CHAPTER 28

When my eyes landed on his face, I saw his gray eyes and newly shaved beard. He has a black necklace, I don't know what it’s called but it’s like the rockstar's necklaces. Then that dings me like a fichy fucky sh*t.

“You've got to be kidding me.” I say.

For the love of God, what is this man doing here.

“Small world. Aren't you happy that we're neighbors now?” he said. He approaches me and kiss lightly on my cheek.

“Oh, I'm ecstatic.” I say sarcastically.

He smiles.

Oh God, his smile. How can I forget that smile? But Emerson's more handsome when he smiles. I shook my head.

“You sure know how to smile. Oh yes, I remember your smile whenever I give you flowers.” he said.

“Yes, in the past. Wait.” pretend to be thinking. “Ohh! What's your name again.” then he chuckles. Rolling my eyes I turn my door knob and when I was about to enter, he speak, causing me to pause and glance at him.
He approached me again and he offered his hand for a handshake.

“Michael Young.” he said.

I smiled. “Very smooth”

He crooked a smile.
“See you around.” I say and start to enter my apartment.

I heard him yell “No, I'll see you tomorrow. That's for sure.”

What. Just. Happened?

I walk like a zombie, my mind's floating. I'm not in a cloud nine, that's for sure.

Grabbing my phone, I dialed Tony's number and put it on my ear.

I wait and wait and wait until I heard someone shouted that I literally threw my phone. But not that far, I'm glad it fell on my couch.

I grab it again.

“Hello..?” I say.

“What is wrong with you? You call me and you're not talking, when I shouted I heard a bang sound. I almost called 911.” Tony said. Definitely, he's concern and angry.

Yes, that two can be combined.

“I'm sorry, but, can you come over?” I say while I sat down and lean back.

“Be there in ten.” he sighs. “And Love?” he says.

“Yes?”

“Don't try to kill yourself.” he said and hangs up.

I maybe in shocked, but I won't kill myself. I've been through a lot. It’s just that I'm not yet ready to see them after years.

My door opened and when I look up my right.

“What happened?” they say in chorus.

I sighed.

Right. All of them. Tony, Celine and Venus.

Oh my gosh. ”Venus, oh my dear Venus.” I stood up as I run towards her and hug her. “Your hair.”

She smiled at me. “Yes, my hair. I shaved it all. I don't like seeing them fall over and over again.”

My heart crumples like a paper. It hurts to see your friend like this.

“I thought, you're getting better?” I asked.

“That's 2 weeks ago.” she smiled again. “Now, you need to tell us what happened? I was worried sick when Tony called and tell me that the only thing you said to him after he shouts while calling your name is asking him to come over.” she said, worrying.

I sigh and asked them to sit down.

“I'll go get us tea and coffee.” Celine say and went to my kitchen.

“Wait, you are supposed to be on a blind date today. “Tony said.

“What blind date?” Celine shouted while on the table preparing us tea and coffee.

“She's supposed to meet her CFO's brother.” Tony replied.

“Did he try to rape you? Tried to kidnap you? Blackmail you?” Venus said panicking.

I hold her hand. “Just calm okay?”

“Yeah, you need to calm.” Celine said while putting the tray on the center table. “Here drink this.” she added while giving her a tea.

“What now? You too? You're banning me to drink coffee.” Venus said, pouting.

We chuckle “I won't be a registered nurse if I don't follow prescriptions.” Celine replied.

Venus rolls her eyes. “Back to business please.” she said.

Then all eyes on me. “The guy that supposedly my date for this wonderful night is no other than John Smith.” I say.

Celine and Tony's mouth open and Venus's eyes got bigger. I nodded.

“How did that happened?”Venus said.

“Oh my God!” Tony and Celine said at the same time as Venus asked.

“You two really are twins.” I said to Celine and Tony. “Anyway, he's my boss's brother. I mean half brother. That's why I don't know it was him.
They didn't spoke.
“Now what? You're just gonna look at me like that all evening?” I say.
That brought them back. “What did he do when he saw it was you?” Celine asked.

“He knows it all this time.” I replied.

Tony chuckles. “I think you've been set up in some point.”

I look at them seriously. “Michael Young is my new neighbor.” Tony stopped smiling.

“You're screwed.” they say it at the same time.
