CHAPTER 84

After I saw Jem on one of the dark corner behind the tree, the lights inside the park opened. It’s not the usual lights that the park has but those colorful lights are being lighted. Music also can be heard along side with these dancing lights.

When I look around us, they are also watching these magnificent lights. They're even taking pictures and videos of it. I think it's also their first time to see this.

"It’s the first time I saw it here." Celine suddenly said.

"Yes, it is." I replied. "Maybe because it’s for the graduates?" I suggested.
Celine shrugged and watch the lights again.
I was about to stand to look at those lights and for Jem to see where we are but Celine held my arms to stop me from standing. So, I sit again and waited for Jem to come out of the crowd.

"Let's just sit here and admire these lights." Celine asked me as she smiles.
As the music fades, the lights faded as well until darkness came. There were no light, people started to chatter around us asking what happened. Others started to take out their phones to light the park.

"Short circuit?" Celine asked.

"May be" I said. "I think something went wrong." I said.
I was about to get my phone in my bag, when there was light formed at the front.

It’s like a red light formed in to a heart. It was done by the people a while ago. I didn't know that Jem set them up to be in our front.
"It’s for you." I said to Celine. I only saw her smiling face.

Then after a red heart light, the second formation was the word SORRY it’s the color of an ordinary light.
FOR LYING were the third formation and its color blue.
BUT... Was the fourth formation with yellow lights? I can clearly see Celine's happiness. I mean, yes. Who wouldn't be happy when your man did that? He's like he's saying he's sorry in the most effort way.

Did I just get jealous? Hahah.... Well Emerson wouldn't do such thing.
I was startled by Emerson.

"Why don't we leave them?" Emerson whispered in my ear and I nodded.
The lights were off again and I held Emerson's arm tightly.

"I'll guide you." He said guiding me. I guess we'll be at the side of the park so when Celine and Jem got okay, they'll see us.

"Close your eyes so you'll feel like your sleep walking." Emerson suggested.

"That's... Okay. I'll try it. That would be fun." I said to Emerson, chuckling.

"Don't open it until you felt the light is on." He said to me then we stop.

"Where are we, particularly?" I asked him, still closed eyes.

"At the side and at the front of a tree." Emerson said.

"Can you tell Jem to be quick? Tell him to open the lights already." I said to Emerson and he chuckled.

"I'll call him." Emerson said.
"Hello." Emerson said. "Can you please open the lights? My girl is getting angry here." Emerson said, laughing.

"Did you really call him?" I asked.

"No. I think he's busy with Celine." Emerson said. "Oh. You can open your eyes now. The lights came out."

My eyes can see the lights even it’s still closed.

I think I might be blind if I open my eyes.

"Your eyes are still closed, baby. Open it." Emerson said.
And when I did, I was greeted by the red lights. I think it’s formed in to something but all I can see are blurred red lights.

So I tried to blink my eyes more to make it clearer and when I opened it for the last time I was greeted by the heart shaped form I saw earlier. Where's Emerson? As if on cue, a spotlight lighted at my front revealing Emerson.

He grins at me like he's so happy. I turn around and saw Celine and Jem smiling and waving at us. What's happening? Are they okay already? Emerson reaches for my hands and holds it.

"Hi." He said, making me chuckled.

"Uh... Hello?" I said, I think the people around us heard me and they chuckled.

"Love...." He started as the formation of lights I saw earlier appeared again. Heart shape, SORRY, FOR LYING, BUT... Then it stops at the word BUT.. When I look at Emerson he sighs again.

"I'm sorry for lying to you in the past. For stalking you. For taking pictures without your approval. For digging in to your past." Emerson said. Those starting words he say, made me turn around to where Celine and Jem are.

Jem's arm is around her waist. Celine mouthed not for me, but for you.

I look back at Emerson who is now looking serious. "I'm sorry for making them lie to you for this day. As what Celine said, it’s for you." He swallowed. "The dancing lights, it’s for you." He said. "The word lights... It’s for you." He added, smiling.

It’s for me?
Yeah, it’s for you.
You shouldn't be jealous anymore.

"I know that you've forgiven me but I just wanted to put an effort for it. I wanted to make you special. I want to see that smile in your face every day when you remember this day. Let me tell you a letter I wrote on my mind...." He said then swallowed. It’s followed by a deep deep sigh. But he smiled in the end.

"To the woman I never thought would stay..." He started as he looks in to my eyes and burying it in to my soul. Those eyes are like needle poked in to my chest.
"I never would've imagined that months will come and we'll still be together. I never thought that it’s possible." He pauses as he swallowed again.
" I never thought that someone would understand the worst in me and would find it okay.
I never thought that someone would stay longer even during the darkest part in my life." He sighs, making me have a pain in my chest again.
"I never thought that someone would care even after they knew the things I've done wrong.
I never thought that a single person would give inspiration for me to write a thousand words.
I never thought that someone would cry when she knows I'm not okay." Emerson said. I didn't know I was crying until Emerson wiped my cheeks.
"And most especially, I never imagined that someone's hug is worth a thousand meaning than a million kiss." He finally said before he put down his right knee on the ground and look up at me.
My world starts to stop at the time. I swear I can hear myself breathing. When his eyes meet mine, it’s full of compassion and love. Those stare I never knew I'll received. Not on this day and not in the future.
"How am I supposed to finish this speech if you're crying nonstop?" He teases me, making me and everyone chuckled.

"Sorry." I apologized.

"It’s too late. I'm kneeling here. I won't back out now." He said, giving me a grin. "Oh, shut it. My romantic scene is not happening right now, so please, keep quiet." Emerson added and I nodded.

Then I heard a soft music, the music that would make you cry even no one's singing and no one is saying anything. The softness and melody of it is very touching and emotional.

He's still holding my hands and the music are still playing.
"The last time I was kneeling, I was begging for your forgiveness." He started again.

"But now, I'm here to ask you a question." He added and swallowing again before releasing a deep sigh.

He releases my left hand and reached for his pocket. "Will you please marry this stalking me?" He uniquely asked as he opened the red velvet crystal small box and showing me a simple pink diamond ring with crystals at the band.

I am bursting with tears and the audience is in their mid air. I think they're not breathing because of the suspense I've been making.




"Y-yes.. Of course." I said and the crowd roared with their congratulations, whistles and claps.

"You sure?" Emerson asked as his eyes released tears as well.
I wiped it. "Yes. So let me wear that ring before I change my mind" and he did instantly.

When he got up, he scooped me in his arms and hugged me tightly.
"I love you, Emerson." I said to him as he continued to hug me.

"I love you more, Love." He said as he slowly put me down and wipes my cheek again.

"Why here?" I asked.
"That's simple. Because I want your little sister, Mia to see that I'm proposing to her big sister to the place where they always go and where her sister dreamt of her." Emerson said, making me cry all over again.

"I think, I might have to change my answer, Emerson." I heard my father voice said. When I turn around I saw him with my mother approaching us.

"You're making my daughter cry." Daddy said.

"You're here!" I exclaimed as I hug my father.

"Congratulations, Love." Dad said dearly. My mother is wiping her tears as she hugs me congratulates me. "When this man made you cry again because of pain, call me and we'll hide the body." My father teases me. Emerson looked shocked but then father slaps his back and hug him as well.

"Don't forget what we talked about." Dad said to Emerson.

"Yes, sir." Emerson replied.

"Yes, you should not make her cry again, okay?" I heard Celine said. "I lied to her this day, so make it worth it." She added as they approached us. Tony, Venus and JC are also present.

"I won't." Emerson replied.

My friends congratulate me and gave me a hug. When it’s my turn to hug my parents again, a soft breeze blows us.

I smiled. "Thank you, Mia." I said silently. I guess my mother heard me because she hugged me again.

Emerson pov

After her friends, parents and I had our dinner, we decided to sleep at her apartment since she'll be leaving it soon.

"Should we get married next month?" I asked her making her look shocked.

She laughs at me. "You're excited, I see." She teases.

"I'm not. I just wanted to make you my wife sooner than later." I replied.

You gotta tell her Emerson.

I am literally sweating. I mean, yes. Whatever. My mind is like an abstract now. It’s like go for it and the other's like no don't, you're just making fun of your self. I thought.

"Kiss for your thoughts?" Love asked me as we are sitting on her couch, eating junk foods.

"Shouldn't it be penny?" I asked. "Oh, I mean millions for your thoughts?" I corrected.

She reached for a handful of chips and put it in my mouth. She's laughing.

"In your dreams" She said as she put chips in her mouth.

"What? They’re giving me millions just to ask what's on my mind." I tell her as she makes weird faces.

"Okay. Here." Love said as she reach for her bank account inside her bag and give it to me. I'm confused.
"What's this?" I asked.

"My bank account" She replied.

"Smart mouth" I said. "I know what it’s called." I added. "What should I do with this?" I asked her.

"Burn it?" She said and groans. "I'm giving you a million dollar. Tell me what's on that mind." She asked, pointing on my head.

I smirk at her. She'll kill me if she hears it. "What's on my mind?" I asked and she nodded. "It’s you." I said.

She didn't speak nor even gave me a reaction. It’s like as if she didn't heard me but when she look at me, her face is getting red. She's blushing. That's when I'm mistaken. She burst out laughing.

"You're so corny!" She said, laughing.

"That's a pick up line." I said to her, rolling my eyes. "You should be blushing."

"You're making me laugh. That's what more important now." She said. I gave her a rolling eyes and she laugh again.

"I need something to tell you." I told her out of the blue. When she look at me and see me in my serious face, she stopped from laughing.
"Sure. What is it?" She asked, blinking at me.

You can do it.

I reach for the glass of wine we're drinking and drank it all. I'm getting frustrated.

"Just tell me." She said, now looking concerned. I nodded at her and sigh.

"I'm still..." I paused, finding words to say it. She raises her eyebrows and tilted her head.

"A virgin" I said to her. Her mouth wide opens as if in shocked.
I'm feeling like an innocent girl looking at a beast.

"Ahhhh..." Love said, not being able to form words. "That's fine." She said.

"Me too." She added. I don't know but hearing those words from her making me sigh in relief. We're very compatible with each other.
When I look at her face, she looks flushed.

"But? Are really serious?" She asked and I nodded. I saw her sighing.
"Why?"I asked.

"I just thought." She said. "You know? You're a..You’re you and you ah... You and Crizza.. I thought you had a... Fling?" She said not being able to make a sentence.

I shook my head. "Never done it with her and I was too busy in my businesses to do that." I said to her.

"But should we remedy it for the both of us?" I suggested to her giving her a smirk.

"No." She said, sticking out her tongue and I laugh. "We've done this far, let's just wait for the right time." She added, giving me a wink.
