Emerson stayed in my office and waited for my out. He insisted to stay in my office rather on Jem's.

"You can go up in my office if you want to." Jem offered before he walked out of the door.

"I'm good here." Emerson replied as Jem only nodded his head.

For the span of three hours, he's just in my couch, browsing emails on his phone and sometimes talking to me.

Sophia comes in my office to give us our coffees. It looks like we're already married. You know? In our own house, in our study room. It feels like home.

"You're staring at me again." Emerson said without even looking at me. How did he know that?. "Jem wouldn't be pleased if you didn't finish that reports." He added, smirking.

"I'll finish it on time. Let me just stare at you for the next two minutes." I said as I lean my back at my chair and stare at him like a crazy idiot.
He chuckled, and put down his phone on his lap. He also lean his back at my couch comfortably and stare at me.

After that staring contest, I proceeded on my reports so that I can have an early out.

"I'll call you later, okay?" I said to Emerson as I got into my car.

"You better." He said before I went inside the car and he closed the door.
As I started the ignition, I look at him again, smile and started to maneuver the wheel.

The last time I saw them together, they were so happy. I wonder what happened to them. I thought to myself.

I dialed Celine's number and put my Bluetooth.

She answered at the fourth ring. "Hello." She said with the saddest voice I've ever heard from her. My heart aches because of that. I never heard that sounds from her. Never

"I'm on my way. Where do I meet you?" I asked as I drive on the busy street of New York. People are also busy talking on their phones. It’s not new.
"Let's go grab an early dinner first then lets walk on the Central Park." She said.

"Okay. Let's do that." I said. The only thing she replied is a hmmm.. "Celine?" I said.

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay?" I asked her with concern.

She sighs deep. "I guess I'm not." She replied.

"I'll be there okay?" I said.

"Okay." She replied. "I'm at the pizza restaurant near the park." She said as I turn left. I can see the place already where she's in.

"I'm almost there." I said as she said her goodbye.

Shaking my head, I parked my car on the parking space provided by the restaurant.

It’s not a high end pizza restaurant but the ambiance is good as it is. As I park my car, I really don't know what she looks like. She might look like me when I found out about Emerson.

I dialed Jem's number.
"I'm here at the restaurant with her. You have lots of explaining to do when I see you." I said, hearing his sigh.
"Yes. I will." He said. "Take care of her for me." He added.
"I'm not taking care of her for you. It’s for me." By that I ended the call and opened my car's door.

The restaurant has green and red colors outside. The guard smilingly opened the door for me and I said my thanks.
When I look at where Celine is, I instantly went to her place and sit.

"I already ordered for us." Celine said, giving me a half smile.
"Thanks." I said and look at her intently. She looks like her old self but her eyes are full of sadness.

When our food is served, we ate it in silence. It’s really awkward for us to be in that situation. I'm not really used to that because Celine is full of happiness and joy.

"How are you?" Celine asked me out of the blue.

"I'm good." I said, giving her a smile. "Before I went here, I just finished the reports I needed to pass because Je-...." I stopped. Why am I so idiot? "I mean, my boss." I corrected.
"It’s okay. His name won't affect me." She said smiling. But I noticed that she clenched her teeth and it’s making me sigh. "Shall we walk at the Park?" Celine added when she ate the last part of her pizza.

"Sure." I said before iced tea for the last time.

We didn't notice that it’s already 8PM as we cross the street towards the park.
The park seems different at night because when I last went here with Emerson, children are running around, laughing and playing. At night, the park is numbered by the couples.

Celine looks at them and gave me a sigh. Maybe it’s hard for her to see these happy couples.

"Jem and I.." Celine started, making me look at her as we continue to walk around the park. "We had a fight." She added. I nodded.

"What fight?" I asked.

"You didn't know?" She asked.

"He told me part of it."I replied. "I guess he's giving you the time for it to tell me." I added.

She sighs and shook her head. "We were dining in one of Emerson's hotel when her ex girlfriend came and dine with us." She said.

I thought she's jealous with Martha.

"But...wait? He told me it was because of Martha, Emerson's cousin."I asked her and she's shocked because of that.
"Martha?" She asked and I nodded. "No. I know that they're really close and all. It’s not because of her." Celine added. "It’s because of Cindy." She finally said.

"Cindy Lee?" I asked and she nodded. "She came?" She nodded again. "Cindy and I never get along well." I added. "She's very...." I said before Celine interrupted me.

"Arrogant b*tch." Celine said, making me chuckle.

"Yes. That's what I'm saying." I said.

I heard my phone rings and when I looked at it, it’s Jem. I looked at Celine who gave me a nod and smile.

"Just a second" I said before I answered the phone.

"Yes?" I said.

"Don't be looked so shocked and tell we're good." And I did. He told me to make it sure that Celine heard it.

"We're at the Park and we can already see you. I prepared fireworks for her and I'll be asking for her forgiveness. Just sit on the chair near you. Don't go away. I prepare a show for her." Jem said to me.

"Okay." I said to him before I hang up the phone.

"Why don't we take a seat?" I said to Celine and she nodded.



When we're settled. "What did he say?" She asked.
"He asked me how you are." I replied and she nodded. "He wanted to make it sure that you're okay and you're not crying." I said, covering Jem's plan.

He better make it good.

I think I saw Jem but I'm not sure, but he nodded at me.

I think his surprise will be happening anytime soon.
