Chapter 314 Why Don't We Make A Bet
Roseane paused, but before she could say anything, Matthew sneered again.
"Yes, you are a superstar. How can you always stay with me, the cripple?"
After that, he glanced at Roseane indifferently. "Let's go for our divorce tomorrow then."
Roseane was stunned and her eyes widened subconsciously. "Matthew, I didn't mean that!"
"Then what did you mean?"
Matthew turned around and glared at Roseane angrily. "Roseane, I know you like working in the entertainment field."
"You're different from Eliza. She quit because she doesn't like this industry. She only became an actress to earn money."
"You're different. You became an actress because you like it!"
Matthew closed his eyes and sighed. "My parents won't allow you to return to work in the entertainment industry if you stay by my side."
"Since you like your career so much, I will divorce you tomorrow. You can go back to the entertainment industry again, and I will continue with my own life."
His words made Roseane bite her lips hard.
Her face turned red and white, and her hands clenched into fists.
"Matthew, don't say that again, okay?"
"As I said, since you chose to marry me at my most difficult time and never leave me, I will also never leave you."
"I can give up my career in the entertainment circle!"
"I just wanted to express my feelings with you that I have seen my fan, that's all!"
"Why did you think of divorce?"
Matthew gave a cold laugh and said, "You only said that you were expressing your feelings after being exposed."
"Roseane, when did you become so hypocritical?"
Roseane's face turned pale.
"Matthew, am I such a woman in your eyes?"
Matthew turned to look at the birds and trees outside the window with a mocking smile on his face.
But his voice was still cold and firm. "What kind of person do you think you are in my eyes?"
Roseane opened her eyes wide and looked at Matthew's face with tears in her eyes. She said in a tearful voice, "Matthew, I overestimated you!"
After that, she covered her face with her hands and ran away crying.
Eliza frowned as she looked toward the direction where Roseane had run away. Just as she was about to chase after her, Matthew said coldly, "Let her go."
Eliza frowned and looked back at Matthew angrily. "What are you thinking about?"
"You're obviously not that kind of person, why did you say that to her?"
If Matthew had really been suspicious of Roseane, he would not have married her when she was in a coma and in the most awkward state of her life.
Roseane might not know how much Matthew had sacrificed for her.
However, Eliza had seen how Matthew took care of Roseane back then.
Eliza would not believe it if she was told that he didn't like Roseane at all.
However, why did Matthew have to speak so harshly to break Roseane's heart?
"I don't want her to continue to accompany me."
Matthew controlled his wheelchair and went to the window, looking at the neon lights and the traffic. "You just saw it. When she mentioned her fan, her eyes were bright."
"But ever since she listened to my parents and left the circle, she no longer had that kind of light in her eyes."
Matthew sighed. "The Roseane in the showbiz was shining brightly like a bird flying freely in the sky."
"But after she stayed with me..."
"The Valentine family is like a birdcage, locking her up completely in it. She can't continue to fly and is not happy."
"So, I want to drive her away, even if she won't be with me in the future and won't be friends with me anymore."
"But when she is a star, that's when she shines the most."
Eliza was stunned by his words.
She was about to say something when she realized that it was pointless to say anything to Matthew.
He had thought it over. He had seen it very clearly.
At this moment, she could do nothing but to support Matthew.
However ...
"Are you sure that after your divorce, Roseane will still be as brilliant as before after returning to the entertainment circle?"
Roseane's favorite person was Matthew.
She liked Matthew so much that she could go crazy for him. Eliza had seen all these with her own eyes.
However, Matthew was now saying that Roseane was unhappy to be with him.
Could Roseane be happy after she left Matthew and returned to the showbiz?
She didn't think so.
"Of course."
Matthew looked into the distance and his voice was as determined as his gaze. "She'll definitely be the most dazzling one in the crowd, just like before."
Eliza sighed. "I think you're wrong."
"Even if you divorce her, Roseane may not be able to return to the entertainment circle. Even if she does, she may not be happy."
Matthew narrowed his eyes and turned to look at Eliza coldly. "It's not up to you."
Eliza's lips curled up. Of course, what she said wouldn't count.
"Why don't we make a bet?"
"If Roseane returns to the entertainment circle after divorcing you, I promise you one thing. Otherwise, you promise me one thing."
"If Roseane returns to the entertainment circle and becomes brilliant again, I will promise you one thing, otherwise, you promise me one thing."
Matthew narrowed his eyes and hesitated for a moment before he nodded.
"All right!"
He was sure that no one in this world knew Roseane better than he did.
He knew better than anyone else what Roseane would do after she divorced him.
"It's a deal."
Eliza's lips curled up. Just as she was about to say something, the ward door opened.
Beau entered the room, looking tired. He glanced at Matthew and Eliza. "What are you talking about?"
"We're talking about Roseane."
Beau curled his lips. After making clear of the bet between Eliza and Matthew, he could not help but smile at Matthew.
"You're definitely going to lose."
Matthew rolled his eyes. "How could you guys know Roseane better than I do?"
After that, he yawned, turned around and left in a wheelchair.
After he left, Eliza quickly approached Beau and asked in a low voice,
"Is there any result on your end?"
"Did you find out who took Demarion from the other monitoring?"
Beau closed his eyes and nodded. "Yesterday, there were a total of 463 people who brought little boys into the western region of the city, and 632 people went to the western region of the city with a huge luggage."
"We have checked one by one, and all of them are not."
He rubbed the space between his eyebrows and asked, "How did Demarion run from the east of the city to the west of the city?"
