Chapter 420 But Now I Regret It

From the logo on the wall, Roseane could tell that they were currently in a private hospital.
This hospital was very huge and had a particularly high medical level. It was the kind of hospital that specialized in treating rich people.
The fees were very high, and relatively, their privacy would be ensured here.
When Roseane was still the famous movie queen, she had come to this hospital to visit the famous director she knew. She knew that the wards on the highest three floors were all VIP wards.
Based on her previous experiences, the higher one's status was, the higher floor he would stay at. Roseane first went to the highest level.
However, there seemed to be no one on the top floor. She took the elevator and went to the second-highest floor and finally saw a familiar bodyguard at the elevator.
Roseane knew that she was at the right place, so she went forward to ask where Matthew was.
The bodyguard recognized Roseane and didn't dare to hide anything. He took her to Matthew.
When Roseane arrived, Owen was talking to Matthew.
"Are you sure you want to do this? It's not a trivial matter. It's dangerous for you. If your parents knew, they would never agree."
Matthew's eyes were full of determination, which made him look like a totally different person.
"There's no need to persuade me. I've made up my mind."
"But..."
Before he could finish his words, the bodyguard brought Roseane over and knocked on the door.
Surprise flashed across Matthew's eyes when he saw that Roseane had come to look for him so quickly. He threw Owen a warning glance and then walked towards the door with a smile.
"Why are you here? Are you here to look for me?" He asked despite knowing the answer.
Roseane looked around and didn't see Eliza and the others. She guessed that they must have returned home.
A trace of doubt flashed across Roseane's heart. Eliza and Mr. Valentine had always been thoughtful. How could they leave without telling her? They even left Matthew alone in the hospital with his injured leg.
Moreover, the conversation between Matthew and the doctor was a little strange. What could it be that was risky for Matthew?
However, when she saw Matthew's smiling eyes, Roseane swallowed back her doubts.
Forget it. They were about to get divorced. What was she worrying about here?
"Take these back. Give me back my phone."
Roseane's voice was exceptionally cold, and her words were simple and direct.
Matthew frowned when he saw the bag that Roseane had brought over.
"It's just some essential daily necessities. They don't worth much. Why did you..." Why did she have to give them back to him?
Roseane raised her head and glanced at him coldly.
"We're neither relatives nor friends. I can't accept these."
These words made Matthew feel terrible. He looked at Roseane with a complicated expression.
"We haven't divorced yet."
"We will divorce soon."
"Roseane, do you really want to treat me so cruelly?"
Roseane suddenly laughed as if she had heard a funny joke.
"Mr. Valentine, please come back to your senses and don't lie to yourself anymore."
"You agreed to the divorce back then. You can't keep dragging my time after Kezia had left, can you?"
If it was back then, Matthew might have been irritated by her words, but he had overheard the conversation between Roseane and Mariam and completely understood her intentions.
Therefore, even though he was ridiculed by her, he did not feel angry.
There was only heartache left.
Roseane was always like this. She always thought of others, but never thought about her own situation.
In the past, he was indeed used to being doted on by Roseane, but it didn't mean that he really didn't have any feelings for her.
"You're right. I did agree to it myself, but now I regret it."
Roseane's eyes widened as she stared at Matthew in disbelief.
"Roseane, everyone makes mistakes. You have to give me a chance to correct myself."
Roseane frowned and subconsciously took a few steps back as she watched Matthew turn the wheelchair to get closer to her.
"I'm fine with you saying I'm selfish or shameless or anything else."
"As long as I can keep you by my side, so what if I'm a little selfish?"
After hearing these words, Roseane's heart began to beat wildly. Especially at this moment, Matthew was looking at her so seriously, as if he could only see her.
Matthew continued to approach with a faint smile on his face. He picked up the shopping bag that Roseane had placed on the ground and handed it to the bodyguard beside him.
"Send these downstairs and tell my mother-in-law that I will accompany her every day in the future. Tell her not to worry. I will make arrangements for her operation as well."
The bodyguard took the things and turned to leave without hesitation.
Matthew curled his lips and looked at Roseane.
"Roseane, you should know me very well. No one can stop me from doing what I want to do. You should know that I won't divorce you no matter what."
As he spoke, Matthew's eyes were fixed on Roseane.
Roseane's heart was pounding under his gaze. She realized that she had unknowingly retreated to the wall, and Matthew's wheelchair had trapped her and she frowned slightly.
"Matthew, do you know what you're talking about?"
"Of course I know."
However, Roseane suddenly sneered. "I don't think you know anything."
With a smile on his face, Matthew suddenly stood up while holding on to the wheelchair's armrests. His tall figure covered Roseane's entire body, making the distance between them closer bit by bit.
"Whether I know it or not, you will know in a while."
As he spoke, he kissed Roseane's lips.
He had wanted to do so for a long time.
He didn't want to hear those annoying words from her mouth, nor did he want to hear her mention the word "divorce".
Such a sweet lips should be tasted by him long ago. Why didn't he do that earlier?
Roseane's eyes widened.
In the span of a few breaths, she smelled his scent, which made her blush inexplicably.
They had never done anything intimate even aftert they got married.
But now, Matthew... was actually kissing her?
Roseane held her breath and remembered that she had not brushed her teeth yet after she woke up. Then, she started to look down on her useless self.
He was just a man, a man she did not want.
After repeating these words in her heart several times, Roseane finally had the courage.
She pushed Matthew away and slapped him in the face.
"Slap!"
A crisp slap sounded, and the whole ward fell silent.
Matthew's face tilted to one side. In order not to worsen his injury, he was just standing on one leg just now. Now that he was slapped, he became unstable and he sat back in the wheelchair.
"Clang!" There was a loud noise.
Owen looked away, and he didn't dare to laugh out loud.
He didn't say that Matthew was far worse than his uncle when it came to being a hooligan.
Roseane was very angry, but when she saw that Matthew couldn't stand still, her heart couldn't help but thump.
She couldn't think straight and immediately blurted out what she was worried about.
"Are you okay?"
Matthew was speechless.
There was still an awkward silence in the ward.
