Chapter Seventeen
We got space to sleep and rest our heads, and I fell on the bed and slept like a log of wood. It was the best I had slept in days obviously, but the morning really had a way of taking away even the most beautiful times of sleep.
It was morning and I woke up, I looked beside me but she wasn't there, “where could she be? “ I thought as I stood up and headed straight for the door, as soon as I opened it was the servant I met, “Good morning, IGURO is calling for you, please follow me.” She said, as I followed her, we made our first turn to the right and the next to the left as we started to approach a very dark place. I was scared a bit and waited, “ why is this place so dark?” I asked, and the maid laughed, “What did you expect from someone who has a dark mind.” She said, and continued moving, her explanation wasn't clear enough but I had just one choice and that Is to follow.
We entered the dark And continued moving until we got to the door and opened it, I entered and all I could hear was his voice, with only a dim light, focusing on the spot where I stood, I knew he was seeing me, “Starting today, you'll bear the name ZAKI and Delta, would train you in our ways. You can leave now.”
He said, and I turned around to leave the hall, when I got outside, a man, with a young face who looked smart, got a hold of me, “I'm Delta, I was asked to train you in our ways.” He said, “So follow me.” He continued, but everything was too fast for me to make any sense of what was going on. I followed him and he took me to a place, he opened the door and as I entered my face was welcomed by twenty dangerous men, they had scars all over them and were surely vicious, for a man who people were scared of to be scared of people that made me really scared.
“You'll be joining our unit, and what we do is go to neighboring villages on hunting missions. That's all we do.” Delta said, “What exactly do we hunt?” I asked, “that's what you'll get to know once you join fully, for now, your training will start and mostly it'll be on how to follow instructions without a word,” he said, and they started teaching me, it felt like I was back to the basics, I was being taught new things it felt like this place brought a lot of things back, but I felt strange, what exactly do they hunt that they just can't say out.
Either way I'm stuck in this life at the moment, but what about Brielle, I didn't see her when I woke up. A lot ran through my mind and I struggled to concentrate.
The whole day had passed and the training was over, I had only grabbed the basics of everything I was ta, and my mind kept on being interrupted but instead of returning to the shelter I was given earlier, I was directed to another shelter, it looked like a dungeon once I entered the shelter I saw many people there, it was the maid's section, I was given the uniform of my unit, and I got to enter into their own quarters. But all that didn't make me worry.
I wanted to know how Brielle was faring, if she was still alive I was the only one she knew in this whole place and the only one she had, how could I just let go of her, I was so stupid. I thought about it, almost all night, and had just very few hours of sleep, and it dawned on me as I couldn't sleep anymore, everybody was awake by five and there were bustles and noise everywhere, I woke up and went to take my bath, and finally, I was given food, and this time it wasn't a feast it was servant's food. I was so hungry to eat so little, but this is what I ended up getting.
Should I say her bad luck was affecting me? But why would my wolf choose her to be my mate? I had a lot on my mind as I took my bath and prepared to go for the second day of my training, but this time, as I got to the unit arena, I saw everyone whispering and discussing, I was the new guy obviously I had no one to hear it from.
The leader wasn't there and I had to question if something had happened, I kept quiet and waited for any instructions, without talking to anyone just yet, when the leader came in, he looked calm as usual, “We're heading out on a special hunting mission, everybody should prepare, in the next hour we'll be out in the woods.” He said, and I looked around and I could see the terror on the faces of some of them.
That made me question what we were hunting. I wanted to know, but grace was on my side. I would find out faster than they could even tell me, “Hey new guy!!” Someone called out and I turned around “Fasten your seat belt, it's going to be a very long ride for you.” He said, and the guy and his gang burst out laughing “I bet he thinks we're hunting rabbits.” They said again laughing, but I couldn't care less, they looked so weak I could tell they'd survived their whole stay by luck.
“You guys should cut it out, instead of you guys telling him that you should encourage him to do his best.” He said, and they stopped. I guess they were scared of him, he looked scarier than the others and purposely he was Strong, I could tell just by looking at him.
