Chapter Twenty -three

“Hector, is that your name?” I asked the guy, he looked at me as weird at first then said “Oh! You're the guy that stood up to god the other day. How'd you know my name?” He said, “I don't know your name I just guessed, I guess I'm good at guessing.” I said, and we both laughed, “What are you doing?” I asked, “Just chilling, I'm thinking of getting some booze then going back to my shelter,” he said, “I had the same thing in mind, would you like to go get it together?” I asked, “That shouldn't be a problem.” He said.

And we both moved down to the portal where we got alcohol, we got it and I made sure he got drunk, while I acted as if I was drunk too, “how have you been coping with not having a wife in this desolate place.” I said, “Men had their own ways.”

And we laughed, we kept on talking about stupid things while I had cleverly gotten the key from his pocket, after drinking for about half an hour he was dead drunk and I barely assisted him back to his shelter, I met with the captain, and we packed what we could pack and kept it inside the secret space I had dug through the tunnel. And set the remaining food on fire. And I safely returned to our shelter while we waited for chaos to break out.

“Fire! Fire!! Fire!!!” The scream of people shouting wasn't growing less as the fire refused to be quenched, that was the supply for the remaining part of the year and drought was a destined certainty, and now that the whole supply was burnt everyone was going to be ready for a big deal of hunger, while we wait for the god to take care of this situation without a panic and while we get ready to strike.

I ran outside to join them and poured water to extinguish the fire, but what was left was the burnt carcass that no one could lay their hands upon. Everything was gone and ruined, the harvest was ruined and there weren't going to be crops.

This was going to be fun I thought. All the unit's leaders got out and I could see fear on the inventory leader's face as she struggled to believe her eyes. After a while the captains followed themselves and Delta looked at me and gave me a thin smile while I gave it back, everything was set in motion now all that was left was for us to continue to break him.

“ After everything died down, everywhere was in chaos, and the pilot hadn't said anything, the captains were back and I went to my captain to ask him what he had said, “he's sending us on a raid early tomorrow morning so we could restock with whatever we looted. The captain said, “I thought as much, that's why we're going to break him before we leave.

“How's that?” The captain asked, “The horses.” I said, how will the horses break him?" “In total, we have hundred horses ready to run, but if we're leaving with twenty, there's a disease spectacular to horses that can be caused due to the food they eat.

“ How do you know all these things? And how will that affect him? “ He asked, if by the time we come back all the horses die, and the others get sick we would all be in a shortage of food, and shortage of transportation to go and loot and that'll make us immobile, that would make it clearly impossible to solve this case of hunger.

And given the fact that the surroundings are dangerous, he wouldn't want to send us by foot, and that would clearly be provoking whoever is on top.” I said, and the captain looked at me with a kind of satisfaction that I couldn't explain.

“ Alright, so how do we want to make them contract this disease?” He said, “We'll get it on our way to the raid.” I said, and we cleared out while we prepared for the raid, it didn't take long before we set out for the raid, we left very early in the morning and while everyone was busy gathering foodstuffs I was with the captain gathering what we were going to use.

The supply chain had to be stiffened and if the puppet didn't seem reliable, the boss was going to make sure he showed himself to be able to stop everything that was happening, and once the boss showed himself, it would be checkmate.

He surely had potential, and that was why nobody was able to find out he was a puppet, but I was also a master, I had ruled and knew the power dynamics, this was the only way I could save Brielle. We went back to the bandit's world and fed the horses these seeds, while the supply was running out slowly and steadily in the space of three days seventy-five of the horses were gone while the others were down with sickness and could not move at all.

The captain was amazed and said, “Are you sure the boss will show himself soon? Or was there still a step we needed to take just for the boss to show himself?” He asked, even if the boss wouldn't show up over something trivial I have a plan a concrete plan that would make him risk everything and show himself, that being a genius isn't what matters in the game of power but being a monster, a maniac at that, and that's what we really need to be, to be able to show the puppet master that someone else was controlling his puppet while he sat there waiting for his own general income from the so-called puppet, he owned. I'm going to make him regret ever doing all these, he's messed with the wrong gun.
