Chapter Twenty-eight
**LUTHER'S POV**
I was held to the ground when I suddenly saw blood gush out of her body. It felt like I was dreaming, but at a second instance, I realized I wasn't dreaming. She had cut off a vital part of herself, and she was on the ground. Why did she have to take a drastic step like that? I broke the chain loose and stood up, rushing immediately to carry her. The doctors that were in the crowd had me rush her with them to the infirmary.
She was bleeding so much, and my face was blood red seeing Tau sitting down, waiting, and looking at the whole scene, but he couldn't react to save her. I wanted to strangle him to death at that point, but I couldn't. If I had even tried to go after him, I'd be dead. He brought his whole army to come with him. He was ready for the savagery and was ready to take back what was his. I called him brother; I treated him like one.
How could he deceive me this way? I never knew he was this cunning. I even trusted most of his words over my advisors, and now he's blemishing me. Why? I sat there looking at Brielle fighting for her life, but only one name was on my mind, Tau. From now on, all I would do is aim to end him. I swore to myself.
After trying to treat her for five hours straight, she was finally away from the danger of death, and she was free from pain and anxiety. I was relieved, but just when I touched her, the securities came in and chained me while they took me to their masters.
“You really got yourself some dogs,” I said upon getting to his front. “But can you guess what I have?” I said.
“Enough of your wordplay. I'll make you suffer for destroying everything I planned so delicately,” he said. “Ha ha ha… you should have guessed I got myself loyal beasts. Right now, everyone in this city, as I would call it, is loyal to me, just me. And convincing them to change would not happen. Scaring them would not work. The only solution you have is to kill every one of us. But you just can't. We are way too different and much more than you to kill. We have everything you don't have. The unity and that's what will break you,” I said.
“You sure talk too much for a loser you are. Running away from the legacy you built because of a girl. You're a coward who doesn't even deserve any good thing in life. And that power you left would make me teach you something memorable. Power is everything. Without power and wealth, your life is stuck. Money would take you places and power would give you superiority and authority. But you chose love instead. What has love gotten you?” He said.
“Love has given me true happiness. With power, awealth without love, your life would remain like an empty shell. You would be condemned to a life of emptiness and loneliness. You'll continue to long and long for that love. You'll continue to yearn for it, but the gap will always be there. But with power, wealth, and love, you would have conquered all. And that is why I know how I would get my hands on three, and I would make sure you don't get any because I'm promising you today that I'm going to see the end of you. I, Luther, would make sure I end your reign and your bloodline with you. This is my promise to you.”
He burst out laughing. "You sure know how to give emotional speeches. But you know there's one fact about emotional people; they always lose. They're weak and vulnerable, and vulnerability will always be the end of them. Do you know what women want? They want bad people with wealth and power and a little touch of cuteness. The world is evolving; love doesn't exist. The world is for survival. All they think about is how they want to be like the others in rank and hype. But you're here giving me a speech about love? Very funny. So I'll make sure to teach you. How love isn't a thing anymore. I won't kill you; I will show you how flexible women are. I would show you how crazy they are. You just wait and see how I'll lay your beloved in my bed and make her yearn for my touch while I make you watch all day. I would make you die with enough regret, and that is my promise to you.” He said.
“I'm going to wait for you too, and I'll show you how one takes down one with power and wealth, with unity and love. I assure you the fact that you'll lose. And when you do, I won't allow you to live to experience it. I would cut off your head and place it on the altar in front of your family portrait and burn everything together. I'm sure your father would be disappointed seeing the way you're living. And I'll make sure I show you how useless the wealth and power you wanted is. This is my promise to you,” I told him, and he asked them to take me and lock me up in the dungeon and leave me there without food and water for seven days.
"Let's see how he copes without food and water," he added at the end. The only thing that was my concern was just how Brielle was faring. I hope she survived and is doing fine. I was going to make sure she lived a great life; she had no one else apart from me, and for that, I would try my best to get her the best things she deserved. I would make her become what she needed to be. That's how much I loved her.
