Chapter 37: Ruin a chance with my one true mate

What the fuck have I done, I thought frighteningly, seeing my one true mate staring at us surprisingly. My body suddenly froze, not able to move from Paisley's naked body, while I stare ashamedly into my one true mate's disappointedly green eyes. Swiftly, she turns around and ran away heartbroken at what I had done to her. At that moment I wish I could turn back time and stop myself from doing something so stupid. Breaking my one true mate's heart before she had given me the chance to let me into her heart.

I got up immediately off Paisley's naked body, to chase after her.

"Let her go, Liam," Paisley told me. As she held me from behind; trying to pull me back towards her. "Can't you see you still want me; we belong together and not her," she kept on telling me.

"It's over between us Paisley!" I shouted at her, while I turn back towards her angrily. As the image of my heartbroken she-wolf begins to haunt me.

"Then why were we about to have sex, Liam?" Paisley inquired me angrily.

"It was a mistake, something that should never have happened," I answered her.

A hard slap went across my face by my infuriated first love. As she started to cry.

"How can you say what we almost did as a mistake?" she asked me angry as hell; while she lowers herself quickly and took up her dress from the ground and hold it against her body; concealing her nakedness. Instead of putting it on.

"I'm sorry Paisley if I offended you, but I have to go, I can't deal with you anymore," I told her as I ran off leaving her.

"Liam!" she shouted my name. "Liam," she kept on calling me.

I did not answer her nor look back at her. All I could think of was to find Avery and apologize to her; hoping to the moon goddess that she will forgive me for my stupid action and forget what had happened. As I ran away from the large greenfield, in search of her. My mind again ran on how devastated she was. Within her eyes I saw that she was ready to start a new life with me, that is why she came looking for me, but I took it all away. Tears fill my eyes, sorry that I had hurt her. I did not mean to nor do I knew what had happened that had caused me to do something so stupid. I cursed myself angrily inside.

I wipe away my tears as I quickly ran across the field. I then stop searching for her amongst the crowd. I did not see her. Where is she? I thought angrily; wanting to find her at once. I started to worry if she had taken another path, leaving Wereville. My heart raced within my chest even more worried by my last thought. If she leaves, I will never get the chance to tell her I am sorry and try to explain to her my foolish actions.

Check the store, I suddenly thought. I ran towards the store she wanted to purchase her new clothes; hoping that she was there. As I got close to the door. I heard my mate cried out. I felt my body stopped, uncontrollably, staring at the door of the store, while I continue to hear her cry. I lower my head sadly, now staring at the ground, melancholy. It was quite painful hearing my one true mate so sad inside and to know it was all because of me; not being able to control my cock. I slowly began to walk towards the store taking small steps until I was at the front door. I paused, for a minute before entering. I pushed the door open and there I saw my little Avery naked, sobbing on the floor within the elderly store owner's arms. It was so terrifying and heartbroken seeing her in that way. I hated myself for hurting her when she was just about to start trusting me.

My mate turns around, looking at me. I was shocked by what I now saw within her eyes; nothing but hatred.

"Let me speak to her," I ordered the store owner who was still holding my mate. I wanted some alone time, so my mate and I could speak privately.

The store owner obeyed me, removing herself from the floor, heading to another section of her store. My mate got up as she did; following the elderly lady; not wanting anything to do with me. She did not want to be within the same place as me. I moved quickly catching her; trying to pull her towards me. My eyes suddenly close, and my face turned to the left away from her as an acute pain ran across my face by my angry mate. I open my eyes turning my face back towards her and ran my hand across my cheek by her hard slap. I stared sadly into her angry eyes; seeing how badly hurt she was. At that moment I wanted her to hit me again. I wanted her to hurt me badly of the terrible pain I was putting her through.

I must take her home in trying to deal with the mess I was putting her through, I thought as I started to search my pocket in paying the store owner of the clothes my mate had taken.

"Here, I gave the money to the elderly lady. As I removed my eyes off my mate.

"Grab the stuff that you purchase and let's go home," I told my mate as I return my eyes to her.

"Are you fucking insane?" my mate inquired me.

My eyes widen frighteningly by what she had said.

Immediately I went for clothes from one of the mannequins wanting her to cover her nakedness, so I could take her home and try to explain myself to her or beg her even if I must. She remains still determined not to put on the dress. I had no other choice but to try to put it on myself. My little Avery fights me, refusing to put on the dress. She bites me on my hands and clawed at my chest.

"Please let her go, I beg you alpha Liam," the store owner started to beg me; hated seeing what was happening. "Please let her stay with me until she calms down."

"Okay," I answered the elderly lady, while I unhand her. "I'll wait for her," I told her. As I sat down into a seat next to the wall of the store.

"I will never go back to your place with you!" my mate shouted angrily. "And if you try forcing me to, I will try and kill myself, " she warns me as she sobs.

I jumped out of the chair frighten by what she had said.

"I'll explain everything when we get home," I said to her softly; scared at what she said to me. I did not want her to try and kill herself.

She ran at the back of the store, wanting to be away from me. I did not bother to try and catch her; petrified of the last terrible words she said to me.

"Please let her stay here until she calms down," the elderly lady again said to me. I stare at her; determine not to leave my mate when she was in a terrible condition not to be alone. I wanted to be by her side even if she will keep clawing at me and pushing me away.

"She'll be safe here, I promise," the elderly lady assures me. "You can come by and come at the back later to check on her."

I nodded.

"I won't take too long to be away from my mate," I told her as I exit the store sadly.
