The Shadows Speak!

Hunnie

I stood in the same spot Kris left me in for what seemed liked hours.

Rooted to spot, I could move, nor bend my knees without my back making cracking sounds and throbbing with difficulty.

Having such a hard time lowering my body back to the ground, I thought Kris had come to save me, but he leaves me here standing painfully.

My bladder already released itself in this position and began pooling at my feet.

I gripped onto the small windowsill above my head tightly and decided to let myself fall down. That's the only way I can go back to sitting. I prayed I wouldn't lie there lifeless after failing and actually causing more injuries throughout my already crushed body.

My legs were starting to cramp up. They were shaking with holding my weight up for so long.

It's not like I could use my magic in this cell. The spell markings on the floor prohibited me to using any kind of witchy magic. It broke my heart.

Tears began flowing down my face as I prepared my body to fall down. I already knew this was going to hurt a lot, but not as much as the hurt I had in my heart.

With one hand on the windowsill, and the other hanging freely, I dropped my body down slowly. Tensing my abdomen for the impact and hoping my free hand could at least slow down the impact once I actually did fall.

I let go and began crying. If someone was here would they even help me?

My body lands safely and painlessly.

Although, when I landed, it didn't feel like I fell on the steel floors. It felt as though I was laying on a hammock full of thick and bony skin.

I turn my head slowly, with the pain in my neck radiating and throbbing simultaneously.

Looking over my shoulder, I seen a humongous, red wing between my cell bars. Breathing like it was alive.

My heart began racing as I noticed the wing was retracting back to the cell across from me. The pitch black one that I thought was empty.

My body gently slides on the steel floors as the wing slides from underneath me and my cell.

I hurriedly rushed into a sitting position. Terror strikes me, not even worrying about my back anymore, but instead the creature that helped me land softly on the floor.

What was that?!

It looked like a dragon wing....

I examined the overly large cell that even extended way passed my own cell.

My eyes struggle as I tried to take in the the darkness, searching for what animal it was.

"Why does The King treat you this way now?" A distorted, deep and terrifying voice comes from the dark cell across the way.

"Who...who's there?" My lips quivered and I felt my bladder ready to release itself again.

The voice doesn't reply back. Instead, the sound of the dungeon doors opening made me whip my head in that direction.

A brown paper bag comes flying from around the corner, and inbetween the cell bars. It lands way out of my reach.

My enhanced nose pick up on the scent from the bag being food. My stomach growls ridiculously knowing that I had to shimmy my body over to retrieve it.

My body was too drained from standing so long while injured. I began contemplating if it was even worth it, since I'm going to be dying soon.

As I'm in hopeless thought, the wing from across the way comes out of the shadows again and slides between my bars.

My petrified eyes watched it, as I noticed long, black talons attached to the transparent, red, bony wing.

The creature flicks it's talon toward the brown paper bag and it comes sliding over to me and it retreats back to its cell.

I was speechless.

I sat there staring. Waiting to see if it would make another move, but then the growling in my stomach adverts my attention to the fresh smelling delicacies in the bag.

Upon opening the bag, I see it's a cheese and ham grinder. My heart flutters for a quick second.

Someone is making sure I eat, but who?

Could it be Kris, even after The King told him not to come down here anymore? Or was it The King himseld, making sure I fed his child inside of me?

I gobbled it all within seconds.

It was a tease for my empty stomach that was now eating for two and hadn't eaten in days.

A faint purring began coming from the creatures cell along with a snort of air, blowing dirt around the dungeon floors.

"Th-Thank you." I tell it. Hoping it is indeed friendly.

When he didn't reply back right away, I leaned my side against the stone wall and held my stomach.

"I smell....The Demon-Wolf King on you, you've been close to him. Why does he treat you this now?" The creatures terrifying voice startles me again and I sit up.

I'm confused. Does he know me? Just who is he?

Does he mean to say he can sense a part of The King inside of me? The unwanted child in my womb?

I was choking on my reply back to the winged creature. As it brought a stabbing pain to my chest. There was no answer I could give.

All of a sudden, The King appears in thin air right infront of my cell. He faces the dark cell with the unknown creature inside.

"Stop fùcking talking to her or I'll rip your other wing off!" He hollers towards the beast.

Tiny tingles of numbness began coating my whole body. I was terrified of this man.

Did he say he ripped of this animals wings?

What more could he possibly do to myself if he could do that?!!

He furiously turns to face my cell. I can tell he's extremely angry as he begins huffing and puffing like a mad bull.

"Do NOT speak with my prisoners or I'll rip your tongue out WITCH!"

Sobs began to leave my throat involuntarily.

I watched as he disappears into thin air again.

This can't be my mate. Something must've went wrong, or I was lied to...
