Chapter 45|The Alpha's Fury.

.....

Alexander and Francis used one of the skills barely used in the modern era, they teleported from the Bane Pack in London to New York City.

The blood flowing through Alexander's veins was chillya cold as the two of them joined Old Bea, Lucas, Damon and a few other wolves in the patio.

"What's going on?" Alarmed, Alexander asked the moment he was within arm's length with the others.

"My Alpha, we found this letter while on the search for the young lady, our esteemed guest." One of the scouts, Rafe Eduardo handed over a piece of paper that made the blood in Alexander's face drain.

His face turned ashy white as his eyes roved over the contents of the letter.

I'm sorry Alexander, I can't stay where I don't belong.

I couldn't gather the courage to tell anyone I was leaving because it was a tough decision to make.

Respect the deed and abide by its requirements, marry your intended.

You shouldn't bother to go looking for me. I'm long gone from your world.

Yours,
Isabelle.

The words didn't make Alexander tremble but her scent in it made him crumple the paper in his fists.

With the calm he was renown for, the Alpha strode out of the room letting the door shut with a loud bang.

His eyes shone bright as he tore off his shirt spiraling into the air and dropping on the ground a large pitch black wolf, his eyes were demonic and his expression wild, filled with menace and the need for blood.

Old Bea splayed her palm over her chest, feeling it constricting with a pain she's never felt before. It was the pain coming from the Alpha, she knew it.

Alexander didn't stop until he was at the edge of the cliff that used to be his father's spot for respite. His fury was tangible for it rode side-by-side with him. He heard screams in his head, shrieks of pain that tugged hard at the wolf's heart making it release a long howl of pain. The howl was heard all around the Pack and everyone feared the reason behind the long and loud emotional cry released by their Alpha.

Before Alexander returned to the De Luca Pack Manor, all of his warriors, scouts, hunters, trackers, elders and even a few omegas had received the summon in his howl and were awaiting his arrival with their hearts in their throats.

With his jaw clenched as hard as steel he ran his eyes over everyone present. All stood with their heads lowered to the ground except his sister who fled into his arms in a frenzy with her whole form shaking profusely. His arms stayed idle to his sides, he couldn't find in himself the compassion to soothe her pain knowing there was nothing to soothe his.

Francis and Lucas moved forward with Lucas plucking the girl out of his arms and Francis urging Alex to be calm.

Damon's voice boomed across the room rendering hearts stopping in their owner's chests. "Who was at the Pack borders yesterday and today?"

The room fell silent after his reverberating voice sent thrills down their spines.

Four men and two women moved forward. "I was at the Pack borders guarding South, Matteo, Julius and Ciara were with me." A soldier named Theo spoke up, responding to Damon's questioning.

All the other wolves guarding the other gates imitated his actions and were moved to the interrogation room with Damon following right behind.

"Where was the parchment found?" Alexander spoke for the first time, his eyes were still inhumane and his voice too terse.

"In her room."

"When last was she seen? When did you return with her Leah?" Francis directed the second part of his question to the still sobbing girl who was plastered to Old Bea's chest.

"They returned last night, she had breakfast in bed." The older woman responded.

"Was she seen since her return, and by whom?" Francis asked.

Old Bea cleared her throat at the strings of questions sent their way, Leah was too distraught to be able to speak, "She was seen. She was said to be down with a headache and was let off to have the space she needed."

"Why wasn't I told? And who relayed the message?" Alexander's voice was low but lethal.

"I.." Old Bea began but was stopped by a mere gesture from the Alpha. A gesture she recognized and did as she was bade to.

"Leah, answer me." He commanded, turning to his shivering sister.

"She told me she was down with a headache, I gave her the pills she was given last time and this morning I couldn't.. " She rasped amidst shaky sobs.

"Who else apart from you saw her this morning? Who was the maid who took breakfast to her?" Francis sent series of questions towards the aggrieved girl.

Leah swallowed a lump of anguish down her throat, "I took it there personally, she assured me that she wanted to be left alone and I could do nothing but abide by her wish. All I did was comply with her request. I didn't know she was leaving, I wouldn't have let her go." She cried, "I would've stood by her."

"Enough of your questioning, she's in pain too." Old Bea stated, helping her out of the room to hers.

"Wherever she is shouldn't be far from here." Damon's words had Francis turning to face the hardened warrior. "We went through the coverages, none was tempered with and not one of the guards had neither seen her leave nor had they seen her coming into the Pack." Alexander's heart went into overdrive as it dawned on him that Isabelle might have been taken out of the Pack not by choice but by force.

But then, what explains the letter found in her room.

Alexander swiped his fingers over the letter in his pocket. The crumpled piece of paper bearing her scent.

"Has her cell phone been tracked?" Francis asked.

"It was found in her room. She didn't leave with it." the Delta explained.

"It leaves us with two options, whether she wasn't back to the pack as Leah says or she was forcefully moved out. Ives perhaps or Arianna might have something to say about this, they were demoted because of her." Francis stated his thoughts, the wheels in his head turning at a rapid pace.

"I'll find her." Alexander swore, "When I do I'm never letting her out of my sight, edict or not." From then, he explained everything he found out from the Bane Pack about the original betrothal deed that was in the hands of one person whose identity he wasn't able to discover because of Francis' interruption.

"Fuck. This has turned a thousand shades messier. So fucked up. We need to find Isabelle, I have a feeling your intended has a hand in this." Francis voiced out the thoughts running in all of their minds.

"Leave her to me. Damon deal with the demoted wolves, use any and every method possible to wrench out the information you require from them. Make sure you find something vital. Francis, question Leah. We need to know if she was threatened, I feel there's something she's not telling us." Alexander's thoughts ran wild in all directions.

"Why don't we go through the manor and her room's security recordings?" Francis asked, knowing Alexander might not be open to letting them in on her privacy. He was that possessive of his mate.

To their surprise, he agreed.

After going through the camera recordings they found no sign of Isabelle neither in the room nor in any other part of the manor. All the blood in their veins ran cold at the sight of an unknown woman sliding past the doors to her room garbed in the Manor's drab outfit assigned to the chambermaids. The girl was seen placing the letter on the freshly made bed and dropping Isabelle's cell phone on top of it. She walked and with her head lowered, she ambled towards the narrow corridor before disappearing from that particular camera's coverage site.

"Hell!" Alexander let out a string of vile curses as his fisted hand went down the table causing a dent in the heavy metal. "Whoever's fucking up with me should have a death wish."

The three men went on their various ways to conduct the interrogations as they planned to and act in accordance to the plans they made regarding finding Isabelle before it was too late.

Alexander could feel her in him, the gentle throb of her presence gave him the assurance that she was alive and ignited his zeal to find her.

And, to profess his undying love to her in a way that will make her permanently his.

....

**Alexander's P O V.

I stared at the dark haired girl before me wearing an incredulous look. On a normal day I was the polite man who never raises his hands on a female. Today, I feel like gutting one and not looking back.

"I have no idea what you mean, I don't know where your whore went to." She sassed.

Within the blink of an eye I had her against the wall with her throat in my tight grasp, her face was turning a shade of purple at an alarming pace but my wolf was having none of it. It wanted blood and only blood could soothe its pain.

"I'll kill you. You and I both know our betrothal is a sham. I know the truth and it'll be a waste to kill a young girl like you. Speak or suffer a lifetime for being a part of a group who tried to deceive an Alpha for their selfish wishes and reasons. Speak up! "
