Chapter 61|A Clean Slate.

......

**Isabelle's P O V.

Arabella staring at me from the door had my brows lifting. I had no idea she knew the route to my room.

Her eyes darted behind me to Alexander, I guessed as much from the way she averted her gaze, focusing on me alone, "I will like to have a few words with you, if you'll be open to having a conversation with me."

I looked behind me to Alexander who was staring at the both of us with furrowed brows.

"I need to speak with her." I explained, re-tying my hair into a low bun and urging her out of my bedroom to the courtyard.

She looked utterly confused and nervous.

I wanted to soothe her, but I couldn't be blamed for being wary no matter what I might have perceived from her feelings and thoughts.

"About what you said earlier, that to have a fresh start I need to be taken to the Bane Pack. I need it Isabelle. I need it for more reasons than one. I need to have a clue on what my life truly is all about. I need to have a clean slate to start afresh and you're the only one who can make it possible. I know you might not be feeling inclined to help me and I know I might sound selfish after all I've done to you but there's a difference between you and I. You're a good person and I'm the total opposite of that."

I shook my head before she completed the sentence, "You are not a bad person."

Arabella stared incredulously at me. "You might have forgot all I've done to you but I haven't. I have not and will not. I cannot!"

"You shouldn't let what happened in the past rule you. You can be a better person despite what you think." I assured her.

"That's why I wish to comply with your statement to have me there. I don't want to cause a rift between you and the Alpha, I know he doesn't like the idea of you leaving but I wouldn't mind going there alone as long as you let them know I'll be there." She looked so gullible.

"I need to go with you too."

"But the Alpha." She argued.

I reassured her with a nod of my head, "Leave him to me. You need to get ready, we'll be leaving soon." I promised.

.....

Alexander stared at me with what could only be referred to as an incredulous look, his eyes were narrowed and his lips pulled into a thin line. There was tension in his body and from the look of the hold he had on the table the poor furniture looked about ready to break.

"I'm going to be fine. There's no place I'm most secure at like in my own Pack. I belong there."

He rose abruptly up his chair, the piece of furniture falling to the ground, "You belong here, by my side as my mate, the Queen to rule by my side. The De Luca Pack's Luna is what you are not an arbitrator." He raved.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

He wasn't being fair. All I want is to right Arabella's wrongs to her Pack and make the girl right up herself. It was clear as daylight that she was on the brink of suffocating from the weight of all that has been happening, especially her grandfather's betrayal. She's never told me what he said about me yet but I knew it was enough to have her hate me.

Martin is as conniving as any evil man could be. I got that from my grandfather's words. He was desperate.

The girl was only acting to be strong but I saw right through her facade. She was falling hopelessly and it was embarrassing enough for a prideful wolf.

Alexander's hands fell over my sides, caging me in his embrace without really touching me. His breath was fanning my face and his demeanor was harsh.

"Why do you care for a girl who tried to kill you? She should be imprisoned for her deception, damnit!" He swore, raking a hand through his hair.

"She didn't try to kill me. You said it yourself earlier, she was manipulated by her own kin for so many years that it's the sole purpose of her existence. What would you have her thinking?" I reasoned through his adamant scorn of her.

"I don't want to you out of my sight for a minute, I can arrange everything necessary for her to depart and be in London by tomorrow morning. You don't need to be there." He sulked.

"I do, my presence there is vital. You won't even know I'm gone, before you feel my absence I'll be back and by your side. I promise."

Alexander scoffed, "Hell if you think so, I'll feel every second of it, every hour until I become as restless as a caged wolf. Snarling at everyone who comes my way."

I smiled at the expression that went with his admission.

"We need this, it'll be the start of a new life for her and myself. Don't you want Lucas to have what you do? He wants her and she wants him too but they both need to set things right first before they're able to act on their feelings."

I spent over an hour convincing him, Old Bea had to intervene before he let me, the woman was broken after Leah's treachery was brought out in the open. She did not see it coming.

The ride to the Bane Pack was a short one, Alexander did all in his power to make it comfortable and well secured. He almost went with us but decided against it at the last minute knowing he had situations that needed his dire attention at the Pack, mainly regarding my abduction and the stinky men in his Pack that got manipulated into acting under Martin's spell. Willingly or not.

Lest to say, he gave me a literally resounding kiss that I felt all the way to my toes, a promise to check up on me and a threat to come pick me up himself if I overused my stay there.

You hear that?

Overused my stay in my own rightful home.

This time I didn't fight the urge to roll my eyes at him. I did so openly and repeatedly.
