Chapter 67|Snitched.

.....

Leah strode past the security guarding the large club in a skimpy cropped top and a short skirt only stopping when she got to the door that separated her from her target audience. Her dark hair cascaded down her back in waves as her expression hardened, it was totally guarded.

The bald bouncer talked into his ear plug, asked for her id and led her into the dimly lit VIP section of the club. A nod from afar had her straightening the edge of her short skirt and moving farther into the room to the spot where Martin was seated, by his side was Sylvester Skorr and Adrianno Dimitri, the oldest Elder of the De Luca Pack and someone Leah had no idea worked for their team.

Incredible, she thought with a smirk.

She took the seat opposite to them and took off her dark sunglasses.

They all three acknowledged her with a nod that made Leah's mouth unleash with the thoughts in her head and the onslaught of emotions barreling over her at every passing moment.

"Martin, your granddaughter has confessed all of your plans to my brother, tainting my name in the process. I thought my gain here was to grow a closer relationship and form a stronger bond with my brother not have it loosening until it's held by nothing but mere wisps of thread! That wasn't the plan Martin, I'm losing here. I've lost all I have." Her fist fell on the top of the table in a thud.

Aggravated, Leah huffed as a dozen pair of eyes turned to her instantly, looking all ready to strike given the slightest opportunity and inclination to. She raised her hands in mock surrender at the men willing to serve the purpose of getting rid of anyone who dared to defy their leader without a second's worth of thought.

The man was looking too smug for her liking when she had too much at stake.

Leah shook her head wildly, stray strands of her hair sticking to her forehead in disarray, "We made a pact. You promised to hold your end of the bargain, I did my part.."

Martin moved closer, his elbow resting on the table and his face held up in his hands in a derisive gesture. "Oh Did you?" He asked, interrupting her mid-sentence. "Which part did you do?" He emphasized on the 'do' strongly.

Leah gawked at the man, her eyes straying to Skorr who was staring intently and unabashedly at her with a wicked gleam to his eyes. Her heart raced faster as thoughts of their secret took refuge in her head, the part she took in the sin by far eclipsed that of Skorr but in all honesty, they were supposed to share equal blames because neither did she force him to find a solution to their mishap nor was it her fault at all that they'd lost Isabelle after feeding her the drug.

"I did my part. I killed Isabelle." Her words were firm. Her resolve unshaken.

"You fed her the antidote you mean? But are you sure you killed her as you say? Skorr, what do you have to say about her fictitious story?" Dimitri asked, looking every inch a hardened man.

Leah felt the colour drain in her face as the implication behind his words dawned on her. Skorr was the only one who knew what truly happened regarding the fiasco behind Isabelle's death and the smirk on his face was telling her too much to believe she could walk out of the dark lit room unscathed.

She scanned her surroundings in a demure once-over, searching for a way to flee without being caught and when she found none she turned to the men waiting for an explanation from her.

Summoning courage she blew air past her lips, "I fed Isabelle the drug, she died and we brought to you her corpse, did we not Skorr?" She bravely stood her ground.

Skorr smiled impishly at her, looking like he was about ready to ruffle her adorable hair. She stared at him hard, wishing she could read what was running through his mind. Unable to, Leah concluded right there and then that he was a slimy man to do business with. His grin was too appalling.

"True, you fed her the drug, and according to you she died. But, her corpse was never found. Leah concocted a plan to con Martin into believing the red haired woman she brought to him was Isabelle's body without knowing that he was too clever to be fooled by a midget of a girl. You see, you don't play such games with men who have been in the business for so long. Martin burnt that girl knowing she wasn't the target. He was waiting for you to come out clean but you refused to, you thought you were clever but now you know what you are, you're nothing but a smidgen whose death won't even be mourned by the people she's doing all this for, the Alpha's lips won't even curve in dismay at the news of your death, or Lucas, pfft, that boy could celebrate your death in one of his pathetic parties. You'll be considered good riddance." Skorr turned to the two men with a sinister grin.

"Say, an accident that took away her limbs and left her for the wolves to munch on wouldn't be too tragic will it?" He asked looking ready to kill.

Both men smirked in agreement.

Leah felt the blood in her veins run cold at the contents his words entailed. They were threatening to kill her for deceiving them. For lying to them. How much Skorr had tactfully took his part out of the story had her staring at him in bewilderment. He made it seem as though she acted on her own all through.

All her past efforts forgotten. Skorr snitched on her, the fraud!

"Listen here little girl, I've killed too many men for crimes much smaller than yours. It'll be a shame to waste such a pretty young girl, we have more ways to make you wish you never met us or played your silly childish trick on us." Martin's grin was devilish.
