Chapter 32
The night had finally come to an end and Emil stood by the door bidding his guests goodnight along with his brother, Marco, since Antonio had been missing for a while now but they were sure he was probably off somewhere with a woman.
Some of the guests were to spend the night since they had come from a long distance so the Ferrari mansion was pretty packed with guests and will be for the next few days.
"It is safe to say that the ball was a success" Marco said with a smile.
Emil gave a nod of his head and said "I guess we could say that"
"I saw you dancing with Tatiana, she is still going after you I see" Marco said with a sly smile on his face.
Emil could not help rolling his eyes "A little self respect will go a long way in making Tatiana a much more presentable woman" he said.
Marco laughed as they nodded in greeting to some of their guests who were leaving.

"Tatiana can be really tiresome when she wants to be" Marco said.
"Is she gone?" Emil asked.
"Unfortunately, no, she will be staying a few days" Marco replied with a mischievous smile on his face.
Emil let out a sigh and said "I don't even care, that's not my problem"
"Where is Andrea? She left the hall early" Marco asked.
Emil's brows creased a little forming a frown on his face, he had gone back to find Andrea after his dance with Tatiana but her mood had dropped, she barely said a word and her mind seemed distant, after a few minutes, she had complained of a headache and excused herself.
"She had a headache I believe" Emil said before shaking the hand of an aged Don who was leaving.
"You looked great dancing with her earlier, you looked happy even" Marco said.
Emil simply shrugged his shoulders and said "Maybe I was and maybe I was not"
Marco smiled and decided to let the matter be, he knew this was not a topic his brother enjoyed talking about.
It was somewhere around 2:00am before the guests finished leaving and the room was finally empty.
"Well I can't say that I want to do that anytime soon, I am wasted" Marco said as he massaged his shoulder.
Emil smiled and said "You should get some rest, it's very late"
Marco nodded and a yawn escaped his lips "Have a good night brother" he said as he waved his brother goodnight.
Emil smiled and waved him as well "Good night Marco"
He turned to his security detail and said "Make sure everything is in order and there are no intruders in the house"
The bodyguard cleared his throat and said "There was an attack on the Severino family's warehouse earlier tonight"
"What? When did this happen and why I am just finding out about it?" Emil asked as he figured this was probably the reason Andrea had been in that mood earlier.
The bodyguard cleared his throat again and said "The party was still going on and your guests were still at the party, I felt it was best to wait until you were alone to inform you"
Emil felt upset about this but decided he was not in the mood for any scolding tonight "How bad was the attack?" He said instead.
"The entire thing was burnt to the ground and everyone there was killed, they are saying millions were lost and over 30 people died" the bodyguard said.
"This was bad" Emil thought.
"Do they know who is responsible?" Emil asked.
"No, Don Ferrari, they have no idea yet" the bodyguard said.
Emil let out a sigh "Keep me informed on this" he said.
"Yes Don Ferrari, I will find out everything by tomorrow" the bodyguard said.
Emil turned around and headed in the direction of his bedroom, this attack on the Severino family was going to cause a lot of problems, he was certain of it and it gave him a bad feeling.
He passed by his former room which was Andrea's room for now, he wanted to pass straight to his bedroom but he felt he had to check on her.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door, there was silence, then he knocked again.
"Who is it?" Her voice called from inside the room.
Emil pushed the door open and walked in, there she was not on the huge bed, she looked so small and vulnerable sitting on the like that, her hair had been tied in a loose braid, her cream coloured nightwear almost blended with her skin colour.
"Who is it?" She asked again.
Emil cleared his throat, he had been in a trance of some sort just by looking at her.
"I am sorry, I did not mean to wake you, I just wanted to see how you were feeling now" Emil said.
He noticed that she immediately tensed up at the sound of his voice and a frown immediately settled on his face, why was she suddenly getting tensed around him? He thought they were past this by now.
"Thank you for checking up on me, I am feeling much better now, I just had to lie down, that's all" she said, her voice was low and small.
Emil wanted to ask her about the attack on her family's warehouse but he was not sure if she was aware already.
He opened his mouth to say something but she interrupted him "Did you know about the attack on my family's warehouse tonight?" She said.
"I just found out about it now, I am sorry something like that happened to your family, I will try my best to find who is responsible for it" Emil said.
"So you have nothing to do with the attack right?" She asked.
Emil frowned "I am sorry, what do you mean?" He asked.
"I am asking if you have any thing to do with this attack, I want to know if you gave the order" she asked.
Emil was surprised, this was the last question he expected to hear from her.
"You are tired, you should get some sleep" Emil said and turned to leave.
"You should answer me Emil, make me understand that you are not responsible for this" She said from behind him.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips and then he said "You must really think so little of me Andrea, you believe I will hurt your family after I gave my word that I will maintain the peace, after I married you"
"Can you blame me for thinking otherwise? For as long as I could remember, your family has been my family's greatest enemies, so who am I to blame for this?" Andrea said.
Emil chuckled and said "I will not argue with you Andrea, you have made your decision in your mind already, you do not need me to tell you otherwise" and then he turned to leave the room.
"Answer me please Emil, I have to know, I just need to hear it from you" she said.
Emil paused in his stride then he said "I had nothing to do with the attack on your family and if I did, I will not hide it away like some scared coward, I will tell you to your face that I was responsible for whatever it was you think I did, I am not a man that is afraid of the consequences of his actions but if you think I am liar or a coward then you really do not know me"
Andrea felt her heart breaking when he said this "Emil...." She started to say but she was caught short by Emil.
"It's late Andrea, you should get some sleep" he said and before she could say anything else, he was out of the room and the sound of the door closing broke Andrea's heart.
She had never been so confused in her entire life, Lorenzo had no reason to lie to her and she did not really know Emil but her told her he will never do anything to hurt her.
She lay in bed tossing and turning for hours before sleep finally claimed her.
