Chapter 50
Anna walked into the house feeling like someone who had just being released from a trance, she was still in shock from the events that happened in the last hour.
From the car chase to the kiss and finally, the conversation she had with Antonio Ferrari before coming home.
As she walked into her room, she could not help replaying the entire conversation in her head.
After he had kissed her, he had said "Can you give a few minutes of your time? I really need to speak to you about something important"
Like someone in a hypnotic state, she had simply nodded at him.
He smiled and said "How about you get in your car Anna? You still need to drive to where we are going you know"
Anna had nodded once again and got into her car like he asked her to do.
When she was in her car, she finally snapped out of her hypnotic state.
"What the hell are you doing Anna? Are you really planning on going with him?" She asked herself.
The best thing for her was to run away, this might still be a trap, he might have been sent to bring her in.
She looked at him through her side view mirror, he had a smile on his face as he got into his car.
Anna felt her heart racing in her chest, she knew it was wrong to be around Antonio Ferrari but she has been drawn to him from the very first time she had seen him at the party.
Her phone beeped from inside her purse, she reached for the purse and took out her phone.
Switching it on, she realised she had a text message from an unsaved number.
"Don't even think of running away, I will always find you" the text message read.
Anna felt her skip a beat in her chest.
"How did you manage to end up in this much trouble" Anna said to herself as she started her car and followed his as he drove back in the direction of town.
She had followed him all the way to a small trendy cafe, he got out and headed towards her car, he opened her door and helped her out.
"Shall we?" He asked her with a smile as he held out his hand.
She stared at his hand for a few seconds before placing hers in it.
"I would have sworn you were a chatty person but you seem quiet" he asked once they were seated.
"How did you find me?" She asked.
Antonio smiled again and said "I am a man with a lot of connections and power, I can find any one I wish"
"And what is it that you want me exactly?" Anna asked him.
"I wanted to know why you left without saying goodbye that morning" Antonio said.
Anna was not sure what to say to that "It was supposed to be a one night stand and nothing more" she said to him.
"You decided that all on your own Anna Marie, you never asked for my opinion before you decided to leave" Antonio said.
"I really don't have the time for this, I should leave" Anna said as she grabbed her purse and began to leave.
"Are you hesitant to speak to me because of your brother?" Antonio asked.
Anna stilled immediately he said that, he knew about Lorenzo and if he knew then the Severinos were aware as well.
Anna sat down slowly "What do you want from me?" She said.
Antonio shrugged and said "I just want to get to know you, that's all"
Anna was speechless, what did someone say to something like that?
"What do you know about my brother?" She asked me.

Antonio shrugged his shoulders and said "I know he has some major beef with the Severino family and I am sure you do as well but that is not my business, as long it does not affect my family"
"Is that even right?" Anna said to herself but it seemed like she had said it out loud because he smiled and said "It might not be most morally sound idea but I am not a complicated man, I want a simple life and nothing more"
Anna had nothing more to say after that and when she told him she would like to return home, he had not tried to stop her.
"Do me a favour Cara, pick up the phone when I call" he had said to her after walking her to her car.
She had simply nodded and got into her car, she had not understood the whole event all through her drive home and even now, as she sat in front of her dressing mirror, she still could not wrap her head around the whole thing.
With a sigh, she pulled at the scarf around her neck, she had worn it to cover the marks left by Lorenzo's hands, it was now an ugly purple mark on her neck and it hurt just a little when she touched it.
She wondered how Lorenzo would react if he found out she had been caught in an entanglement with Antonio Ferrari, she shuddered to think about what he might to do to her.
"A penny for your thoughts" Lorenzo said from behind her.
Anna jumped as her eyes caught his in the mirror, she quickly forced a smile on her face "Hey Lorenzo, I didn't see you there, when did you get back?" She said in a cheerful voice as she turned to face him.
He walked into the room, his eyes fixed on her, Anna felt her heart pounding in her chest, had he found out about Antonio?
He stopped when he got to where she was sitting, he stretched out his hand, Anna held her breath, his fingertips brushed the bruise on her neck and she flinched away.
"I am sorry Anna, I had no reason to do this to you, I should never cause you pain, you are my sister for heaven's sake" he said, his eyes held sadness and regret but Anna was still scared.
"I know you didn't mean it, you were just angry that's all" Anna said with a smile on her face, she was trying her best to convince him so that he could step away from her, she could barely breathe.
Lorenzo was quiet for a while then he stepped back and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"So what did you today?" Anna asked him, hoping to lighten the mood though her heart was still racing in her chest.
Lorenzo's face suddenly lit up "I had the most interesting day today" he said.
"Really? Tell me all about it" Anna said.
"Dante Severino wants to make peace with me, can you imagine that? He claims to want to right his wrongs" Lorenzo said with a laugh.
Anna froze, she had not been expecting that.
"What?" She asked.
"The high and mighty Dante Severino wants to reconcile, he even apologized to me, I still find the whole thing comical" he said.
"That's a good thing right, we can forget all about this revenge and start our lives afresh" Anna said.
"What the hell are you talking about Anna? We must complete our revenge on them, we have started it so we must finish it and nothing will stand in my way" Lorenzo said, his eyes had suddenly darkened and he was looking at in the manner that made her blood run cold.
She nodded quickly and said "You are absolutely right, we must finish it"
Lorenzo smiled suddenly and said "That's the spirit Anna, we are closer than ever to actualising our dream of revenge"
Anna nodded and smiled.
"Something is coming and they will not know when it will hit them, the Ferrari and Severino combined" Lorenzo said.
"The Ferrari family??" Anna asked, panic suddenly rising deep inside her chest.
"They are all our enemies now and we will tear them all apart, I promise" Lorenzo said, the joy was evident in his eyes.
Anna forced a smile again.
She was really beginning to understand the saying of a rock and a hard place.
