Chapter 48
The moment Andrea stepped into the mansion, she felt the tension, the guards at the gate were in a somber mood and she could feel the tension from Julia and the driver as well. She did not require the services of a soothsayer to tell her Emil had found out about her leaving the house.
"Oh Dio aiutami" Julia said in panic.
"Calm down Julia, you have nothing to worry about" Andrea said.
"But Donna, you have no idea how scary Don Ferrari can be when he is upset, you have no idea what he will do to me, what if he kills me?" Julia said as tears spilled from her eyes.
"Then he is even worse a man than I thought him to be initially" Andrea thought with spite.
She opened the door and got out, Julia rushed to her side to lead her into the house.
Once they got to the bedroom door, Andrea said to Julia "Wait for me, I will find you when I am done, you will be fine, I promise"
Julia wanted to believe her but she knew that Don Ferrari's anger was bad and she was in very big trouble but all the same, she smiled and said "Yes Donna, I will be in the kitchen if you need me"
Andrea smiled before reaching for the doorknob, she turned it and walked into the room.
Emil watched her walk into the room, she looked like she had been crying, her eyes were swollen and her face was all red and blotchy, for some reason, this only fueled his anger.
"Emil?" She called out.
"Andrea" he replied, the ice in his voice must have been sharp enough to cut through skin.
"Why are you in my room?" She asked.
A frigid chuckle escaped his lips "This is my house Andrea, I can go wherever I want" he said.
"You do not get to come into my room as you please Emil, I may be your wife but I also require my privacy and right now, I do not want you anywhere close to my bedroom" she said.
Emil laughed a dry humourles laughter that sent icy shivers running up her spine.
He stood up from the chair he had been sitting on and walked toward her.
"Where have you been Andrea?" He asked.
"I do not want to tell you" she replied, defiance dripping from every word she spoke.
"I asked you not to leave the house Andrea and you expressly disobeyed me" Emil said as he stood towering above her.
"I was not aware that I was a prisoner" she replied.
"You are making it hard for me to reason with you Andrea" Emil said.
"Reason?" Andrea said with a smile "Is it now considered reasonable to lie andbl accuse an innocent man just because you can? Do not speak to me of reason Emil because you know nothing of it" Andrea said, her anger was loud and evident in every word she spoke.
Emil's anger sparked to life once more "Foolish girl, how can you be so foolish as to not know the words of a liar when you hear them? I had believed you were a smart woman but it turns out I had never been more wrong about anything in my entire life" he snapped at her.
" I hear only one liar Emil and it is not the man you have chosen to accuse" Andrea snapped as well.
Emil's eyes widened in surprise, he had known she cared for Lorenzo but he had not believed that her affections for him ran this deep.
He shook his head "It is pointless trying to get you to see reason because you will not listen Andrea, believe what you wish but I will also do what I decide" Emil said and began walking towards the door.
"You better not hurt Lorenzo, leave him alone" Andrea said.
Emil ignored her and kept walking.
"Emil, I mean it, if you hurt Lorenzo, I will never forgive you" she said angrily.
Every word she said fueled his anger and he just had to leave before he said or did something he might end up regretting later.
"You are nothing but a tyrant Emil, you abuse your power and you enjoy it when people fear you, that is the sort of man you are" Andrea said, the tears were pouring from her eyes again.
Emil got to the door and paused for a second before he said.
"You will remain here in this room until you realise that disobedience comes with consequences and they must be faced"
"You can not treat me like a prisoner Emil, you can not lock me in here" Andrea said.
"Watch me" Emil said and with that, he walked out of the room shutting the door behind him, his guards were waiting by the corridor.
"I want two men at her door at all times, nobody goes in except for important issues" he said and walked past them.
"Yes Don Ferrari" they replied.
Emil's anger had reached dizzying heights, Lorenzo DeLuca had to go once and for all, Andrea's anger be damned, he was only doing what was best for her after all.

Antonio's car was parked in front of a house, the DeLuca mansion, he had been parked in front of the house for the past 30 minutes.
His people has tracked the woman from the the party to this address, he knew her name now, Anna Marie DeLuca, he knew everything there was to know about her now, he knew even what highschool she had attended so that meant he also knew her family history and also the fact that Lorenzo DeLuca was her brother which was why it was a bad idea for him to be parked in front of her house like a creepy stalker but he could not help himself.
"This is stupid" he said to himself after he caught himself peering through his window into the gate of the huge house.
"I should just go home, this is madness" Antonio said out loud and reached for his keys to start the car.
All of sudden the high gates opened and a car drove out.
It was the golden hair gleaming in the sunlight that caught his attention, it was her, it was Anna Marie DeLuca, Antonio panicked for a second trying to decide whether or not to follow her car or not.
"Fuck it" he said finally and turned the key in the ignition, bringing the car to life, he tailed her car keeping a good distance between them but still close enough to keep her in his sight.
He had been following her for a few minutes, it seemed like she was heading to town but then all of a sudden she deviated and turned in the direction leading to the outskirts of town, She had sped up as well.
Antonio smiled as he figured she must have noticed him tailing her and she was trying to lose him.
"This should be fun" Antonio said with a smile on his face as he sped up as well.
Anna could not understand why someone was tailing her, was it possible that Lorenzo had been found out and they had also come for her.
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she took shady turn and dangerous swerves, she was not exactly familiar with the downtown but she had lose the tail they had put on her and from what she could see, they were very resilient, they kept following her at a steady pace.
The turns and swerves were getting too complicated for her to keep up with and what was worse was that she had no idea where she was going.
Antonio smiled, she was winging it, she had no idea where she going, he was certain she will end up at a dead end soon, the only she could escape him was if she decided to abandon the car and continue on foot and that was highly unlikely.
Another smile pulled at the side of his lips, he had wondered what he was going to say to her when they met again but this was definitely something he never would have thought about, a car chase was certainly a novel idea.
Anna took another turn and she was met with a road so narrow that there was nowhere she could go, she had to immediately match the brakes to stop her from crashing into a walk.
"Fuck!" Anna cursed.
She was trapped, was this really the end for her? Was she going to get caught here and what was going to happen to her after that?
She sat in the car thinking about the best way to get out this situation, she had warned Lorenzo to be discreet no matter what but his recklessness had gotten them both in trouble, she was certainly not expecting mercy from the Severinos.
A tap on the glass had another curse escaping her lips, her heart was pounding in her chest, with shaking hands and moist eyes, she raised her head to look at the person outside her car.
Her heart skipped multiple beats when she saw Antonio Ferrari standing outside the car with a smile on his face.
"Hello Cara" he said, a smile on his handsome face.
Anna was confused and scared at the same time but then all a sudden, she realised he was not here to abduct her or anything of the sort.
She opened the door quickly, anger was suddenly reigning supreme over the fear and confusion.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Are you some sort of mad man or what" she snapped at him.
Antonio could not help smiling, he knew it was wrong to smile when she was so furious but he could not help it.
There was something about her blazing eyes and heated face that simply appealed to him.
"Are you smiling right now? After chasing me like a stalker or something even worse" Anna said angrily.
Anna could not even begin to understand why he was here in the first place.
Antonio took a step closer to her and she took one back quickly, the smile on his face widened and before she could understand what was happening, he leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss, surprise froze her in place, she could not move, she simply stood petrified as she felt a familiar pair of lips against her own.
He pulled away slowly, the smile still on his face "Hello Anna Marie, it's wonderful to see you again" he said, his eyes boring into hers and she realised that she could not look away.
With panic, Anna realised she was in trouble.
