Chapter nineteen

Chapter nineteen - You claimed her

"You can't hide her... Lead her into the deepest, darkest woods, I shall still follow. Until my last breath, I shall fight, for one day she will be mine."

[L U K A S]

Howls of pain filled the thin air as I kept counting seconds, which soon turned into minutes and later on in hours. The professor hasn't bothered to visit me again, so all I have seen was nothing more than the staff bringing me some food once a day.
It's weird how he doesn't want to see me dead, yet won't bother to give me proper meals. Something is off with that man and I sure as Hell will figure out what.

My father hasn't made an appearance just yet, but I have a feeling that it might change. He can't just sit his ass down and act like nothing is happening like he doesn't know that he has a son. A son, God damn it. Somehow I managed to push all thought about my father and his sick ways away from my mind.

Then there was her. Only she...
I know that my mother is alright, she has found herself a great pack to live within and everyone would protect her, so would our coven.
But... But Kato.
Who would protect her? Her family and pack, of course, yet I still feel like I would do so much better job in that. I should be there. Sometimes I feel like I am a slave to my own emotions because, with all that I felt now, I accidentally broke out of the chains. Again. God damn it.
It's the third time this week when my thoughts wander to her and as if on instinct, I just break out and almost escape this building.
Who am I even kidding? It wouldn't be any near to escape, a peaceful walk around the grounds more like.

I sat down on the professor's chair and signed, looking up at the plain ceiling. Does she miss me?
Is she worried about me? Hell, would the thought of me ever cross her mind?

As I let myself to zoom out a bit, the door of the room opened. I could feel the person standing in the doorway. The aura was dominant and powerful at first, but soon, when the door was finally fully open, the aura changed to frightened.

"Come in, father", I groaned.

"Like I need a damn invitation to enter any room in this palace. Remember your place, boy, I'm the damn King and you're a fucking piece of shit", he growled as he stomped into the room.

"You are the King, yes, I do recall it. A pretty shitty King, to add. And I'm a fucking piece of shit, you say? That's funny, because the last time when I checked, I was the only rightful heir to both thrones - yours and my mothers. Now, what were you saying?", I smirked, still not bothering to look his way. He doesn't deserve it. He doesn't deserve even an insult being thrown his way, not to mention me looking into his eyes. Prick.

He didn't reply or argue, instead he let his body sink into the chair in front of mine. The chair, in which I had to sit, whenever the professor wanted to get my blood for his tests. Not like he would find anything interesting there.

"How is she?", he sighed and covered his face with his palms.

"Happy without you, if you're asking about my mother", I don't want to talk to him, I don't. But whatever I say will hurt him, first I will destroy him mentally, emotionally, afterward attacking psychically. I'm not here to play happy little family, I'm not here to redeem his sins or beg for forgiveness, even more, to forgive him. I am here to destroy him, his pride and strength, everything that he has been working and fighting for. Piece by piece I will crash him, later on watching how he begs for mercy. And he will get none, for my mother was never granted the gift of mercy.

"Figured", was all that he said. Tense silence grew between us, none of both bothering to throw a glance at others. I kept counting seconds, letting my mind wander off to Kato, again. The way she spoke, the way her body moves, the way she looks at me. I don't care if her glaze holds anger and hate, as long as it's turned towards me, I'm fine. All she has to do is look at me, nothing more and nothing less.

"You found her", my father spoke, ripping me out of the trance I was in just now.

"Huh?".

"Your mate", I could feel the smirk growing on his lips, he was celebrating victory in his mind. He thought he has found my weak spot. Well, he did find it, not that it could help him.

"I don't have a mate", I coldly replied.

"Alright, beloved or whatever you bloodsuckers call mates", he tried to correct himself. Why though? Isn't he the all mighty King, who never makes mistakes?

"I don't have a beloved, I don't have a mate", how much more bullshit can this man talk about?

"You're thinking about her, I can see it. I remember myself, how I felt when I first met Lillith, how I became ruthless and vulnerable, whenever I thought about her", if this wasn't him talking, I would believe that having a mate is something truly magical. If it wasn't him...

"One more word about my mother and you're dead, old man", tone of my voice didn't change. No emotions at all. On the inside I was boiling alive, I was ready to rip his head off right here, right now. But he will have to wait. It's not so easy to trigger me and I won't give in to temptation. Not just now.

"She rejected you, didn't she? After finding out who are you, she simply rejected you. You shouldn't blame her, no one in their right mind would agree to live among the freak of nature, such as you are", he smirked. Damn, is this dude trying to push my buttons?

"If you have to know, yes, yes she did. And no, not because of finding out who I am I. I asked her to do so. Claiming her was a mistake, I was an impulsive idiot. After all, someone had to protect her, right? Her father wasn't quite happy to find out who tried to kill his daughter, neither did the council. Good luck in explaining yourself", I laughed coldly. The facial expression he held was priceless.
How funny it is, the big bad wolf, the King himself, afraid of some council and one tiny Alpha. Coward.

"Who is she?", he yelled, standing up from his chair faster than a bullet.

"I assume you know who is the most respected and feared Alpha on your lands?", raising one eyebrow in question, I finally turned my face towards him.

He visibly swallowed the lump in his throat and nod.

"His daughter. The one I claimed is Valentino's daughter. To make everything better, he was pretty found to find out who I am. Who my father is and who my mother is. Isn't this fun? I think it very much is. Of course, your people isn't as happy to find out that you almost started a war, by sending assassins their way, but oh well, who else but the King could deal with this?", his body was shaking in anger, I swear it looked like he could shift any moment and lunge at me. But he didn't. His eyes didn't turn a different color, as it's supposed to happen when royal blood werewolf was being disrespected. I guess that he lost his wolf. Not to anyone's surprise.

"What is it, father? Cat got your tongue? Lost your wolf? Maybe you're willing to meet mine? He says his name is Thanatos, I pretty much fancy it. Suits his violent animalistic nature. Oh, how long had it been since he got out since I let him go and do whatever he wants, without holding him hostage... See, that's a funny thing about us, halfbreeds, we do have wolves, but we also have more control over the beasts, more than you could ever have", as last words left my lips, he rushed out of the room, his face red and body tense.

"Come visit any time, he says he would like to meet you. In-person", I yelled at him and sighed. Now back to more important matters. I should go out for a walk. Maybe to Valentino's territory. Maybe I feel like stalking my chosen beloved. Who knows?
Damn, she looks like a Goddess, when she's sleeping. Not that I'd know, after all, I'm not a creep. Alright, maybe I am. Just a little bit, and just for her... She is one of a kind...
