Chapter three
Chapter three - Even the strongest ones break
"All dogs think they're an Alpha until they meet a wolf. Until they see the beast unleashing its true power."

I sat down next to her bed, slowly placing my hand onto hers, carefully observing her features.
The chair I sat on has become way too comfortable for my likings during this whole time I've spent here.
The small hospital room has become my office, bedroom, and dining room over the past month.
She still hasn't moved a muscle, not a sound left her, absolutely drained out of the spark of life she once held on so desperately.
My daughter, my firstborn, the treasure I held as the most important in my life, she was gone.
Over time all have been left was an empty shell.
Her skin was pale, veins, and even bones visible through it.
I couldn't stand this anymore.
I haven't left her since that moment, when I found her in our car back seat, barely holding onto her life.
A weak knock echoed through the silent hospital room. I sighed.
"You are not welcome here," I stated, speaking through gritted teeth. It took all my will power to hold myself back from yelling and trashing this whole damned room. As much as I wanted her to open her eyes, I was afraid of waking her up. It's strange, yet my rational side knew that she needs time.
The door slowly opened, and a tall, slim male slowly slid into it.
"I am deeply sorry for disturbing you at such a moment, Alpha, but I don't hold any harm or bad intentions. I came to show support from myself and my people to you, your family, and people in this hard time," his voice, as always, sounding calm and slender. In the past month, I've grown to hate these creatures, the ones I was fighting for.
"I need no support from you, or yours, as you say, people. I highly suggest you leave this room, hospital, and pack itself, Lord," my voice held power and demand. I didn't want him or even someone alike of him around my family or pack.
After all, one of those blood-sucking monsters was the blame for distracting me from the only person who mattered at that point.
"My friend, I am truly sorry for what happened to your child, and so are my people. We pray for her to live, but we hold no responsibility in what has happened. We're still trying to trace down men, who stood next to the borders before your arrival, we have sent countless messages to our King, in the hope of his support and help. I do understand that this is no moment for us to talk about business, but we can't wait any longer," he sighed and made a few steps closer to the bed.
I didn't need more; one thing was for him even to come here. He dared to disrespect me, my orders on my land. He threatens to come close to my child.
A low growl erupted from my chest as I didn't even felt any urge to hold back the beast in me. Without any hesitation, I gave him full control.
My hand, under my wolf's command, wrapped around Vampires's neck, and his body slammed into the wall, with my grip still tight around his throat.
"You don't learn from mistakes, don't you, Lord?" my wolf splat at him. By now, my eyes have become blood red, as all I felt was a thirst for blood and destruction. For pain and chaos, thirst for terrified screams of agony filling my ears.
"Both of us are walking on thin ice, my friend- me, for coming here in such time and trying to renew the peace agreement, basically putting my own life in your hands. You, for challenging the whole community," he didn't sound afraid of me; he was rather calm.
"Don't wait for any fucking agreement from me. The deal is off," I growled at the vampire.
"I had a feeling this would be your answer. Would you need some time to reconsider it? If not, both of us know what that means," he barely whispered.
"This means a fucking war. Your people came for my family; I won't stop myself until I find the one who did this to my child. Mark my words Lord, because I will kill any fucker in my way, if needed, to get him. I shall not stop until I find him. Pray for his lost soul, because when I get him, he'll beg for death," I felt hate building into me more and more with each word spoken. With each breath I took.
"I can assure you that none of my people meant to harm. The one you're searching for, he isn't one of us, at least not anyone from my territories," he looked down at my hand, wrapped around his throat, and raised an eyebrow.
Finally, I loosened my hold and let him go.
"I just need to know why I just need my child back and that fucker dead," I sighed in frustration.
"Can I take a look? At her neck? With your permission, of course," he asked curiously.
On any other occasion, I'd say no, but I was desperate. As much as I didn't like Lord's presence, I knew he might have the answer.
I nod my head in agreement and slowly backed off, still holding a safe distance if I needed to kill him fast.
He carefully made his way to the bed. Slowly, looking up at me, he once again waited for my approval, so I just gestured him to continue.
He slowly turned Kato's head to the side and took a closer look at my child's neck.
"Wait, this can't be true. How old is your pup, if I may ask?" Lord sounded worried, even a bit scared, which was a rare thing for Vampires to feel. On most occasions, they lived like robots without emotions, just killing machines, and nothing more.
"She's about to turn eight," I spoke coldly. The Lord knows it hurts me for even seeing my pup like this, but I can't let him hear it from my voice.
"Odd," he hummed and kept an intense glaze on her neck.
"What is it?"
"Well, let's start with the fact that whoever did this, he didn't have an intention to kill your daughter," he looked up at me, holding eye contact to prove that he was speaking the truth. Even his voice sounded like he wasn't lying.
"So, what was he trying to do?" I asked curiously.
"She's bearing a mark. This is not a killers bite; this is an ancient ownership mark. Your pup has been claimed at such a young age already. Whoever did this, he is powerful and ancient, I'd assume at least 600 years old, if not older," he put so much thought in what he just said, I couldn't control myself, my jaw hung low.
"Hmmm," I hummed, imitating actions people tend to make while thinking, like merely raising my hand and placing it close to my mouth.
"I assume this won't end well, right? Just let me warn you that finding someone so ancient will be quite challenging, so will killing this creature be".
"I don't care. Someone's about to die," with that said, I pushed the Vampire through the door, slamming it shut.
After a few deep breaths, I sat back down next to my child and gently squeezed her hand.
"I'll find him, baby, I promise. And when I will, the Hell will set loose over him," I lowered my head next to her fragile figure and soon after sleep overtook. I was so damn exhausted.
