Chapter six

Chapter six - Maybe I'll enjoy it

"Every girl dream of a bad boy, who would treat her like a queen. Every bad boy dreams of a girl who would go bad for him."

I groaned in annoyance as my mother kept knocking on my bedroom door.

"Lukas Cole Williams, get your ass out of that bed this instant! Help me higher power for I am not responsible for beating my own damn kid's ass!" she yelled.

I chuckled loudly, for what I earned my mother becoming more violent on knocking. I mean, I could stay in bed, but I'm not in the mood to get a new door again.

"Remind me why am I supposed to wake up, mom," I yawned in between the words and stretched my body, still laying on the bed.

"School," she said in the sweetest voice ever.

"Mother, I'm too old for that shit, I graduated centuries ago," I'm sure this will piss her off even more. No, not because of my attitude, more because I'm speaking the truth.

"Who gives a flying fuck? Listen, Lukas, you still look like a teenager, and since we live on packs territory, you have to go to school. Alphas orders. After graduation we are going to visit your father", the last sentence was barely whispered, but she knew that I'd hear it — perks of being a freak.
"Even more, you're a handsome young man; I'm sure you'll be popular in school. Nobody will dare to say anything, Vampires and werewolves live amongst each other so that nobody would question you," she said excitedly.

I swear to God she's more excited about this damn school thing than I am.

"Ugh fine, but just, JUST for you," I groaned and got out of the bed.

"Lukas, I am so going to pay for your next tattoo, now open the door," she squirmed.

I got to the door in second and instantly opened it. My mother knows how to buy me, that's for sure.

"Son, you stink, take a shower and meet me downstairs in five," she winked at me and left, without waiting for any response from me.
I sighed and closed the door. I swear, my mother tends to act more teenagers alike than I do.

After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth, I went to the closet. Of course, I have to make an impression on the first day, so nobody would try to mess with me. I have never been the most social person, except the times when I get into fights or trouble. I want to describe myself as innocent and say that most of the cases are just a dumb misunderstanding, but my mother begs to differ. She has always been entirely sure that I enjoy dancing on the line between life and death. Well, maybe, I do.

I choose ripped skinny jeans, combat boots, a plain white V-line shirt, and a bomber jacket.
I didn't bother to look in the mirror, instead just grabbed my phone, backpack, and car keys on my way downstairs.

"Lukas, you look amazing," my mother cooed.

"Yeah, as always. Anyway, I'll be on my way," I kissed her cheek and left the kitchen.

"How about the breakfast?" she yelled from behind me when I was about to open the front door.

"I'll stop by the cafe to get some coffee, not feeling hungry mom," I smiled brightly at her, and she instantly loosened her attitude.

"Just don't get in trouble, please.." she just pleaded, and I nod.

Mother and I lived apart for eight years while I was in training, changing my location each week. Since I came back, she has found a great place to live in, bought us a fantastic home, and got herself a job. Even though she knew that I provide her with much more than needed, she still wanted to do something for us.

I unlocked the car and sat into the driver's seat; after taking a deep breath, I finally turned the key, and the car's engine roared in power.
After about 15 minutes of heavy traffic, which was pissing me off, I got to the small cafe in downtown. They had the best espresso, so that was my goal number one today. To get a coffee.

"Good morning, what can I get for you, handsome?" way too sweet feminine voice dragged me out of the trance. I didn't bother to look at the server, even though she was trying her best to show off curves — especially breasts.

"Triple espresso on the go," I said coldly and placed 20$ bill on the counter.
"Keep the change," I added and stood there, waiting for my coffee.

Most cafe visitors were eyeing me, especially females, but that's not something new. I'm tall, so usually, I gain a lot of unwanted attention towards myself.

"Would you like my number with that?" the girl spoke once again, reaching over the counter to give me my order, to what I just rolled my eyes, took a paper cup from her hand, and left the building.
Sometimes I curse myself for not being able to disappear. Well, maybe one day.

In just five minutes, I got to the school's parking lot. It's packed with loads of cars and bikes, but thankfully my mother has, once again, reserved parking space for me — mental note to myself, to thank her for that later, when I get back home.

All eyes, of course, instantly flew at me. "The new guy" drama and everything, I suppose.

I got out of my car, took my backpack from the back seat, and leaned against the doors. I didn't bother to look at anyone. Call me cocky, but nobody here deserves my attention, that's for sure.

After taking a sip of coffee and looking at my mobile phone screen, I noticed that I have at least 20 more minutes before the class starts. So I placed the paper cup on the roof of the car and got cigarettes out of my pocket. Mother never really liked this habit of mine, but it did calm me down.

I hadn't smoked even half of my cigarette when pink Lamborghini parked a few spots away from me.
I could hear them whispering to each other, that's right- them. Three girls got out of the car and marched my way. I dropped the cigarette, stomped my foot on it, and took my coffee before leaving place next to my car.

I have pissed them off because they ran after me, shouting "new guy stop." I just laughed to myself and kept going towards the main entrance. Students kept eyeing me and whispering things to each other.

I decided to ignore all of them. After all, I did promise my mother to stay out of trouble.
I reached the principal's office without problems to find it, thankfully.

After getting my schedule and leaving the office, I noticed the same girls standing next to their lockers, throwing daggers from their looks at me. I smirked and winked at the blonde one, standing in the middle of them. She blushed and looked at her feet.
Such a shocker. Not.

I was about to make my way to the math class, but a group of males stopped me. One of them a bit shorter than I am, yet a lot taller than rest. He was a buff, blonde guy with blue eyes. Since he was radiating the aura of power, I instantly understood that he's a high ranking wolf. They all had curious looks on their faces, while I stood utterly still, slightly bored.

"I heard they say you're the man," blonde one spoke.

On any other occasion, I'd offer him to check it out himself, to make sure am I or am I not. Yet, the damn promise. I would never disappoint my mother like this. So instead, I just shrugged my shoulders and looked down at him with bored facial expression.

"Facts bro," I said utterly emotionless.

"I like your attitude. Welcome to the pack, the name is Brent, next in line Beta," he reached his hand for me to shake.

Even though I didn't want to, I took his hand in mine and shook it.

"Lukas," I answered.

"Since you're new here, feel free to join us at lunch. See you around, Luke," he said and marched away.

"See you, bro," his minions spoke and left one by one, none of them bothering to introduce themselves. I guess this pack could be somewhat weird.

Just as I started walking towards the class, I accidentally heard blonde girl whispering to her friends.

"Hah, I told you I'm the hottest girl in school, even the mysterious new guy wants me," it's disgusting for how full of herself she is.

I stopped in my tracks and leaned closer to her. She blushed once again. It's funny how so many girls look adorable while blushing, and this one just looked so cheap.

"Don't be so full of yourself; you're not even that pretty. And I'm not interested in you, to make it clear. Darling, I wouldn't place my dick even near to your disgusting self, so suck this up and get down from that high cloud. You should see a doctor; someone has to say how delusional you are," I winked at her once again and walked away. Hallways were full of people, so most of them laughed, whistled, and some offered me to give high 5 to what I just kindly ignored everything.

"You're going to regret that, new guy," she suddenly yelled from behind of me.

"Oh, since we go by nicknames from now on, I shall call you a slut- suits your easy personality. And for your threat- bring it on, bitch," I smiled at her. She was boiling in anger, which honestly was the best sight ever.
"By the way, the coffee you made for me this morning sucks, tell your dad he should fire you," I added.

"You're THE Lukas, ain't you?" she asked in disbelief.

"No, I'm the new guy," I kept annoying her. Pretty sure she will get tired of me soon enough.
Judging by the way her face looks now.
3 - 2 - 1...

And there she goes, finally left me the Hell alone. I sighed and entered the classroom, taking the empty place next to the window and looked out of it.
Today is a way too beautiful day to be stuck in school.

"Ah, I see we have a new student," a gentle voice spoke. I didn't bother to look at the teacher since I've seen everyone here already. Each time, when I changed my location, I always took my time to observe my surroundings and people living around.

"Would you like to introduce yourself," she asked happily.

"My name is Lukas; I'm new," I stated and looked at her.

"It's nice to meet you, Lukas, you can call me Mrs. Valentino or just Luna, I'm replacing your math teacher for few weeks until she'll be back from a well-deserved vacation," she clapped her hands and smiled again.

"My pleasure Luna," I spoke, showing all respect I could. I've never seen a Luna, who was working for someone else. I mean, it's their nature to worry and take care of everyone, but not this far. This pack is something else.

"No, it's my pleasure, Lukas. Anyway, let's start, we shall talk more during pack barbecue at the weekend," I swear this is the most positive woman I've met. Even my mother isn't his cheerful and happy.

To my surprise, math class, somehow just became my favorite. Luna Valentino was terrific; she explained everything with such ease that I managed to remember things I forgot centuries ago. Maybe I'll enjoy this school thing, after all.

Well, that's what I thought until the lunch break came until I noticed how truly wile and animal alike wolves could be. Earth, open up, and drag me to Hell.
