Chapter 12

Sophia walked without purpose, unfamiliar with the Capitol and unsure of where she had gone.
Her heart felt like it was being torn apart.
Why had she become this way?
It was clearly not her who had changed!
Her shoes had fallen off at some point, she stepped on the rocks, and the soles of her feet were cut without knowing the pain, even on her calves and ankles, there were bloodstains from the sharp grass leaves.
Sophia's head was drenched in rain, and for a moment she didn't even know what she was sad about.
She suddenly stopped, looked at the half-moon in the sky, and folded her hands in prayer.
Her hair was clinging to her face, and her face was pale like a ghost, abnormally abrupt in the night. The long red dress, bare feet, scarred legs, but also has an unusually poignant beauty.
Aaron found her when he saw such a poignant scene, his heart thumped up, was nervous.
He was suddenly a little scared, feeling as if the person in front of him would disappear at any moment, so that he could not catch.
It was at this time that Sophia collapsed without warning, and before she completely passed out, she heard someone call her name.
"Sophia!"
The shout was tinged with panic, and the voice was familiar to her... who was it?
She thought blankly and fell into complete darkness.
Aaron's heart almost stopped when he saw her fall.
He had come out to find her with anger when he heard her go to Carl, but after hearing Carl say that he had separated from Sophia early on, he had no reason to panic.
Where could she be?
He searched for her himself, road by road, in the pouring rain, and finally found her, despite the heavy rain that drenched him.
Aaron ran over and caught her body as it suddenly fell. Sophia's eyes were tightly closed and her bare skin was burning hot, Aaron didn't dare hesitate to take off his thick fur coat and wrap her up and carry her to the carriage.
In the bedchamber, Aaron took Sophia into the bath and cleaned her, then tucked her under the warm blanket and urged the doctor to check her condition.
The doctor examined her with a stony face, gave Sophia a fever-reducing injection, explained some precautions to the servants, and sent someone off to get trauma medicine.
Aaron's eyes have been on Sophia, watching her uncomfortable tight frown, kept murmuring something, Aaron came over and listened carefully, only to hear her say it is not so, she is not lying, do not disbelieve her these three sentences.
He could only hold her hand tightly and whisper in her ear, "I believe you."
"Your Majesty." Beta Nick came in with a bowl of ginger soup and said worriedly, "Your Majesty, have a bowl of ginger soup to warm yourself first, you must not get sick, the Queen still needs you to take care of her."
Aaron was going to let him carry it away, but his last words struck him.
He still had Sophia to take care of.
He took the bowl and poured a whole bowl down, his body was much warmer, he took the trauma medicine brought by the servant, and sent the others out, leaving only the big maid in the house.
Aaron lifted the corner of the quilt, exposing her below the knee, and was heartbroken and angry to see the extra scratches on her white legs.
He carefully cleaned her wounds and applied trauma medicine to them. Sophia seemed to feel the pain and struggled slightly, then settled down again because of the heaviness of her body.
Aaron eased his movements, his face expressionless: "What is going on."
The big maid softly explained to Aaron all the events of the day, including the meeting with Susan, she said those words.
Aaron didn't even need to ask to know what happened in the back, it must be that this little woman felt that Carl was also deceived, so she wanted to tell him the true nature of Susan, but it turned out that Carl didn't believe her and broke her heart severely.
I have to say, Aaron really knows Sophia well enough to guess the original story.
"If she comes back, tell me immediately." Aaron sneered, and after gently putting Sophia's medicine on, he sent the big maid out and lay down with her in his arms.
In the middle of the night, thunderstorm, Sophia's body launched a shiver without warning, immediately woke Aaron up.
"Cold, so cold ......" Sophia curled herself up, closed her eyes tightly, and couldn't stop shouting about the cold.
Aaron hurriedly took her back into his arms and felt her waist, and found that the temperature did not go down at all.
"Bring two more quilts!" Aaron's face was even more gloomy than the thunderstorm outside, regardless of whether he would be hot or not, he piled several quilts on top of him, wrapping Sophia firmly.
He strangled her so tightly that it didn't take long for her to start moving around uncomfortably, and to keep stirring the covers and stretching her arms outward.
"Hot ......" Her little face was an uncharacteristic flush, and a thin layer of sweat had broken out on her body, and Aaron breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's hot." She squeezed into his arms, unconsciously pouting, "So heavy, take it away ......"
Aaron's expression became soft, patting her back and coaxing softly, "Good girl, just cover it for a while longer."
Sophia whispered a few times, did not struggle again, and fell asleep again.
The heat on her body had almost subsided in the early morning. Aaron watched her for a while longer and finally couldn't hold on to sleep.
......
The body was uncomfortably sticky, and Sophia struggled to lift her heavy eyelids for a moment, not responding to where she was now.
As her head cleared, memories of yesterday poured into her head, Carl's hurtful words lingered in her mind, and her expression quickly became lost.
Trying to curl up a bit to hide herself, she was pulled back by the hand strangling her waist, and her back was pressed against a warm chest.
"Awake?" Aaron said vaguely, his eyes sleepily closed.
Sophia's mind short-circuited a bit, and it took a moment for it to occur to her that she had passed out and been found and brought back by Aaron.
In a daze, she suddenly remembered that in the chaos of last night, she had been nestled in a warm embrace, crying, and that it was that person who had kept soothing her until she fell asleep.
Was it Aaron?
Before she had time to ask, she was turned over by someone holding her waist, with a little cool forehead on her forehead, she looked at the enlarged face in front of her, her breath stopped for a moment.
"It's not hot anymore."
The man's breath spat on her face, his movements careful and without a hint of lust.
Sophia blushed again, as she often seemed to do at his thoughtless gestures.
Aaron opened his eyes and as they cleared, he rolled out of bed and asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"
Sophia looked at him in silence and waited until he was dressed before asking weakly, "Aren't you going to ask me what I was doing yesterday?"
Aaron tucked her back under the covers and pretended not to care.
"You don't have to say anything if you don't want to, you don't have to force it."
Sophia's eyes covered with a layer of mist, she buried her face under the blanket and said sullenly, "You know everything, right? Do you think I'm particularly stupid?"
Aaron sighed helplessly and cupped her face, looking at her seriously, with only her shadow in his tiny pupils, as if she was the only person in his world.
"Don't be sad for someone who doesn't deserve it, you have me."
Sophia's tears broke the bank, there was no place to vent out all the aggression in this moment, she took the initiative to hug his neck, for the first time, regardless of the image of the cry, like an aggrieved child, shrinking in the arms of the family to seek comfort.
Without more words, an illusory bridge was built over their hearts. More love than could fit seeped into Sophia's heart, filling it to overflowing, squeezing out the betrayal of her sister, the distrust of her ex-fiancé, and making her less sad.
Aaron stayed by her side, with her as she vented all her grievances, and watched her straighten up, wipe her tears, and say sheepishly, "Thank you."
Aaron brought the thermometer and stuffed it into her mouth, and went to order the servants to bring over some light food.
"You had a high fever last night, take care of it for the next two days, I've ordered them to come over again later when the doctor comes." Aaron removed the extra covers and turned around to see her with the thermometer in her mouth, cheeks puffed out, staring adorably at him with wide eyes, looking like she was going to say no.
"What's wrong?" Aaron lost his smile, pulled the thermometer out and glanced at it, tossing it aside.
"Can I take a shower." Sophia asked embarrassed, her body was sticky and really uncomfortable.
"No." Aaron refused without thinking, then looked at Sophia, quickly defeated in her disappointed eyes, "I'll have someone bring a basin of hot water to rub you down."
Sophia wrapped her robe and stepped on the floor with her white feet, and just tried to stand up, but she went soft because of the pain.
"You lie down honestly, I'll help you." Aaron forcefully pressed her back into bed, untied her robe, took a hot towel, and carefully wiped her body.
His hands touched Sophia's skin and Sophia subconsciously stiffened.
"I'm not so animalistic as to lay hands on a patient." Aaron knew what she was thinking without even raising his head.
Sophia was embarrassed and refused to admit it: "I didn't think of that, it's just that your hands are a little cold."
Aaron's movement paused for a moment, Sophia did not expect him to take his perfunctory excuse seriously, and really put his hand into the scalding water to soak, forgetting to stop.
Only when Aaron's warm hands fell back on her body did she react and moaned in comfort, her sweet voice unsurprisingly shouting Aaron hard.
Sophia caught a glimpse of the bulge and buried her head under the covers in shame, ostriching and foolishly leaving her smooth back and round ass to him.
Aaron glared at his own indisputable lower body, trying hard to hold back his desire to save himself from really doing something beastly, and saw Sophia's movements and didn't hold back his laughter.
He squeezed a handful of slippery buttocks and watched as she quickly popped up to protect her buttocks and looked at him warily, explaining awkwardly, "It's not my fault, the scent of your body is stronger after you got sick, and I've been holding it back all night."
Sophia blushed and accepted what he said, her eyes couldn't help but peek at the bulge, she still remembered the smell of that, it made her very comfortable ......
