Chapter 47

"The stars are so bright today."
Sophia rested on Aaron's arm, lying on the soft grass, into the sky of stars and the moon which was softer than usual.
Aaron glanced at her sideways, a soft light flashed in his eyes as he looked up at the starry sky and rested his hand on his forehead.
"When I was 18, you were lying in the grass with me like this, counting the stars in the sky."
Sophia's hand, which was pointing in the air, stopped and was a little lost in thought for a moment.
At that time, they climbed a long mountain, went to the top of the highest peak, her head was pillowed under the soft fur of the giant wolf, as if there was a drop of tears wetting the fur of the giant wolf.
What was the reason for that time?
Sophia thought about it carefully.
It happened to be her birthday, and the whole family and Carl celebrated her birthday together. She liked the night sky when it was clear, and she liked the stars and the moon, so she wanted Carl to accompany her to see the moon.
But Carl had a big fight with her on her birthday because of Susan.
In the end, she could only take the giant wolf she saved, and step by step, she worked hard to reach the highest peak, and on the top of the mountain, she cried loudly like venting into the wind.
She was really too tired, but she couldn't let go.
So she childishly broke the giant wolf's paw and forced him to count the stars one by one with herself, counting the messy ones and counting them again until she ran out of energy and fell asleep.
It was the giant wolf who carried her down.
"I will never let you be sad." Aaron's voice was low and magnetic, with a magical power that soothed Sophia's restless heart.
"Every day from now on, it will only be me who will look at the stars with you, I won't let you be sad for another person, I won't let you shed tears, I want you to live every day in happiness and never have worries."
"I wanted to hold you in my arms and comfort you then." Aaron wrapped his arms around her waist and crushed her in his arms, "But it took too much time to quell the rebellion, and after that I had to stabilize the wolves at the palace, I came too late, I should have come to pick you up earlier."
Sophia buried her head into his chest, and the slight wind rolled in, as if she was one with the night breeze of that time, as if she was still eighteen years old.
"Not late, not late at all." Sophia's voice carried a slight tremor, her eyes closed gently and she hugged him tightly.
"I'm thankful that you were there for me in all my times of sadness and despair."
Sophia was wrapped in a warm embrace, not long before she got sleepy, and when she was almost asleep, she suddenly asked Aaron.
"What will you do with Susan?"
"What to do with?" Aaron sneered and looked down at the fast-sleeping Sophia, "If she survives."
......
On the other side, because of the disappearance of the king and queen, the White Moon wolf pack was in a panic, the White Moon Alpha's head was about to explode, they searched all the nearby forest, but except for the fight traces and some witch's corpse, they didn't find the king and queen.
Selina sat at the other end of the long table, stepping on a man with a bloody face under her feet, the man was still coughing incessantly, and at first glance, he was out of breath more than in, that was one of the rebels they had caught.
Selina's breath is violent, the action is rough and hard to step on, the tile floor is broken by her foot, the man's head was directly into the floor, almost gagged.
White Moon Alpha waved his hand and had the unconscious man dragged out.
Selina gulped down the wine in her glass in one gulp and said with a grim face, "We found signs of battle on a cliff near Meta Moon and determined that Aaron had been there, I've sent someone to search the bottom of the cliff, no sign of them."
"What about the army?" Shirayuki Alpha asked.
"It will be drawn over soon, we must find them before those traitors."
"Aaron, make sure you hang in there. ......"
On the other side, the bottom of the cliff.
Because of Susan's betrayal, Aaron was not sure if there were any other traitors in the Meta Moon pack, so he was not ready to go to the Meta Moon pack for help.
"Are you okay with that?" Sophia asked worriedly.
Aaron's leg had fallen when he fell, and it was bound to recover badly in just one night. Sophia's intention was to stay here for another half day to give Aaron a little more time to repair himself, but Aaron insisted on going.
"I'm fine." Aaron shook his head, "One more day we stay out here is one more day of danger, we must rejoin my people quickly."
"Susan must have been used to get my trail, the Meta Moon wolves might not be too safe, let's reroute back to the royal capital, someone will meet us."
Sophia looked worried, Aaron couldn't help but rub her head, "We are safe for now, you don't need to be stressed, just think of it as coming out to play, I can handle any danger and won't let you get hurt again."
Sophia laughed and scolded him after hearing this, "I'm not in a playful mood when you're so badly injured." Despite saying that, Sophia's mood relaxed a bit.
After the sun came out, Aaron identified the direction, the two of them walked in the direction of the king's capital, avoiding the wide roads and picking some isolated paths.
After two days in the jungle, the two of them arrived near Singhalli, a city located at the border between the wolves and the wizards, which is an important military fortress despite its remote location.
Aaron said to Sophia, "Let's go to Singhalese, where I can contact the army."
Sophia nodded slightly, she didn't know much about Singhalese.
Only remembered that the general stationed in Singhalese was promoted up at the end of the war.
"Back then, when the witch tribe sneaked in to attack Singhalese as a barrier, the general in front of the line was killed by the enemy, and it was that general who took the initiative to take responsibility and defended Singhalese with the only army left, and in the war afterwards, the enemy who attacked Singhalese was defeated, and was promoted to general because he had made many battle achievements." Aaron explained.
"The people of Singhuri loved him so much that they called him General Singhuri. When I received him later, I found out that he used to be a guard in the palace, and I wanted to bring him to my side for reuse, but unfortunately he refused and volunteered to guard Singhuri because Singhuri is his hometown."
"That's really a good general." Sophia laughed.
They spoke in a whisper, when suddenly Aaron's spirit tightened and he looked around warily.
"Get out of the way!" Aaron shouted, holding Sophia's neck and ducking low to avoid the incoming wolf claws, kicking the killer in the stomach, sending him backwards two steps, pulling Sophia all the way to run wildly, dodging wave after wave of pouncing killers.
Sophia was cut on her arm while dodging, blood dripping down her sleeve, she covered her arm and was shielded by Aaron.
"Come on." Sophia whispered, "We can't expend our strength here!"
