Chapter 48

Aaron looked angrily at the pursuing killers behind him, his palms switching rapidly between wolf paws and hands, he clenched his fists hard and gave a venting roar, transforming into a giant wolf, carrying Sophia on his back and running furiously in the direction of Sin Gu Li, as they got closer and closer to Sin Gu Li, the original ambush of the pursuit became less and less.
"That's Singhalese." After making sure he had shaken off the killers, Aaron transformed into a human and pointed to the outline of a city below, gently lifting Sophia's arm and wrapping up the wound on her arm with his tie.
Sophia looked down at Singhalese: "Is General Singhalese so famous? Those killers don't seem to be too bold to cross the border to this side."
Aaron's brow furrowed, apparently in the same disbelief, "Anyway, be careful."
Taking advantage of the night, Aaron led Sophia to touch the edge of the city and was stopped by the soldiers stationed there.
"Stand still!" The soldier shouted, his breath surging, as if he would attack at any moment.
"Who are you people, and why are you entering the city at this late hour." The soldier gave them a wary look.
Their current appearance was indeed suspicious, carrying countless wounds and tattered clothes.
"I want to see the general stationed in Sin Valley." Aaron lit up the seal in his hand with a solemn look.
The soldier's face was excited and nervous when he saw the badge, and the weapons originally aimed at Aaron were instantly redirected.
The badge was a symbol of the king, and every werewolf of the wolf tribe knew that their king was a very handsome young man with dazzling blond hair and handsome face, and these matched perfectly with the youth in front of them.
God, it was something to brag about that a small person like them could one day meet the king.
It didn't take five minutes for the soldier to lead a burly middle-aged man over. The man was 6.5 feet tall, with a scar that ran most of the way across his face, and he looked very fierce.
The moment the man saw Aaron, he simply dropped to one knee and said in a deep voice, "Your Majesty."
The faces of the soldiers gathered around flashed with excitement that it was really the king, they hurriedly followed and knelt down, several wolves who were addicted to the night life and passed by nearby were also shocked.
People like them, who lived in remote places and never expected to see a king one day, looked over, and after seeing Aaron's majestic yet cold face, were shocked and lowered their heads subconsciously.
"General Singhuli, please get up."
A soft female voice came from the side, and all eyes were drawn to the woman who had been standing silently behind the king.
Sophia stood out from behind him, her fair and beautiful face turned gray from days of chasing and rushing, but how could not hide the brightness of those eyes, a slight smile could make people look frozen.
Everyone who saw her wondered, "Who is this beautiful woman? Why is she with the king?
Aaron noticed all the men's eyes that almost grew on Sophia, and unhappily pulled her over and pressed her head into his arms, isolating her from the others' eyes.
Sophia lost her smile.
"General Singuri, find a place where you can talk." Aaron spoke faintly, his intimidating gaze sweeping over the surrounding soldiers, who shivered instantly.
General Singuri sent the others away and led Aaron towards the city, "Your Majesty, the soldiers mean no harm, they have just never seen someone as beautiful as the Queen, please don't blame them." Apparently, the others did not see Sophia's identity, but General Singuri did.
"No." Aaron responded briefly.
A hint of caution crossed Sophia's eyes, General Singuri didn't seem very surprised to see them just now, and it was reasonable to say that no matter how wretched she and Aaron were now, or the presence of the King and Queen themselves here, it was something to be surprised by.
And although the expression on General Singuri's face when he knelt down on one knee just now to show his submissive respect looked sincere, Sophia caught a hint of falsehood ......
"Your Majesty, what has happened to you and why are you alone in Singuri?" Walking on the road, General Singhalese asked.
The words Aaron brought to his lips turned around and swallowed back as his shirt was tugged secretly by Sophia.
Sophia smiled at General Singhalese, looking a little embarrassed, and shyly gathered her hair around her ears.
"It was my caprice to ask the king to go for a walk in the jungle with me, and I accidentally wandered far away, not expecting to meet fierce bandits, there were too many of them, we took a wrong path for a while, and somehow we ended up here."
"How can the king go out without people, it's too dangerous." General Singhuli couldn't help but say.
"It's my fault. I didn't want to have someone else when I was alone with the king." With that said, Sophia pulled out a strip of red cloth that seemed to be the one she had pulled from the tree earlier with the rebel symbol on it.
She held the strip of cloth in front of General Singhalese's eyes, "I always thought that didn't look like a normal bandit, I pulled this off of them in a hurry, and it was still weirdly scary."
"The iconic pattern of the rebels is a bit scary." General Singuiri said subconsciously.
His hand just reached out to take the cloth, but Sophia quickly withdrew her hand and instead handed him a nameplate symbolizing his identity.
"Please help General Singuri contact the king's cronies for us."
General Singuri then took the nameplate, took them to rest, and had new clothes sent over.
Aaron didn't say anything from the beginning to the end, only nodding to General Singuri as he left.
When everyone had exited, Aaron leaned against the door and looked at Sophia.
"What are you testing him for? I thought we were supposed to keep it a secret? Why did you show him the thing with the rebel symbol on it?"
"I didn't show it to him." Sophia changed out of the dirty, rotten clothes she was wearing, no hint of a smile on her face.
"Then what was that you showed him?"
Sophia pulled him over and unbuttoned his shirt.
"The tie you just gave me to bandage my wound." Sophia draped the new shirt over him and urged him to lift his hands.
"And there's nothing on it?" Aaron's face fell, then he followed her motion and lifted the sleeve on his glove, apparently understanding what the problem was as well.
"Yeah, he said there was a rebel symbol on it to a clean tie, and I didn't reveal a word that we were being hunted here."
Sophia helped him straighten his clothes, wrapped a bandage around her hand twice, and stood in front of the mirror looking at her harmlessly beautiful face, raising the corners of her mouth.
She turned around and wrapped her arms around Aaron's neck, sat on his lap with her legs apart, rested her chin on his shoulder, and said sullenly, "We're still on someone else's turf, is this too reckless of me."
"No." Aaron gently pressed her hair and patted her back soothingly, "You're doing the right thing, we'll have no chance at all if we confront them when they're ready."
"Looks like it's time for us to go again." Sophia murmured.
