Chapter 39
''Calm down!'' The wolf bellowed lowly in her mind, 'There's someone hiding in the bushes in front of you, don't rush, you can't save him with brute force, you take care of these people hiding first and take a little pressure off him.'
Sophia nodded and quietly touched over to give the person hiding in front of her a thrashing, putting down a look before realizing it was a witch tribe.
"It's someone from the Witch Clan, they really have been watching us, the people inside should be from the rebels, could it be that the Witch Clan is allied with the rebels?"
Sophia didn't think about it.
Sophia's aura around her was violent, she followed the wolf's guidance, solved the witch clan in front of her left, and collided with Karida when she was touching the next point.
The two almost moved, but it was a good thing they saw each other's faces at the critical moment.
"You're finally here." Karida whispered with relief.
She leaned against the tree, her tense hands shaking.
She pressed Sophia and let her look inside through the bushes, "Leave the people outside to me, you go in and help him, later I'll hold a witch hostage and have her put a large wind spell, you guys take this opportunity to escape."
Sophia nodded, and turned back to her, "And you?"
Karida said helplessly, "At a time like this, you should leave me alone, their target is not me, I will take advantage of the chaos to leave, you don't have to worry about me."
"Contact again." Sophia hurriedly threw down a sentence and jumped out.
Aaron froze at the moment Sophia appeared.
The giant silver wolf appeared in Aaron's line of sight, biting the neck of a wolf that was attacking towards him and snapping its vertebrae dryly.
"What a daze!" Sophia shouted angrily, eager to open his head and see what was inside.
Aaron reacted and immediately held her back, hissing ferociously at his enemy and protecting her carefully.
"I don't need you to protect me." Sophia said in an unpleasant voice, slapping away a wolf's head that came up to her.
The silvery white fur was stained with blood, making Aaron feel inexplicably harsh.
He hoped she would always be clean and holy, and shouldn't be stained with this dirty blood.
This made him so angry that his eyes were red and dripping blood.
The two of them fought hard for a while, but it was good to have Sophia join them, so Aaron didn't get hurt anymore.
Just as they had agreed, a gust of wind howled and blew, and the short shrubs were pulled up, disrupting even the rebels.
Sophia reacted quickly, turning back into a human just as the wind picked up, jumping on Aaron's back and patting his thick fur.
"Come on!" She shouted in a low voice.
Aaron understood what she meant and bumped through the two giant wolves that had been disrupted and piled in towards the dense forest, quickly shaking them off.
Karida saw them safely away, snapped the neck of this Wiccan in her hand, and quietly left.
"You ...... "Aaron ran through the forest, opened his mouth but did not know what to say.
Sophia sighed: "You're not a kid anymore, why are you still so messed up."
Aaron's voice was a little lower: "I thought you were gone."
Sophia jerked the hair on his neck and said helplessly, "Did you think I didn't want you to leave you?"
Aaron didn't respond, but Sophia understood.
She didn't expect Aaron to be so insecure, worrying at times that he would leave.
Although she was angry, her heart softened a lot.
She leaned over him and whispered, "I didn't think of leaving you, I was just in a bit of a bad mood and went out for a walk, you silly man, you didn't even know you were being cheated."
"I'm a fool."
The sigh was dispersed by the wind as they ran wildly into the wind, Sophia lying on his thick fur, not minding the dirt, wrapped in warmth.
'There's someone five hundred meters ahead.' Sophia's wolf said in her head.
"Aaron," Sophia patted him, and Aaron tacitly changed direction.
Sophia lay on top of him, vigilantly observing the surroundings, and whispered, "Ambushes have been laid all along the way back, we can't go back, do you have any ideas?"
Aaron will be his huge body ambling low, his mind quickly thinking of ways to respond.
"The east is where we're going next, the west is the direction of the royal capital, and the safest thing right now would be the north."
"Meta Moon is just to the north, Selina if she was smart enough, she should have thought to gather an army to rescue us when she saw the ambush, we have to survive these two days."
"Why don't we retreat in the direction of Meta Moon first?" Sophia asked for his opinion, "Meta Moon is a small group, but it has some men, it can hold out for a while."
Aaron whispered, "I have no problem, it's just that I have to cause so much trouble for your parents when I meet them for the first time."
"Is now the time to think about this?" Sophia said helplessly.
"Then let's do it."
The two of them quietly retreated backwards, and Aaron's tail swept into the trees, making a little noise and alerting the ambushing enemy.
"Damn!"
Aaron cursed, and did not hide, dodging a fierce hail of wind, frantically running towards the north, Sophia held him in a death grip, not making a sound to distract him.
Dodging this wave of pursuers, they finally had time to rest.
Aaron put her down and turned back into his person.
Sophia's legs were still a little weak when she came down, her body wobbled a little, covering the back of her shoulders, and her expression was a little tense.
Aaron nervously leaned over and just wanted to touch her, saw the blood on his hands, and subconsciously drew his hands back.
Sophia looked at him and pulled his hand out of the back, Aaron didn't dare to use brute force with her, he could only obediently let her hold it and watch her wipe his fingers clean one by one with a clean handkerchief.
"No need to hide, I don't mind getting dirty." Sophia lowered her head and said seriously.
Aaron blushed a little for the first time, and after allowing her to wipe his hand clean, he forcefully turned her around and saw a blood-soaked piece of clothing on her shoulder.
"You're hurt?" Aaron's voice tightened.
"It was accidentally scuffed, it's all minor." Sophia didn't care and pressed the handkerchief that had wiped his hand over the wound to simply stop the bleeding.
Aaron took her hand away and pulled her collar down, revealing a round shoulder.
Sophia teased him, "You're undressing me in a place like this, aren't you afraid someone will see you."
"I'll kill anyone who dares to look." Aaron grimaced and rummaged around his body without finding any clean fabric, so he could only pull a clean piece of the shirt he was wearing underneath off.
"It's okay, it's just a broken skin." Sophia looked at him anxious, patting his hand on the shoulder, "Wait until it's safe to clean up."
Aaron silently tied the cloth to her shoulder and put the clothes back on her. Sophia turned to take off his clothes and was tugged by him warily.
"Now is not the time for that kind of thing." He said in all seriousness.
Sophia wanted to laugh, but didn't think it was appropriate, rolled her eyes less than gracefully, and pulled his collar away.
"You think I'm you, I just want to see your injury."
Aaron covered his shirt tighter.
"I'm fine, besides you can't deal with it if you look now, so it's better not to look."
Aaron pinned her down to keep her from moving around.
"Let me lean for a while, I'm a little tired."
Sophia relaxed and wrapped her arms around him, not daring to use any force.
Aaron closed his eyes in contact Nick, between Alpha and Beta, there is a unique contact between them, they can talk through the connection of the mind to know each other's situation.
"Nick, Nick!"
There was not a single fluctuation on the other side of the connection, Aaron did not get a single response, which made him a little confused.
"No?" Sophia suddenly voiced out.
Aaron shook his head, his face gloomy: "I've contacted him several times, but no response."
Sophia's face was not too good: "Even if he was in danger, as long as Nick was still conscious, he would not have failed to receive the Alpha's summons, he did not give you a response, could it be that he was ambushed by the rebels and was seriously injured and unconscious?"
Aaron's face tightened: "With Nick's ability, this shouldn't be the case, and besides, he has a lot of people with him."
Sophia laughed hard, as if telling a cold joke, "What else would it be because of, is it hard for him to deliberately not give you a response?"
As soon as she said this, Aaron's face became even more ugly.
"Don't worry, he must be tied up with something." Sophia reassured in a slow voice.
Footsteps came from the forest and both of their bodies tensed up as Aaron rolled off of Sophia and pulled her aside to slip quietly away.
They had to conserve their strength, they couldn't have another head-on confrontation with them.
They wandered through the woods and almost lost their way, but accidentally came to a small pool of water.
Sophia found two large leaves, made to look like bowls, and filled them with two cups of water and handed them to him. They had been thirsty most of the day, and now it was almost dark, so they had to spend the night here.
"We can not make a fire now, will expose the location, I see a few wild fruit trees around, I will go pick a little later, let's make do with some food."
Aaron does not care, but I think the aggravation of Sophia, so she came to suffer with himself, not enough to eat, not warm, but also can only sleep on the hard ground.
The night is so cold, she is not well, and I do not know if it will be more serious.
"You don't have to worry about me." Sophia saw his guilt and sat down on the ground, not minding the dirt, "I'm not a delicate lady, I've been in the woods, I can't even overcome this difficulty."
"I am now more worried about Karida."
"You worry about her why." Aaron said disgruntled, he now hears Karida's name is not happy.
Sophia knocked him on the head with a leaf: "If she hadn't helped out in the back and killed those cold arrow wizards, you would have been consumed to death, which could have waited until I came to save you."
"I didn't say I needed her help." Aaron raised his chin high and cold.
"Yes, yes, yes, it is Karida soft-hearted must help you okay."
Aaron's occasional childish tantrums always poke her right in the heart.
Sophia went aside to pick some wild fruits, washed and placed in his hands, like taking care of a small child who can not take care of himself, Aaron has been sitting obediently in place, eyes have been following her turn, but really a little bit of a child waiting for a parent's appearance.
"Eat." She wiped the fruit clean, stuffed it into his mouth, took a bite herself, and her face scrunched up.
"It's sour!"
Aaron took a bite of the fruit in his mouth, the sweet juice flowing into his mouth, and he took the sour one from Sophia's hand and shoved the bite-sized sweet one into her hand.
"You eat this, this is sweet."
Sophia took a bite and smiled.
"Really hey, it's so sweet."
Aaron silently bit into the sour fruit, looking at her happy face because of a sweet fruit, feeling the sour fruit in his mouth turned sweet.
As long as you are around, any more bitterness is sweet.
