Chapter 25
What kind of deep affection is it that can twist a person to such an extent.
Karida remembered when she was still young, her mother did not like girls, often left her out in the cold, only her father loved her, carried her around and gave her anything she wanted.
Later, her mother died in childbirth, she was not sad, when her brother was angry and scolded her for not having a heart, only her father understood her.
Her father poured all his love into her, so when the king gave the task of infiltrating the witch clan to Duke Oliver, she came forward and was willing to take on this difficult task for her father, turning herself into a witch.
During her years in the witch clan, only Duke Oliver remembered her, risked sneaking to see her, and guiltily tried to bring her back.
She said she was honored to work for the royal family, but all of that was a lie to him; she did it all just for her father, but didn't want to make him feel guilty about it.
"But why," she sat limply in the ice flower, her eyes listless, "I tried so hard to get it all over with, to get back to him as soon as possible, and you all let this little thought of mine fall away."
"You say he did it for his father, that he loved him dearly, but what about me? Who's going to take the blame for everything I've suffered, you?" She pointed at Levi, and then angrily at Aaron, "Or you!"
"Father, what am I supposed to do?" Karida hid her face and cried.
Aaron exchanged glances with Sophia and took advantage of this moment of Karida's lost concentration to rush up.
Aaron let out a long whistle and transformed into a wolf, his thick legs powered up and took Sophia to jump on the ice flower, throwing her over.
Sophia seized the opportunity to lock Karida's neck, Karida eyes fierce, yanked her arm, with her shoulder against the ice flower smashed, Aaron jumped up, a clawed her stepped on the ice flower slapped, the two people suddenly hanging in the air.
Sophia took the opportunity to break away from her, was caught by Aaron, jumped to another ice flower, Karida also used a spell to prop herself up to another ice flower.
Karida flicked her hair to the back of her head, gathered back her out-of-control expression and smiled at them, "How about this, how about you guys give me the seal and I'll let him go?"
Aaron sneered and his huge wolf body made an attacking stance.
"Come and get it yourself if you want it!"
"Then I'll be polite." Karida good-naturedly laughed, the hand action is not at all merciful, an ice spike from the ice flower penetrated out.
They both reacted quickly and rushed towards Karida at the same time, Aaron let out a long whistle, the king's mighty pressure smashed hard on Karida, Karida was pressed leg weak, fell to her knees.
Wolf claws fanned over viciously, without stopping to smash on her, the huge impact shattered the ice flower under her, she fell to the ground in a mess, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Sophia took the opportunity to reach out to her, trying to grab her, Karida heart a ruthless, like a gamble, but directly to the neck to Sophia's sharp claws, Sophia's movement really paused for a moment.
Karida rolled out, chanting a spell aloud, only barely able to resist Aaron's powerful pressure, the ground rose up a flower of ice, held her to Levi's side, sharp nails on his throat.
"Don't come any closer!" She shouted.
"You still won't give up? You can't win against me at all." Aaron jumped to Sophia's side, a complex looks in his vertical pupils, "I can promise not to kill you if you give up your resistance."
"Not kill me, and then imprison me is it?" Karida snickered, "Do I look stupid?"
"You have no other choice left." Sophia advised, "Don't continue to be wrong, Duke Oliver must not want to see you like this either, Karida, the king is the only person in this world who will tolerate these big mistakes you have made, even if you have thought about harming the king, the king doesn't really want to hurt you."
Unfortunately, Karida now can not listen to their words, only thinking about revenge on everyone.
"I'll say it again, give me the seal and let me go, or I'll kill him." Fingernails pushed forward and a thin cut was added to Levi's neck.
Aaron stared at her hand, dryly pulling out something from his pocket and throwing it over, Karida was overjoyed, reaching out to catch the cold object, and before she could rejoice, the long, slender fingers with sharp nails pierced her stomach.
She heard Sophia's unique gentle voice: "Not a seal, cheating you."
Karida's face was very stiff and looked back, only to see the sadness on Sophia's face, and she froze for a moment.
Karida coughed up a mouthful of blood and laughed weakly, "You are really gentle, still sad for me at this time."
"But I don't need your pity ......" Karida gritted her teeth and ran forward two steps, breaking free from Sophia's grip, blood flowing on the ground.
She turned her head to look at Sophia, with a little prayer in her eyes, wordlessly moved her mouth to say something, Sophia's blocking action paused, incidentally blocking Aaron's path.
"This time count you win, very good at talking queen, we will see each other again."
Karida did not hesitate and crushed the life preserving talisman stone given to her by the elders of the main warring faction of witches, a black mist rose and she disappeared, leaving only a trail of blood behind.
Sophia knew it was wrong to let her go, but a vague thought in her heart told her that she should let her go.
Sophia stood in place with a complicated look on her face, her blood-stained hand still raised, and was pulled over by Aaron.
Aaron didn't question why she hesitated, but just pulled out a handkerchief, carefully wiped her hand clean, and touched her face: "You've done a good job."
Sophia's eyes dropped, looking at the limp blood at her feet, her heart sinking.
"I could feel it, her desperation and pain."
"She would have been a very nice girl too."
Karida was lost, and Aaron sent men to search the Capitol in secret, and could not find the slightest trace of her left behind.
Soon after Karida's escape, after treatment, Levi also gradually got better, only to often ask the servant how his sister is doing now.
No one could answer him, and he seemed to understand, can not say whether it is nervous, or relieved.
Aaron began to take strict precautions, ready for a sneak attack by the main warrior witches.
Sophia thought about the fact that there were still Peacekeeper witches in the palace, and she thought about the spell that Aaron had not gotten rid of in his body.
Sophia then had the witches invited over and told them about Karida, and the witches were shocked.
"Karida has fallen to the main warring faction, and she was the one who came to steal the seal before." Aaron said indifferently.
The witches looked at each other, they were all guilty and stood up to apologize to him, "Your Majesty of the Wolf Clan, we are very sorry, we also did not expect that such a problem would actually occur internally, please forgive us."
"It's not your fault." Sophia warmly eased the atmosphere and held the witch who wanted to worship downward, "We all know that the Peacekeepers are peace-loving and will not misunderstand you all just because of the provocations of the main war faction."
"Thank you." The witches looked at her gratefully, "We will go back as soon as possible, report this matter to our chief, and will definitely give you an explanation."
"The people I sent out did not search for the Karida witches in the capital city, she may have gone to the witch clan first, you must be careful when you go back." Aaron reminded.
"You do not worry." The witches nodded, "If there is nothing else, we would like to go back as soon as possible."
Sophia gracefully raised her hand, tucked the hair that had fallen in front of her behind her ear, and said shyly, "There's really something I'd like to trouble you guys with."
"If there is something you can use us, please feel free to say, we will definitely help if we can do it." The witch hurriedly said.
"That's right." Sophia sighed, "In order to achieve victory, the main war faction used underhanded means and tried to control the king with a spell, fortunately the king saw through her plot and did not let her succeed, but there was still a spell left in the king's body."
"We understand." The witches said in unison, "Just please leave this matter to us."
While the witches were removing the spell from Aaron, Sophia was standing by, looking worried.
Aaron sat cross-legged on the floor and held out a hand for the witches to write the spell on his arm.
The finger was pierced and the witch carefully took a drop of his blood and placed it in a lamp, which lit up with a red shimmer that flickered like a heart beating.
"Can the queen hold this lamp for me? This lamp is the carrier of the attraction spell, just keep your hand steady so that the lamp doesn't break." The witch held up the lamp and looked at her.
Sophia looked at Aaron, nodded, and nervously took the red glowing lamp, tensed her body, and held it hard.
Aaron closed his eyes tightly as the spells the witches had written on him reacted violently, penetrating his body one by one, Aaron grunted and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Sophia's heart was anxious, but nothing could be done but to steady her mind to protect the lamp.
The witch's chanting sounded, and a spell's heart surfaced on his bare skin, as if trying to break free from the skin to escape.
Aaron's body trembled even more, but he gritted his teeth and didn't show any sound.
The witch's chanting became high, and the spell tumbled under her skin even more, and Sophia heard a thunderous shout: "Queen, raise the lamp!"
Sophia subconsciously acted on her command and lifted the lamp high in the air, facing them.
The spell converged on Aaron's pierced fingers, and as if it had found a vent, it squeezed out one by one, connecting in a series, and rushed into the lamp held in Sophia's hand. The tremendous impact almost made Sophia let go of her hand, but she held on.
The spell rushed into the lamp and hovered around the drop of blood. The witch picked up the lamp and, by some means, extinguished the spell along with the blood beads in the lamp.
"Queen, the spell has been dispelled, please do not worry." The witch said with a smile, "Let the king rest a little and he will be fine."
"Thank you." Sophia thanked them and ran to Aaron's side with the hem of her skirt, letting him lean against her.
"Is everything okay?" She asked worriedly.
Aaron's eyelids fluttered and he slowly opened his eyes, his body in good shape but not wanting to get up off of her, he simply leaned his whole body over.
"I'm fine."
The witches looked at each other, saw smiles in each other's eyes, and quietly left the room, leaving space just for the two of them.
Aaron wrapped his arm around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder, saying wearily, "I'm a little tired, just let me lean in a little longer."
Sophia gently put her hand on his back. Since coming to the palace, she had experienced so many things she hadn't experienced before.
She knew that hearts were dark, but never thought she would encounter, she knew that war was cruel, but never thought she would one day go to kill her own people.
"What will you do with Karida when you catch her?" She asked suddenly.
The room seemed quieter, quiet even the sound of breathing was restrained, Aaron also did not think about what to do with this meritorious offspring.
Rationally speaking, she defected from the witch clan, stole the seal, and tried to control the king, each of these crimes resulted in deserving death.
Emotionally speaking, she was sent to the witch clan since childhood, over the years, also for them to pass a lot of news of the witch clan, and is the person he grew up to know, is the daughter of his respected uncle Oliver.
He is not a man without a heart, and he would not be able to bear it, which is why he chose to suppress the news.
"What do you think I should do with her?" Aaron subconsciously went to ask Sophia, trying to find that lighthouse in the vast darkness.
Sophia didn't answer, because his hesitation had given her the answer.
She smiled, gently wrapped her arms around him, and whispered, "Don't you already have the result in your mind?"
