Chapter 20
"Your Majesty, there is indeed something wrong with this wine." The servant took out a small bag of white powder and put it into a small bottle, the wine in the small bottle instantly turned purple when it touched the powder.
"This powder is specially made to check the wine for poisons." The servant said.
"Then the Duke ......" Sophia subconsciously looked at Aaron, a little worried.
Aaron's expression did not change, he screwed the bottle on and tucked it into his pocket.
"In the last two months, what's different about the Duke's house?"
"Since two months ago, the hospitable Duke has stopped entertaining guests, the Duke's temper has deteriorated a lot, and has replaced all the servants in the mansion almost, I was able to stay with great difficulty." The servant said in a low voice, his expression a little puzzled.
"The Duke has sent his eldest and youngest sons on an errand, and his second daughter rarely returns, so now the Duke is left alone."
The Duke grew up doting on his youngest son and hated to keep him at home for the rest of his life, so Aaron didn't believe him when he suddenly sent him out on an errand.
He pondered for a moment and stood up, "Tell the Duke that I need to talk to him alone, and by the way, go find Nick, tell him to stop checking the winery for now and come back with the men immediately."
Aaron turned his head to look at Sophia, explained two words in her ear, and followed the servant out.
Aaron waited for the Duke outside the banquet hall and was taken to the tea room where VIPs were received by the Duke.
"You never used to bring me to the tea room to talk about things. Is the room where we used to have tea together no longer there?" Aaron asked seemingly unintentionally.
The Duke poured him tea and said with an unchanged face, "Recently the Duke's house is being renovated, the room has not been tidied up yet, so I can only trouble the King to talk about things here."
"Uncle Oliver is joking," Aaron shook his head and took a sip of tea from his cup, "Why haven't I seen your two children, have they gone to play again?
"I drove them out on business, half a month ago, can not return for the time being." The Duke laughed, "When they come back, I will definitely let them go to the palace to pay you a visit."
"Don't you love your youngest son the most, how can you bear to put him out."
This was already a clear temptation.
"It's not good for him to be at home all the time." The Duke sighed despondently and answered without a single loophole, "I can't keep him for the rest of his life, if he doesn't learn to be independent now, what will he do when I die."
"Have you forgotten that I promised to help you take care of him for the rest of his life and not let him do anything he doesn't like?" Aaron came up with one set of lies after another.
The Duke did not react this time and nodded in response, "Yes, please take care of that little guy for me more in the future."
Aaron's face went cold, the Duke's heart thumped, in his head quickly filtered which of his words wrong, and heard the cold voice said.
"You're not a duke."
Time seemed to stop, the Duke sat motionless, and after a minute, the fake Duke smiled and sighed: "Still found out by you, how did you find out?"
"The boss is not a dude who only has fun, and the person who promised Uncle Oliver to take care of his youngest son for the rest of his life is not me, Uncle Oliver will not forget, so you are not him." Aaron said in a cold voice.
"Just because of that?" The fake duke snorted.
"Deceiving the royal family and plotting against the Duke, do you know what kind of crime that is?!" Aaron slapped the table heavily, shaking the table with a clatter.
"The royal family?" The fake duke said slowly, with a wry smile at the corner of his mouth, "There will be no more royalty after today ......"
Aaron's pupils shrank, "You what, uh ......"
A mouthful of blood spurted out, Aaron propped himself up on the table and stood up, sweeping all the cups off the table.
The fake duke looked at the bright red abnormal blood, his eyes were excited.
Aaron lifted his head with difficulty and asked, "Who the hell are you?"
"Don't you remember me?" The fake duke looked strange, and he slowly pulled out a silly smile, piled on a face that was all fat.
Aaron stared at his face, his mind flashed back to what he had said to Sophia and shook inwardly.
"You're that brother of Uncle Oliver's!"
Several servants came through the door, their hands changing into sharp wolf claws as they slowly walked towards him.
"Where's Uncle Oliver!" Aaron shouted sternly.
"The basement." The fake Duke told him painfully.
Aaron got the answer, and did not bother to pretend, rolled over and jumped through the window, and was dragged by Sophia, who was hiding downstairs, and disappeared into the hallway.
The fake duke looked at the smashed window, his eyes indifferent: "Why do you have to go see it? It's too late for that."
"That man is not the Duke; we've all been tricked." Aaron dragged Sophia towards the basement, speaking fast.
"What about the Duke?"
"In the basement!"
Fortunately, Aaron was familiar with the structure of the Duke's house, and soon found the basement that the fake Duke said he was in. After the basement door was pushed open, Aaron froze.
Sophia got out from behind him and covered her mouth in shock, swallowing back the gasp of surprise that was coming out of her mouth, and only then did she understand what those people were waiting for.
Sophia could not describe what appeared before her eyes.
The top of the wall directly opposite, there is a small window with bars, through the window cast in the moonlight, Sophia to see what is sprayed on the floor.
It was a piece of crimson blood, solidified in a spray on the floor, and directly opposite the doorway, there was a chair with an obese man sitting on it.
Aaron walked in stiffly, half crouched in front of the man and lifted the man's half-cut wolf paw.
The man was laid out on the chair with his head down, his body in tatters, his eyes plucked out, his wolf paws mangled, and his legs broken and twisted.
His body was swollen and pus-filled, and his body emitted a strong stench, so it was obvious that he had been dead for a long time.
But the people who killed him refused to bury him, leaving him to rot and mold in this dank basement.
Aaron stared at the corpse for a long time and hissed angrily, alerting the guests who came to the reception and sending Nick, who was in a hurry to get back, into a state of shock.
"How could he do this to him! How could he!" Aaron hissed angrily, his vertical pupils gradually turning scarlet from anger, his nails getting sharper and sharper, his body uncontrollably turning into a half-wolf, half-human form.
Sophia covered her mouth, her eyes were red, she didn't understand what kind of resentment could make someone torment a person so much and not let go even after death.
As if infected, she was also surprisingly angry.
The sound of dense footsteps came, and one by one the servants crowded into the wide basement, surrounding them like prey. The fake duke was the last to come down, and when he entered, he even begrudged the miserable corpse a look.
Aaron lunged at the sight of him, pulled a claw into the heart of the servant who had stopped him, pulled out his still freshly beating heart, and crushed it with one hand.
"He is your brother, he has endured so much to protect you, how dare you kill him?!"
The fake duke suddenly burst out laughing so hard he couldn't stand up.
"Protecting me? If I knew his protection was like this, I'd rather he didn't protect me!" He said viciously, "You don't know what has happened to me, so who are you to accuse me?"
"He's the one who made me what I am today, he owes me! So what if he pays with his life!"
"I don't just want his life, I want his power, his position, his family's money, and I want all his children to call their father's enemy their father's father, he doesn't know what I've been through all these years, I want them to know what I've been through."
The fake Duke laughed maniacally, and the face that looked exactly like the Duke's was an expression completely unfamiliar to Aaron.
"No matter what has happened to you, Duke Oliver has been good enough to you, you can't blame him even if you have suffered something more painful." Sophia couldn't help but shout.
"You're right, it can't just be on his head." The fake duke wiped away the tears that came out of his eyes from laughing and clapped his hands, "Not only Oliver, but also the incompetent royal family, you are the ones who put me in this situation, so let their last heir pay for it."
Like getting a signal, the servants surrounding the side pounced towards Aaron at the same time, their moves were all deadly, Sophia's hand turned into a wolf claw, blocking a few times, and after nullifying one, she was forced to huddle with Aaron back to back.
"Afraid!" Aaron shouted.
Sophia, also enraged, replied loudly, "Not afraid."
Aaron laughed twice and his eyes became sharp: "Then come with me and rush out to avenge the Duke!"
The basement space is no longer large, so many people crowded in, there is little room to play, Aaron although the opponent suppressed the opponent with the pressure, but the opponent is too many than them, the two of them passively withstand the attack, their bodies still added many wounds.
Aaron grabbed a man's neck and broke it crisply, before he could turn around he was pushed out by Sophia, a sharp claw almost grazing the tip of his nose.
Sophia sighed in relief, failing to dodge the sharp claws attacking her, and five long claw marks were scratched out on her arm.
The fake duke looked at them compassionately and slowly walked over to the duke's corpse and raised his hand to slap it, with a crunching sound, the fragile bones of the corpse broke and the duke's head hung limply to the side.
"In the end, you are still the most useless, and caused your most beloved little prince to follow."
Aaron's eyes were bleeding as he glared, and he roared in anger, but was always blocked.
Just at this critical moment, Nick arrived with his men, a group of people crowded into the basement and cleared all the way from the doorway, a body lying in a pile all over the floor.
Aaron killed his attackers and pounced on the fake Duke, who was no match for him, and was pinned to the ground in a few moments.
At this time, he finally knew that he was afraid.
"You can't kill me, I'm Oliver's most beloved brother, you can't kill me!" The fake duke shouted shrilly.
"And you know you're his brother." Aaron said through clenched teeth, his eyes were also red, he had been forcing himself to hold back.
"When you tortured him, when you killed him, why didn't you think about the fact that you were his brother." Aaron angrily yanked his hair and slammed his head into the ground.
