Chad

I panicked internally as Nikki directed the security man to let Rebecca in. I was getting mad beyond my capacity as how inconsiderate Rebecca was being especially since we had just had met in my office only a few hours ago. I thought if she pissed me too far, I would give ahead to press charges on privacy invasion without hesitation.

"I'm not going to allow her into this house." I focused on my reality one more time and cut in with Nikki and the patient man still standing there, waiting for my decision. "Whatever it is she wants, I'll go speak to her myself." I said, turning around to meet Nikki's gaze and on seeing the frown that she had, I immediately went to her side and gave her a small kiss on her forehead.

"I'm sorry." I said when I pulled away, "don't worry about anything, I know how to feel with this." I assured her and looked up at the man, "come on."

I left her slipping into the couch with a childish pout and sighed in relief when she had cooperated.

When we were out of sight, I looked at the huge man with disgust, "what the hell was that for? My communication lines are fucking open, why would you come into my house to announce something like that?" I folded my arms across my chest, finding his act unbelievable.

"I'm sorry, you turned them off the last time we called you over something so stupid, as you said." He was quick to defend himself, irritating me further. I knew that it would be best to stop talking if I wanted to maintain my sanity and I did just that on the topic.

"Why is she here? Did I not ask you to dismiss her presence whenever? I literally stopped her access... ugh!" I felt like I needed a new security team, either that or I was being too harsh on myself over nothing. She was doing this to me and I despised it.

I took faster steps towards the gate, not wanting to leave Nikki all by herself in the house.

Rebecca was truly standing there, in the same outfit as earlier and her car was parked in front of the mansion. She looked like an impatient nurse from my point of view.

"What do you want?" I went to meet her with a frown, cutting straight to the point, ignoring how my voice was cracking in anger.

"You don't have to be so harsh about it." She frowned, "it was literally your choice not to answer the phone when I called." She spoke in her defense.

"That was not even ten minutes ago, aee you staying around here somewhere?" I frowned, putting different strings together, hoping my answer came out negatively but judging by the evil smirk, I got my response.

"We already talked about this, if this is about the child, give me fucking time to process everything. You can't just add to my anxiety by bullying me. Which is exactly what you're doing." I pointed out to her, "why exactly are you doing this?"

"I'm really not doing anything. I haven't told anyone about this, and I'm just as worried and nervous as you are about this so don't even try to play the man with the issues here." She out one hand on my shoulder. "None of my parents are aware about our separation, they only think we are not on good terms."

"That is totally your problem." I assured her.

"Chad, you might take this shit as blackmail but right now, I'm lonely as fuck and I rented a room for a few weeks because I need my sanity in check." She tried to say in further defense.

"Tall to your rich friends." I sounded inconsiderate but I was only trying to respect her because I thought it had to be big news for her as well. When I said it was over, I really meant it and it irritated me to know that she was still lingering around selfishly.

"They aren't good." She scoffed and folded her hands across her chest.

"Oh but they are good when it comes to finding the perfect buddies to take to your dumb parties." I shook my head, "please leave me alone." I hated to be the go to puppet when she needed one.

"Not until you come to your senses, man up and let us talk about the next steps we need to take regarding this pregnancy." She shrugged.

"Alright fine." I decided to work in her favour, knowing well she wouldn't leave me alone if I did not set her right in that manner. "Let's talk properly tonight, nine."

"Okay, night time, I like where this is going." She chuckled.

"I am serious." I refrained from snapping at her.

"Okay fine. I'll be here tonight, and you better be prepared, don't play me." She warned with a glare.

"There is nothing to prepare for." I missed my days in the office with my secretary. Even then, a relationship with Rebecca had felt right to some extent but I could not see how so anymore.

"I'll see you." She simply said in response and my heart calmed in relief, knowing well that I had managed to get rid of her temporarily.

I had only given her a time I knew would be pleasant to her and so I was hoping to think of ways to dismiss her later. With that in mind, I went back into the house, wondering what could be going on in Nikki's head at the moment.

Rebecca was taking things too far for her own good, but I wanted to convince myself that she was only nervous about the whole process although, it was just a contribution to her true form.

If only I had known how much would come with my decision to invite her over that night, I'd have allowed her vent her words angrily at the gates.
