“Rebecca what are you doing?” I retreated from her, my eye wide open in shock I had no proper reaction because it was utterly unexpected and my brain was still trying to understand what had happened and of course she had to take it the wrong way.
“I see you are speechless, that means you are all in, huh?” she came even closer than before and pulled me loser to her face with a firm grip on my neck and that was all I really needed to snap back to my senses. “What on earth are you doing?” I raised my voice, harshly slapping her hands off of me, I did not care less if I was supposed to respect her but she was being disrespectful and nothing pissed me off more.
“You think men cannot be sexually assaulted, this is assault if you ask me, what in the world is wrong with you and why do you suddenly think sex is the answer to everything?” I was so frustrated, all I could do was wave my hands around my head like a sprouted beanstalk. I was at the peak of anger.
“It got us into this mess in the first place, here we are trying to have a casual normal discussion and sex is really the only thing that comes to your head?” I found it difficult to stop saying the word especially because it bothered me that she had taken such an action.
“You didn't have a problem before!” her face was scrunched up in disappointment and she was only managing to irritate me even more.
“Exactly!” I pointed it out to her. “Before is the key word, when will you learn to respect that?”
She was about to say another word when m doorbell rang. At first I was startled because of the foreign spud I was definitely not accustomed to. Nobody managed to go by the security and my door was normally left open so whet h bell rang without the security men notifying me that somebody had showed up, I immediately knew that there was sonly one person who would probably show up at my house this plate and have the security ass.
"Oh my God.” I gasped, making attempts to dismiss Rebecca.
“Were you expecting a visitor or something?” she asked me with one raised eyebrow.
Nikki confirmed her presence by yelling my name and banging hard on the door like the existence of the world depended on it.
“oh this just got so much fun.|’ Rebecca lowered her voice, folding her arms across her chest. “You didn’t tell your little secretary girlfriend, did you? " She was making it so evident that she was mocking me but it was the least of my memories. I looked around the room and noted hat I must have left my phone back in the room and that meant Nikki must have tied multiple ways to explain why she was coming by.
“Rebecca, I need you to cooperate with me on this.” I bought my voice to a whisper so that only Rebecca could hear me. “She cannot see you here. I’m yet to tell her about your pregnancy because I know for sure she would go crazy and I’m yet to find a way to present it to her so please for the relationship we shared in the past, please do not ruin this for me.” I was willing to do whatever it would take me just to stop Rebecca from ruining things.
“Easy bad boy.” She chuckled, “what do you want me to do?" She asked and I sighed in relief, placing my hands on my head, pacing back and forth.
“Just go upstairs, I will find a way to figure this out.” I waved her upstairs and she thankfully did not argue it, buying me a temporary sense of relief.
“Nikki?" I called, unlocking the door. She was clearly about to dial my number because she had her focus on her phone screen and looked up at me with relief.
“What on earth happened to you?" She walked into the house, gently shoving me aside. “Were you already sleeping? Gosh, I was wondering where else I'd go if you had not been available.” She rolled her eyes and took her seat on the couch.
“What happened?” I sat beside her, genuinely concerned as to why she had come all alone at a time like this when she had left not too long ago.

“Okay s it is a long story,” she began. “I went to the grocery store and by the time I came back, the building was on fire, almost all the apartments were affected, thank God mine was not but the smoke is excess even though the fire had been put out. I tried to call you to come pick me up like a billion times, it was a grace trip that made me come here.” She used her hands as a fan and stopped to catch her breath, turning to look at me “did you fall asleep yet?’
“Y..Yeah.” I lied.
“I’m so sorry.” She looked like she felt genuinely bad for disrupting my sleep and that only successfully made me feel a lot terrible that I already did.
Did anyone get hurt? Are you okay?” I had just processed her words and was suddenly ive3rwgelmed by worry.
“I’m fine. She chuckled when she saw that I was scanning my eyes through her body to check for physical injuries.
“Chad dear." I heard a voice call from the direction of the stairs. “Who's it? Why did you leave me upstairs when we are not even done?’ I froze in my seated position while Nikki's eyes trailed in the direction of the voice.
As if she wasn’t already doing a good job with ruining my life, she was coming down the steps completely naked. I knew this was definitely not a good thing.
“Rebecca?" Nikki stood to her feet sharply with a gasp.
