Chapter 26

Sakshi PoV:

I started telling him about my relationship with Aayudh.

"We are good friends from childhood. His mother used to give me that motherly love which I missed from my mom. Till the age of ten years, both of our families stayed together. My parents and his parents always used to say we are born for each other."

His eyes became dark and serious. I stopped telling.

"Continue," Randhir said.

"One day something happened in dad's company. Both my dad and uncle fought and our families got separated. After a few months, they shifted to the US. But still friendship between me and Aayudh continued."

I went to the US for my Masters. There we both met again. He took me to his home. I am so happy to meet his parents. They used to love me as their daughter.

Two years I stayed with them. Ajay, Aayudh, Aayudh's sister Meera, me became good friends. We enjoyed life altogether. Those are the best days of my life. I forgot my loneliness. I gave my last semester and his parents called both of us to talk.

"Sakshi, we all love you so much. From your childhood, we have a plan to get u married to Aayudh. What do you think?" Uncle said.

"Sorry uncle, We never have that feelings for each other. Aayudh is a good friend to me. I can't turn it other way," I said.

Aayudh too supported me. Though uncle and aunty got disappointed, they still love me. I came home completing the Masters. I missed three of them very much. Meera asked me to come back. I went after a week to the US, telling my parents that I want to spend with my friends. My parents didn't know that I am in touch with Aayudh's family after their fight.

Aayudh along with his family went to a function. On their way, they met with an accident. Aunt, uncle and Meera expired on the spot where Aayudh alone survived. He was totally shattered. Ajay and I tried a lot to make him normal.

Nevertheless the efforts we made, he went away from us. We searched everywhere but didn't find him. He sent power of attorney documents to us. He gave power of attorney to me and Ajay. Ajay handled Aayudh's business too. I came back to India to avoid their memories.

I met you here and I increased friend circle and drunk to forget aunt, uncle and Meera. I didn't find anything wrong in my lifestyle until I missed you. On that day when you came to my engagement with Ajay, I spoken rudely. But later I realised my mistake. I thought to meet you but we got a call from the US informing about Aayudh. Ajay and I went to the US.

We felt very happy as Aayudh is back. I shared about you to Aayudh. He felt happy for me. As I am about to return to India, we went for the dinner. Ajay missed it having some important meeting. We had the dinner. After that I didn't know what happened to me.

Morning, I woke up and found myself beside Aayudh in the bed. He woke up and shocked as me. We both didn't understand what to do. I attempted suicide saved by Aayudh.

"Sakshi, why did you do this?" he said with dark eyes.

"I missed Randhir permanently. I can't accept anyone than him. But now, he won't accept me ever," I said with water flowing eyes.

"I know it's difficult for both of us. But we can't change it. You can't hide this and marry him. If you tell the truth, he won't accept you. So let's marry."

"What the hell are you talking? I can't be a wife to you ever. Don't talk about this again."

"Sakshi, let's marry for the society. But let's be friends forever at our home. I never touch you nor expect you to be my wife. This is what we can do to save our respect."

I agreed. We both got married. He never tried to force me. Once I felt dizzy and nausea. I expected something wrong remembering the night spent with Aayudh unknowingly. I met the doctor for abortion. The doctor tested me and said shocking news to me.

"Mrs. Sakshi, How can you expect baby when you are still virgin?" the doctor said.

"What do you mean, doctor? Do you mean that still I am a virgin?"

"Yes, Sakshi, you are a virgin. May be you felt dizzy because of stress."

I went home and found Aayudh in the hall. I got doubt on Aayudh.

"Aayudh, I...I am conceived," I said.

Aayudh eyes became dark and face serious. He started shouting at me.

"What are you saying? You said you don't have any such relationship with Randhir. Then what's the hell is this? You just go for abortion."

"What are you saying, Aayudh? It's your child. Did you forget about the night we spent in unconscious state?"

"Shut up, Sakshi. Don't try to fool me. I am sure it's not my child because I never touched you," he confessed in anger.

I cried out asking him the reason behind his drama.

"Why did you marry me by cheating me? How could you do this? You know that I love Randhir. I can never love you."

"Yes, I know. But what you don't know is that I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU FROM OUR CHILDHOOD," He said with tearful tone.

He continued.

"Sakshi, I won't force you. I never touch you. Just be with me. I can't bear this loneliness. It's killing me. I need you. Please stay with me. I don't expect anything from you than this."

"I can't do that. I am leaving now. I will tell everything to Randhir. He will accept me."

Aayudh tried to convince me to stay there. He begged me. Now he completely became insane. He held my hand and dragged me to the bedroom. He threw me on bed the forcing me.

"Aayudh, leave me. What are you doing? Are you insane?"

"I am sorry, Sakshi. But this is the only way to keep you with me. This will be the first and last time. I never do it again. This is necessary for me to make you stay away from Randhir."

I tried hard and pushed him away with all my force. His head hit the wall and started bleeding. I was in shock. Just then Ajay came. I informed Ajay about Aayudh's betrayal. So he came to take me away from him. He admitted Aayudh in a hospital. Aayudh went into coma. I took counselling there for a year to come out of that shock.

"I returned just before a month of your visit to my home. After that you married me blackmailing that you will kill my family and Ajay. Having no option, hiding my past, I married you."

I said but I found no emotions in his eyes. They were still dark and emotionless. I expected a hug from him which relaxes me. But he didn't.

"So this is your past. Just tell me one thing. When you tried to marry Ajay for money, why didn't you agree Aayudh? He is also rich, right? And similar to you. You both are same. Because both will go to any extent even to betray loved ones, just to get what you want."

Expecting him to understand me is my foolishness. After saying everything, still he doubts me. He never stops taunting me. If a person does wrong once, doesn't mean they will do wrong everytime. I can't make him realise this.

His character can't be understood by me. He said he forgave me. But still he taunts me. He hurts me. Then when did he forgive me?

"Sakshi, speak out. I asked a few questions to you. Ok, leave them. Tell me why should I trust you that you are a virgin till our marriage? Why shouldn't I doubt your words?"

My eyes filled with water again. My heart broken today. Till now whatever he said I thought it's because of anger. But today I understood that he really have no trust in me. Only once I broken his heart. But he is breaking my heart everyday. Pain will be much less if heart stops than the heart broken.
