Chapter 16
The bed felt way too comfortable for me, it almost felt like as if I shouldn't get up from it. However it felt like something or someone was on top of me, which caused me to open up my eyes.
What I didn't expect to see was Kurt on top of me staring straight at my face. I let out a scream while pushing him off me, and he fell on the other side of the floor, he let out a grunt as he landed on the floor.
I sat up on the bed and peered over it to see if he was by any chance wounded.
He was laying on the floor, holding his arm in agony. "What the heck was that for?" He asked.
"You are asking what the heck was that for, well what the fuck was that? Why were you on top of me some few seconds ago?"
He dragged himself to foot of the bed and sat there, "you know for someone as tiny as you, you do occupy a lot of space."
"Huh?"
"Last night I could barely even lay on the bed properly with you tossing and turning. I couldn't even get a shut eye, also have anyone ever told you that you snore like an ogre?"
I rolled my eyes, and got up from the bed and head inside the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a very much needed shower. Kurt followed me to the bathroom where he stood by the doorway.
I turn to look at him, wondering why exactly was he just standing there. "What are you doing here?"
"I want to see you undress. You have a really nice body."
I pushed him out of the bathroom, with him letting out a laugh, I made sure to lock the bathroom door afterwards.
I then did my business and came outside with my towel, cause I literally forgot to bring in my clothes. He was seated on the chair typing away at his phone, he looked up at me a smirk creeped up to his face. He lean his back on his chair, and place his foot above his knee.
Suddenly I felt myself shudder at the mere thought of him watching me dress.
I stood in the middle of the room as if waiting for something–i was waiting for him to at least stand up and give me some sort of privacy, he didn't.
I cleared my throat, "Mr Kurt Higgins, I would love it if you leave the room to at least let me get dressed."
"Not happening."
I exhaled out of my mouth, "I need privacy."
"And as your alpha, I forbid you any form of privacy."
I felt my eye twitch in frustration. He was being a quite an annoying piece of shit right now.
"As a slave, I have any form of privacy be it from my alpha, prince, or master. It is written down there in the rule book."
"Suddenly you are being bureaucratic?"
"Sir, it's just basic manner that I am asking from you."
He then raised up his hands as if in mock surrender, then stood up from the chair, placing his hands in his pocket he went out the door without uttering a single word to me.
I wore my clothes and then head for the door opening it, I saw Kurt leaning on the wall besides the door.
His attention went to me. "You're done, get out I need to take a shower as well. Also we going for an auction later on this afternoon."
Before I uttered a word he had already entered inside and lock the door behind him.
****
Kurt walked ahead of me, while I duly followed him behind. My mind couldn't help but wonder why exactly was he even doing at an auction.
We walked down a long hallway and entered inside a corner, in which two guards stood by each side of a huge mahogany door.
We got to the front of the guards, and they asked us what our names was and we told them. Then they let us in.
We got in and I was instantly hit with a gust of cold breeze, which caused me to pull my jacket closer to my body. If I had known that the cold was going to be this much, I would have gotten a larger jacket.
The inside was in a theatre like setting, with a stage down below, and a single light shining on the stage.
Me and Kurt walked down the stairs, taking a seat in the middle row. There were still people coming and there was a buzz around the theatre, then suddenly a man appeared and tapped on the mic in front of him which grabbed the attention of everyone instantly.
"Everyone welcome, to the weekly auction. Today we have some very important pieces that would most definitely grab your attentions. Before we start let's give thanks to our sponsors, Mr Brent, and Mrs Smith." A small applause came from the crowd.
"Now on to the auction, the first thing on our list is a very rare painting that was painted in the 1700 by an unknown painter who died by unknown reasons." A woman came holding a piece of painting with a small smile etched on her face, she showed the painting to everyone. "So who is going first?"
A hand was raised, "17,000." The raised hand said.
"17,000, anyone else?" There was no one else raising their hands.
"17,000 going once, going twice, gone. The painting has been sold for 17,000."
"The next on our list is a rare gem, that many people said it was from the Moon goddess herself. They claimed that it was blessed by her."
Kurt tapped me by my side, "that gem is the reason that I am here." He whispered and I looked at another woman that came in with an emerald green stone. I looked around and I saw that the audience was suddenly paying close attention to what the man was saying.
"Now who's going first?" He asked.
Kurt raised his hand, "50,000." My eyes widen at the amount that he called.
"50,000. Anyone else?"
"70,000!" A voice from all the way back called out.
"70,000. Is there anyone else."
"90,000!" Kurt said in a louder voice.
"Wow, 90,000. Anyone else."
There was a back and forth between everyone in the theatre until decided to finally break everything.
"600,000!"
That should have been it, that money is too much for anyone to be able to counter. Turns out I was right.
"600,000 going once, going twice..."
Then suddenly the door opened up and a loud voice exclaimed, "1 million."
