Chapter 30
I woke up in the middle of the night to a loud bang that came from downstairs.
I lay in bed and tried to listen in just to make sure that it was my imagination, there was silence, then I tried to go back to sleep.
I was half way through sleeping when I heard another loud bang, this time I set up in the bed. Suddenly the air around me felt cold.
I rubbed my hands together trying to keep them warm, I decided that it is probably something that the guards would take care of, and it's none of my business anyways.
I lay back down once again and pull the duvet over my head to hide my entire body. I tried falling asleep once again.
My door creaked on its hinges, opening slowly and my eyes shot open. What is happening? Where are the guards? Are they sleeping? Many questions were running through my mind.
I heard the hardwood floor creak underneath the weight of whoever the person was, it was almost as if the person didn't even try to hide the fact that they were intruding.
I close my eyes a bit tight this time as if whoever that person was would suddenly disappear. Then I felt my duvet being removed my body and I let out a loud yelp, before I felt a hand covered my mouth.
I looked at the face and realized that it was Kurt, I felt my fear slowly disappear and replaced with one of genuine surprise.
I removed his hand from my mouth and stared at him in bewilderment. "W-what are you doing here?" I asked him.
He just looked at me, it was then I noticed that he looked different, maybe it was cause it was night time, but his face was different as compared to how he was a week ago.
"Kurt, is everything ok?" I whispered softly, he placed his hand on my face, then I saw the huge blood dripping at the side of his body on to the bed spread, my eyes widen in fear.
"Kurt, what happened to you?" My hand reached for the injured part. He let out a groan of pain as my hands went there.
My mind was reeling with what to do to stop the bleeding, then suddenly the idea of using my healing abilities popped into my head. With no other options left, I closed my eyes and place both my hands on his injured part. I exhaled a very much needed breath from my lungs.
I then began to feel my energy flow through me going to my hands, I genuinely didn't know if it was going to work on an actual being, like I told Dennis before I have never in my life even try to use it on anybody asides from animals.
But there is no harm trying. I could feel my entire life force being put into healing this wounds. And this has been added to the reason I would never in my life use this abilities on another being that isn't an animal.
After a while I open up my eyes and saw that the blood had stopped dripping and maybe the wound had healed up I don't know.
Kurt looked me with a look of surprised etched on his face, he opened his mouth to say something, I would have listened unfortunately that was when my energy felt completely depleted and everything went dark, I couldn't hear anything, I couldn't see anything.

Early in the morning the next day, I woke up and felt the burning gaze of the sun entering my eyes which made me squint at it.
I wonder when is it going to be Autumn, that's my favorite weather. I didn't even realize that there was an arm around my body until I tried sitting up. I looked at the left side of my bed and I saw Kurt snuggled next to me.
Then I remember what happened the previous night before, I decided that maybe laying down for some few more minutes won't be that much of a bad idea. I also decided to snuggle in just a little bit closer to him.
Now that I think about we haven't have this amount of closeness before, aside from the night we danced at the ballroom at the NightFall pack.
Speaking of NightFall I wonder how the battle between them went, did they win? Judging by the fact that he came back alive probably meant that they won the war. But those injuries looked nasty as hell.
How many people survived? Was Dennis amongst the people that went with them to war? Was he OK? The door opening up and I turn my head to see who it was, only to see that it was Marge who stopped on her tracks on seeing that both me and Kurt were laying on the bed all snuggled up next to each other.
Her mouth was shaped in a small 'oh' then she slowly backed away and closed the door softly behind her. She better not tell anyone about this.
Then there was a small movement from Kurt which made me look at him, his eyes fluttered open and he stared at me for a couple of minutes, his mind processing what was going on.
Then his blue eyes looked up at me, and I sent his a soft smile.
"Good morning," I said and he also said it back, he sat up on the bed, rubbing his face with his hands trying to get the sleep away from his eyes.
"So, are you going to tell me what happened?" I asked and he turned his face to look at me while arching an eyebrow.
"About the battle between our pack and Nightfall pack of course."
"Oh, that. How about we discuss about it over breakfast?"
I just nodded and try the duvet from my body, I didn't even realized that bedspread was changed from the previous one due to the blood that had stained it.
I held out my hand for him to grab onto, which he did. His hands felt more firmer and calloused than the way they were before.
I managed to pull him up, and he stood at very tall height, suddenly I felt small standing next to him. Kurt look down at me but not with the usual condescending look but a much more softer look. He definitely had changed, I don't know in what aspect but I can sense it. What exactly even happened to him?
