Chapter 19
I looked at the necklace that was just dangling on the neck of Catherine, the gem shining brightly under the bright lights. Almost as if calling me to take it away from Catherine.
"I saw you talking to Madame Wendy. Do you by any chance have form of affiliation with her?" Raphael asked.
"Well, I think I remember her from my childhood as someone that used to come over to my visit my parents back then."
"Anyways I would like to have a conversation with you, if you don't mind," he said looking at me. "That's not a problem, go ahead sir."
"Wonderful," he dragged Kurt and put his arm around his shoulders. And they both walked, maneuvering through the crowd, Kurt turn his head to look at me, his eyes darting back and forth between me and Catherine. He was telling me to take the gem from her.
Again easier said than done, I felt an arm snake around my waist and I looked to my side to see Catherine leaning her head on my shoulder.
"Why don't we go and have our own private chat?" She said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
I didn't want to go, cause I didn't know what to expect from her, but instead I decided to do it for Kurt.
"Sure thing."

The room was small and the light was a bit dim, the curtains were open, with the night sky in full showcase.
"Do you care for a drink?" She asked going to a cabinet and taking out a bottle of wine along with two glasses.
I shook my head no, and she shrugged and then proceed to pour the drink into the glass. "Mmm," she said in a very low seductive tone of voice. "Are you sure that you don't want this? It taste absolutely divine."
I still shook my head no, once again. "Well suit yourself."
She took a sit on the couch that was pushed up against the wall at the side of the room. She pat the open space next to her, telling me to take a sit. I did as I was told.
She didn't say anything to me, as she kept on drinking. I place my hand on my lap with my eyes looking down at it.
"You know what I love the most about Raphael?" She suddenly asked.
I looked at with a confused expression. "Uh, no."
"Is that he gives me everything I ask for, without even batting an eye. It's like I have this power over him, well it's mostly based on the fact that he loves me oh so dearly." She let out a chuckle.
I nodded my head, wondering what exactly does this have to do with anything.
"Do you think you have such control over Kurt?"
"I don't," I realized the way I said it sounded rude so I retraced back. "I mean, I don't have any form of control over him."
"Pretty obvious, the both of you don't even look like you are in love. There is no form of chemistry between the both of you." She looked at the content in glass, twirling it around the glass.
"That's not my fault." I said trying to at least defend myself.
"Oh darling I never said that it was your fault or anything. I am just saying that the both aren't connected, Kurt doesn't look like the type of man that would spare a limb for you."
I suddenly did not like way this conversation is going, if she called me here to talk about my love life between me and Kurt I think it's best if I leave.
"Ma'am, if this is the reason why you called me here, I think it's time I take my leave." I stood up and walked towards the door, when she said something that stopped me in my steps.
"You went this gem on my neck now don't you?"
I turn around and look at her. "H-how did you know?"
"Honey, when you have live a life like mine, you would be able to tell things like this. Do you even know the reason why he wants this gem? Did he ever told you?"
I shook my head, she let out a laughter, almost as if making a mockery out of me.
"You don't even know anything about him. Is this really the Alpha and Luna of Nightfall pack? Well I sure hope his daddy is still alive, if not the pack would crumble."
I bit my bottom lip, hearing her say these things to me made my heart clench a little.
"Should I tell you the reason he wants this gem?" Her hand went to the necklace and softly touch the gem.
I didn't say anything, she took my silence as a yes.
"This gem belongs to Kurt's mother. She died when he was 12 years old, his death left a mark on the boy that he never bothered himself to come outside anymore. Poor thing locked himself up in his room for months on end, shutting everyone out including his father. This gem, was the only thing that was a memory of his mother, so he kept it with him. Only for him to loose it, well technically not loose it, more like it was stolen from him.
"It's so sad that he never said any of these things to you. Nightfall Pack is going to crumble very terribly if the both of you don't join hands with each other."
She stood up from the couch and came closer to me, she removed the necklace, carried my hand from my side and then place it on my hand.
Then she lean in closer to my ear, and said in a hush tone, almost as if she was sharing a secret to me. "I'm giving this back to you, cause this gem is of sentimental value to Kurt. But darling, the path both you and Kurt are taking is one of complete and utter damage to your pack, if care isn't taken, I foresee no future for it."
She then walk away and I heard the door to the room close shut. Then I felt my knees buckle and fell to the ground.
I open my hand and looked at the gem, seeing my reflection on the surface of it, I couldn't even recognize the person that I was seeing.
