Chapter 22 Someone Wanted to Kill Her

Since that day out of the ward, Clinton didn't come anymore.
However, Sandra had got used to his hot-and-cold shower treatment, so that she took it easy too.
After two-day hospitalization, she decided on her own to leave the hospital against the doctor's objection, as she was anxious about the truce agreement, so that she finalized the discharge procedure.
But to her surprise, the moment she left the hospital, she saw Clinton's car.
She curled her lips to put on a fetching smile and then tidy her hair up unconsciously.
She went over to knock at the window.
The car window was moving down.
A bright smile showed up, above the worldly affairs.
"Sandra, where are you going? I can drive you."
"Eddie?"
She was surprised and then looked at him up and down to confirm he was okay, and then she felt relieved.
She opened the car door to sit in the passenger seat, then turned to see his handsome face, hesitating.
"Are you... wounded?"
Eddie was surprised to hear it but then started the engine.
His smile was tainted with the childlike joy.
"No, I wasn't hurt. Just an accident so that I was delayed."
It was so nice that she cared about him.
"That's good."
Sandra took a deep breath and nodded. She got relaxed to focus on the road.
Two days ago, her brother seemed fine too. She felt assured.
"Let's go to the rural house."
The car made a turn deftly and then heading off to the Seashore Road.
The green grass and tree passed behind them fast. Sandra asked in hesitation.
"Where is Sir?"
It made her uncomfortable to mention the Greens.
After thinking it over, he didn't say Clinton had several women in and out of the house a couple of days ago.
He was afraid she would feel sad.
"I don't know."
Sandra nodded and didn't continue.
In the moment, a shadow fell down.
Sandra felt something wrong and when she looked up to see a big truck was racing straight across the yellow line towards them.
"Watch out!"
Her heart was twisted and tried to snatch the steering wheel when she came back.
All happened in a thunder-light moment. She closed her eyes and tried to turn the steering wheel to the opposite direction.
Bang! Chirp!
Huge sounds of collision and friction!
The car side bumped into the mountain. Some frightening sparkles caused by the metal friction.
After a tremendous turmoil, Sandra felt a warm embrace to protect her.
Finally, everything went quiet.
Sandra got out of Eddie's arms.
"Are you insane? "Who told you to rush to pretend me... Are you okay?"
It seemed like a miracle. Eddie didn't get hurt much.
Her face was pale and didn't care about his oddly twisted arm, but turned her back to check in details.
Afterwards, he smiled out of relief.
"Thank God, you are fine."
When his mind was relieved, his body started to tremble tremendously.
Her heart seemed to be kicked suddenly.
It had been too long that nobody really cared about if she was alive or dead.
He took over his broken arm and scratched a slice of cloth from her clothes to wrap it up immediately, eyebrows frowned.
"It may be painful, but bear it for moment. Don't move."
"Okay."
Her concern hidden in her eyes made him happy and comfortable. He nodded with smile almost.
When she was dealing with his wound, he turned back to check.
The road was near the sea against the mountain. Just now the trust that bumped them was off the cliff already.
It was unlikely they would survive given the height.
It seemed the driver was determined to die together with them.
And the driver's eyes...
they were focusing on Sandra. He was sure that his target was Sandra.
Someone wanted to take her life?
That acknowledgment made him nervous again.
He thought for a second and then grabbed her shoulders.
"Sandra."
"Yeah?"
She continued with what she was doing and answered carelessly, even didn't notice his address had changed.
"Do you recall if you offended someone recently?"
"...... "
She paused for a while and her hand stopped too.
