Chapter 27 A Beautiful Couple

When they entered into the venue, Clinton had his hands in the pants' pockets, walking very fast.
He didn't care at all that Sandra was on high-heels.
Sandra had to stride to catch him up, her fair straight legs showing up now and then from the split dress, sexily beautiful.
"Geeze, is that the new wife of the Greens? I heard she was not easy to handle with."
"Yeah, she is a bad ass. She was an orphan and adopted by the late Mr. Green from the orphanage. At the end she made her way up by seducing the young Mr. Green. Isn' t that a big success?"
"However, from the appearance, they are really made for each other.
"Made for each other? "Pooh... He loves someone else. I heard recently that Mrs. Charlize Lee was still alive."
The gossips came into her ears occasionally.
She had her chin up and pretended not to hear.
Wherever she was getting closer, the voice would automatically dimmed down, but naturally compromising to her air and beauty.
However, this made Clinton upset.
Especially when he saw John and Mr. Kanavi, senior.
"It's not easy for you to invite Mr. Kanavi as the witness."
His words were full of mocking and hate.
Did this woman seduce any man from the Kanavis?
Everyone knew that the Kanavis had been away from the underground world for many years. Most of times they even didn't show up in any occasions.
Sandra thought it over and spoke.
"I presented the land on the city west to Mr. Kanavi, senior. He like quiet life, so it could be constructed as a garden in future."

His eyes could kill.
He planned to present that land to Charlize!
His hands were gathered as fists. When he looked up to see Eddie was quietly standing in front of Sandra.
The sullen look in his eyes were like those of the wolf.
He was afraid he would hurt her?
Clinton was charged with anger, even his eyebrows were filled with cold air.
"Get away!"
His voice was not loud, but forceful, which attracted the attention of Mr. Kanavi at the table.
He had just a look and then seemed there was something wrong.
He looked at Eddie several times and then waved to Sandra to go over.
Of course, Sandra dared not to delay.
She lifted her dress and rushed to him.
The old man lowered his body, while Sandra got closer with her ear.
The man's husky voice sounded.
"Sandra, that young man reminded of my daughter who died in a car accident."
Sandra opened her eyes wide, and a big turmoil was going on inside of her.
In the Greens, everyone knew Eddie was an orphan without parents.
But only few knew that Eddie was actually the son of Clinton's brother. His brother didn't want to accept the appointed marriage, but eloped with his love. Later they had Eddie. However, the girl died of a car accident and then his brother killed himself to follow her. Before he died, he gave Eddie to the Greens.
Mr. Green, Senior, thought it was humiliating, so that he didn't allow Eddie to be named as Green but Clarke, a surname they conceived randomly.
But when Mr. Kanavi, Senior, mentioned it suddenly,
Sandra was really shocked.
"Do you mean Eddie was your daughter's ..."
She didn't finish her sentence as the old man waved his hand.
"Forget it. Maybe because I miss her too much so that I could mistake anyone who looked a bit similar."
Sandra had to shut up.
