TREVER: I am happy now that she has calmed down and is no longer crying. She sits back on my lap while she is linking with her father. I just wait, I am not going to rush them, as I know something important is happening right now, and I am not going to mess up the moment. After she asked her question of us wanting to go to the cabin with her, I was ecstatic, a chance to be alone with just them! Yes, please, but I also know that I would have to let my brothers know what we were planning. I link Barett. *“I am going to spend the nights at the cabin in the woods with Keska, and I will come back during the day and be seen around the house and pack grounds.” “You know that you need to wait to mate with her.”* Barett sends back. *“I know, but I have a feeling that this has something to do with her sister, and she doesn’t want to be around her. I still don’t have all the pieces to her story, so I think that this would be a good way to get her to open up to me. I will tell you this, as long as you only let Trent know, she has her wolf, and she is a hybrid.” “What? Isn’t she too young to have her wolf?”* He sends back. *“It’s part of her story, and I think once I hear the whole thing, I may just want to kill something or someone.” “You will not be killing anyone, but if you think it will help her, then I don’t care if you stay with her, just remember NO MATING!” “I got it, I got it.”* I link Dutch. *“What do you say?” “I say hell yes.” “I just got reminded, NO MATEING.”* I send him. *“I know.”* He sends back.“Alpha, I would love to stay with her, and I give you my word, on my family honor, NO MATEING. Besides, I don’t want Lilly’s wrath directed at me.” I say with a straight face. “I know what that woman is capable of, and I don’t want it pointed in my direction, not to mention her cousin Marsh, he would beat me bloody.” Keska just turns to look at me. “Nana wouldn’t hurt you.” She says. “Yes, she would beautiful, if she thought that I or anyone else was hurting you, she would go full-on warrior mode, and because she knows how to take one of us down, NO THANK YOU.” I say again with a straight face, and Dutch nods in agreement. She just smiles at me. I love the way her face lights up when she smiles, it’s like her whole demeanor lights up from within, like the sun shines through her.
DRAKE: I link Keska. *“It’s past lunch, and none of you has eaten anything since breakfast. It’s time we head back, so you can eat something before we have a discussion about the cabin and Jessie. I am not saying no, but we do need to talk about it all."* I say to her as I see her mood start to change. “Father says we need to head back.” She tells the group. They all stand up and head back towards the pack house. I linked James on the way back in. *“Keska has changed things on us. Meet us in my office in 20 minutes.” “Is it ok if I bring Janica? If it has something to do with Jessie, she should know.”* He tells me, and it makes sense as she will be the next Luna. *“Yes, and tell your mother as well.” “Ok.”* I close the link.
JAMES: After getting the link from Dad, I head over to Mom’s office. I know that Janica has started her luna training. I knock and wait for Mom to answer. “Come.” She called out. I enter and kiss her cheek, and go kiss my mate. “I just got a link from dad, he wants us to meet in his office in about 15-20 minutes. He is with Keska right now, and this meeting pertains to the Jessie issue.” I tell them. “Oh, goddess, what now? Has Jessie done something again?” Mom states. I just had a moment of clarity after that statement. “James, are you ok?” Janica asked me. “Yeah, I’m ok, it’s just that 3 months ago she would have said that exact same thing about Keska, not Jessie.” I say, and even Mom looks at me, with that same moment of clarity. She just shakes her head. “I don’t know whether Jessie has done anything or not, I just know that Dad said that Keska has changed things up on us. So, I am in the dark just as much as you.” I say.
JESSIE: I am watching the kitchen closely to make sure that Keska gets that salad, but I didn’t see her at all during lunch. Where is she, She never misses helping with meals, and come to think of it, I haven’t seen the youngest prince either. Well, if they are mated, then he will have to fight her off, after 4 days of that salad, and I will make sure she gets it with both lunch and dinner in some capacity or other. She deserves it after making me have to spend all this time in the cells, the little bitch.
DRAKE: When we get back to the pack house, I shift back and get dressed. “The four of you go get something to eat.” I tell them. “Kes, when you are done, please come to my office.” I say to her. She nods to me and heads to the kitchen with the others following close behind her.
KESKA: I go to the kitchen, and Sarah is there working on the dinner menu. “Hello, Sarah, is there anything left over from lunch?” I asked her. “Yes, plenty, come sit all of you.” She tells us. I start helping get plates and cutlery out for everyone. “What are you doing?” Sarah says to me. “Helping like I always do.” I say to her. “Not today you don’t.” she says. “Why? It’s not my birthday that was a couple of weeks ago, and it’s not the holidays, we have several more months for those.” I say to her. “Just because I said so.” She says to me. I don’t argue with her, I just take my seat between Trever and Mackie. A salad gets put down in front of me. Arugula, spinach, basil, asparagus, white truffle mushrooms, fried oysters, pomegranate, and pumpkin seeds, dressed with a honey and balsamic vinaigrette. It looks amazing. “Sarah, where are the others’ salads?” I ask her. “We didn’t have salad for lunch.” She says, “I thought that you had asked for it; it was in the back fridge with your name on it.” She says. “No, I didn’t ask for a salad, but it looks amazing.” I say, “Well then, go ahead and eat it.” She says. As she heats up the leftovers for the others. “Is there any of the smoothie left from this morning?” I asked her. “You are funny, Kes. I didn’t make you a smoothie, I only do that when you have asked for it.” She says. “But if you want one, I will have one of the staff get it for you, just tell me what was in it.” She says. “Strawberries, cherries, bananas, figs, cinnamon, honey, in yogurt.” I tick off to her. She puts one of the omegas on making me the smoothie. The others get their meals, and we all eat in relative quiet, or at least as quiet as a busy kitchen can be. We finish eating, rinse our dishes, and put them in the washer to be done with the prep dishes. And head out of the kitchen. I head towards the stairs and go up to father’s office. I knock and wait for him to call out to let me in. Trever followed me up. “I am coming with you, the last time you had a meeting with him, you were a mess for over an hour, not again, not on my watch.” He tells me. I just sigh.
