ADRIAN: “Hello, come on in.” I greet them. “Did you know that your grandmother is here?” Barett asked. “I am aware.” I say. “She is throwing a bit of a fit because she wants to see you.” Trent says. “She can wait, and if she can’t, they can send her up. I am not running all over to cater to her, I am not her mate.” I say to them. And they chuckle. “How is Kina? I hope she is doing ok.” Barett’s mate asked. “She is doing well enough, Lilly is with her now, and if she is up to it, I will let her know that you are here Alisha.” I say. She nods. “I have a feeling that we interrupted a conversation?” Barett asked. “Yes, Trever and I were just discussing what he would like to do.” I said. “Especially since he will have to wait for two years for Kes.” “Ah, yes, did he tell you that he would have to be the one to volunteer, to be our go-between for the communication issue?” “Yes, that was part of our conversation.” I say. But before we can get into any more of the conversation, two things happen at the same time: Kina and Lilly come into the sitting room, and my grandmother slams the door to our suite open. “ADRIAN, how dare you keep me waiting!” Amanda Sutter screeches at me. “HOW DARE YOU! Come break into someone else’s suite?” Lilly barks back at her in a tone that even makes the princes stand to attention, WOW! “HE IS MY GRANDSON! I can enter here if I choose.” “Really. This is not your, nor his, Pack House. This is Drake and Carla’s Pack House, and I believe that they hold a person’s privacy to be private. You just broke that privacy, you broke a door, which could have been to a different Alpha’s suite, now you will either fix it or you will pay to have it fixed.” I watch as Lilly crosses her arms in front of her chest and glares at my grandmother. “I don’t have to, Drake is my son, he won’t make me have to anything of the kind.” “Now, Adrian, why did you keep me waiting?” My grandmother asked me as she turned her back on Lilly.
TREVER: Amanda Sutter just doesn’t know when to quit. I watch as Lilly’s eyes glaze over.
LILLY: I am so over this gold-digging bitch. I linked Carla. *“Amanda just broke the door to Adrian’s quarters, and all three princes are here. If their people get wind of it, they could deem it a security breach, and there will be no saving grace for her; she will do time in the royal cells.”* I close the link before she has a chance to respond. “Amanda! I hope that you can handle time in the cells.” I tell her. “Oh please, Drake isn’t going to put me in the cells for a broken door or latch.” She snipped. “You are right, he may not, but the royal guard are not so forgiving as your son, they don’t care who you are related to, look around you Amanda.” I say. I can hear some heavy footsteps in the hallway outside.
CARLA: I got the link from my mother, and I knew there was going to be trouble. I linked Drake. *“Your mother is causing trouble, and this time I don’t think that there is anything that can be done to stop what may happen, I guess the princes were visiting Adrian and she literally broke the door.” “Goddess, I am on my way there.”* I close the link and shake my head, to bad Jessie wasn’t here to catch all this, just to show her how bad her grandmother can be.
BARETT: I am not going to lie, when Lilly used that tone, all three of us froze, I guess it has to do with years of training with Marsh, I swear that they sound so much alike it’s scary. I can hear the heavy footsteps outside in the hallway. “Your Highnesses, is everything alright?” Our head guard asked as he got to the door. “Yes, everything is just fine, Clark, a misunderstanding between cousin Alpha Adrian and his grandmother.” I tell him. “Where is the princess, sir?” “She is fine, Clark, she didn’t accompany us to visit her cousin this time, Princess Alisha wanted to visit her beta friend and Luna of Moon Rise Pack.” I tell him. He nods. Shall we remove her, sir?” “Yes, but only remove her, let Alpha Drake take care of his mother.” I tell Clark. “Very good, Sir.” I watch as he and another guard step over to Amanda, and each takes an arm and escorts her out of the room. Once they were out of the suite, Lilly burst out laughing, as did Kina and Adrian. Then the rest of us follow suit, until we are all laughing so hard we are in tears.
DRAKE: I get to my nephew’s suite as they are bringing my mother out. “Let me go, how dare you put your hands on me!” I hear my mother screech at the royal guard. “MOTHER! Will you please, for once in your life, just shut up!” I seethe at her through clenched teeth, and I let a bit of my Alpha aura out. “Drake!” She tries to scold me. “Enough!” “Where would you like us to take her, Alpha?” The guard asked me. “Just give me a minute to consult with my nephew.” I tell them. They nod. I tap on the door as I enter the suite. I see everyone in a fit of laughter. I do have to admit it is a bit funny seeing my mother in custody. I clear my throat. “Adrian, what would you like me to do with Mother?” I asked him. He starts to calm down. “Put her to work in the kitchen helping the omegas with the food prep and service; that should help to offset the damage she did to your door.” He says. Now I have to laugh, to see mother in the Omega’s uniform is going to be justice in and of itself. “Plus, I would have her spend the night in the cells, to make her understand that she can’t get away with disrespecting the royal house, like she did.” He states straight-faced. He is pissed at her, and I can’t blame him. “I will have someone up here to get this door fixed.” I say. He nods, and I leave. I step back over to the guards, “I assume that you heard the conversation?” I asked them. “Yes, Alpha, we did.” “Follow me, please.” I led them downstairs to where we keep the uniforms for the kitchen staff. “Sarah,” I call out. “Yes, Alpha?” Sarah answers as she comes from the kitchen. “You have a new helper for the rest of the day, and if she doesn’t do as you instruct her to do, link me immediately, understood?” “Yes, Alpha. But may I inquire as to why we have your mother joining us in the kitchen, sir?” “Yes, Sarah, punishment, by ROYAL decree.” I tell her. Looking straight at my mother. “Drake! I shouldn’t have to do any such thing, I did nothing wrong, I was visiting my grandson, I have a right to see my grandson.” “Yes, mother, but you do not have the right to break into his suite, and considering the royal princes’ were there, you are lucky this, and a night in the cells here is all you are getting, they could by rights take you back to the palace and hold you in the royal dungeon, and brand you a terrorist.” I tell her. If I sounded a bit harsh, I didn’t much care, she needs to understand that she can’t get away with everything she pulls. I linked our maintenance crew to get them to work on Adrian’s door.
