JANICA: “I know I am new to all of this, but I think that Keska has a point. I have heard what Jessie does to the people that she thinks are against her. This way, the rest of the ball can continue with the least amount of drama from her, then on Wednesday, she can leave, and Keska can come back to the house after she is gone with her mate.” I say to them to bring them back to the issue at hand and not go off on a tangent that has happened in the past that they all have to make up for.

JAMES: “Janica is right, and if it is what Keska wants, then who are we to say no? It was Keska that was wronged, so it should be up to her to decide what happens to them.” “I may not like it, and I know that I have a lot to make up for myself, but this is Keska’s call to make.” I say. “But I will say this, little sister, the other two, stay put. They don’t get a pass, and no it’s not because of the fact that they are not family, it’s because of what you said, what they would have done to you, the fact that they didn’t tell someone what Jessie was planning, that they are mean, and not nice guys to begin with, that is why they don’t get a pass.” I tell her.

DRAKE: “I can’t argue the logic, I don’t like it, but I can’t argue it. Keska, go pack what you will need until Wednesday. I can’t send Liam with you, she will find that suspicious, but I will not keep Trever from coming and going as he wishes, but you will have to make sure that you aren’t followed when you go to her.” I tell him. He nods his head. I link Mackie. *“I need you to go home and pack what you will need until Wednesday, you will be going with Keska to the hunting cabin.” “Yes, Alpha.”* I close the link. “So now go pack.” I tell her. I watch as she and Trever leave the office. “James, I am leaving it to you to stock the cabin with the food that they will need. And just remember, Jessie cannot catch wind of what is going on.” I tell him. “Yes, Dad.” He answers. We all get up to leave the office.

JANICA: “James, I have an idea, I will go and pack some of the food.” I tell him. “Ok.” “You will have to go to the store to get some of the proteins they will need, but some of the staples and dishes I will pack from the kitchen.” I tell him. “Let’s get to it then.” He says. I enter the kitchen. “Sarah, I am going to pack up some of the leftovers from the last few meals and some dishes.” I say to her. “Ok.” She says.

JESSIE: I see Janica in the kitchen packing food in containers and packing up some dishes. “What are you doing?” I asked her. “James told me about that hunting cabin up by the North border, I want to go spend the nights there just us, until the ball is over, too many people around, with all the other packs here, and I am packing us some food.” She tells me. “Oh, umm, the windows are stuck and don’t open.” I tell her. “That’s ok, that way no one will hear me scream his name when he takes me hard.” She says. “Ok, TMI, I don’t need to hear about my brother's sex life.” I say. She smiles, “You asked if you didn’t want to know, you shouldn’t have asked.” She says with a bit of a chuckle. I shake my head and walk away from her.

JANICA: That was interesting, but I will have to tell James that we will need to find a place to stay over the next few nights that she won’t notice, or raise her suspicions. James comes into the kitchen a few minutes later. I feed him a vegetable stick, with a “Sshh” sign attached to it, I can’t be sure that she isn’t still lurking somewhere. He nods as he takes the vegetable stick from me. And we walk out and head to the garage where his SUV is parked. We get in and head towards the store. “Jessie came into the kitchen as I was packing thing up, we will need to find some place to spend the nights, now until she leaves, I told her that we were going to spend the nights at the cabin up north, she said that the windows were stuck and wouldn’t open.” I tell him. “That’s interesting. How would she know that? Oh yeah, that’s right, she had them nailed shut when she had Keska kidnapped.” He says sarcastically. “Well, hopefully she won’t go snooping, after my comment about us spending the nights up there, I told her that the windows not opening was just fine, fewer people to hear me scream your name when you take me hard.” I tell him. He laughs hard at that. “What did she say?” “TMI, she didn’t need to hear about her brother's sex life.” I tell him.

JAMES: Well, I think Janica’s idea may work, telling Jessie that she and I will be at the cabin at least overnights, until the ball ends was a good idea. I link Wyatt. *“Hey, do you think Janica and I can crash in one of the extra rooms in the gamma suite?” “Yeah, man, anytime, but what’s up?” “If you meet us at the copse road, I will let you in on everything, but Dad can’t know I told you, or he will skin me.” “Sure thing, my lips are sealed. When do you want us there?” “In about 15 minutes.” “Ok.”* I close the link. “I told Wyatt to meet us at the copse road in 15 minutes, I hate not telling him; he needs to be in on this stuff.” I say to Janica. “I agree, but I also know that your dad won’t like it if he finds out.” “Wyatt is good at keeping secrets.” I tell her. “That’s good to know.” She says with a grin. I wrinkle my nose at her words. After we finish at the store, we head back towards the pack house, and I take the copse road and pick up Wyatt and Lexi. Then I head to the hunting cabin. Once we get there, we all start to unpack the food and put it in the fridge and the cupboards. “So, you know that Dutch is your sister’s mate, right?” “Yeah, I know.” “Well, after Keska turned 16, she got her wolf.” “What?” I nod my head. “Damn!” again I nod me head. “She wants Jessie out of the cells.” “What? Why?” “She says that it isn’t teaching Jessie anything, and it’s only serving to make her hate us.” “I guess I get that, but how did Keska get her wolf?” “Well, after everything she’s been through, the rejections, and the stabbing, it brought her wolf out. She’s a hybrid, she has Papa’s elemental genes.” He gives a long, low whistle. Again, I nod. “Ok then. But what’s up with the cabin, and the two of you staying with us?” he asked. “It’s to keep Jessie off balance. Keska and Mackie will be here until Wednesday, when hopefully Jessie’s mate will come forward to claim her, then they can leave the next day.” I tell him. “Yeah, but you’d think that she wouldn’t want anything to do with this place after what Jessie did.” He says. “I know, and I would agree with you, but she asked Dad to have the place; she wants to turn it into a vacation spot.” “Well, that’s one way to turn a negative incident into a positive outcome. Wish we would have thought of that.” “Lexi, I know that you are hearing a lot of this for the first time, and probably have questions, I also know that some of what you heard sounds bad, I won’t deny it, and I won’t defend it either, I was not the best person and neither was Wyatt, we both have a lot to make up for where our siblings are concerned, but I can promise you that going forward we both will, and are endeavoring to do better by them and the pack.” I tell Wyatt’s mate. She nods. “Every pack has its secrets, but as long as the ranked wolves do their best and have the pack’s best interest at heart, that is all any of us can do.” She says. I nod at her words. “We need to get back.” I say, and we all pile back into the SUV. And head back to the pack house.
