DRAKE: After lunch, I make the Pack-wide announcement, “All Pack members are to report to the training field in 10 minutes.” Then close the link. I have Mitchell and Frank bring the prisoners up from the cells and bring them to the training grounds. Once everyone is settled, I bring Keska with me to the middle of the field. I use my Alpha Aura just slightly to get everyone to calm down and be silent. “I am going to address an issue that has been a while in the making. Most of you know that Keska was stabbed back in the late spring, early summer. That incident caused her to shift early, it was her wolf that caused the ice statues, and ash piles that many of you witnessed after the battle. But that brings us back to the stabbing, there were 7 individuals involved with what happened. My eldest daughter Jessie, her two friends, Dedi Jax, Marla Quints, Kirk Anders, Rodney Barns, Brent Charter, and Ronnie Briginhall. Now Brent and Ronnie have already been dealt with by Keska’s wolf. We are here today to pass judgment on Kirk and Rodney. As well as to give you the back story of what many of you saw. I want you all to know that Jessie, Marla, and Dedi did spend time in the cells for their part in what happened; they did not get off Scott free, and they have found their mates and have left the Pack. Keska will shift so that you can see her wolf.” I turn to Kes and nod my head to her. Trever, Dutch, Mitch, Frank, and Pete step forward and place themselves in a circle around her with their backs to her so she can shift. Once she has shifted, she nuzzles Trever, and he steps aside so she can step out in front of me. The others turn to see her as well. Frank, Pete, and Mitch all reach out a hand to touch her. She turns her head to look at them as they do. {“I am glad to see you up and about Pete.”} She says to him. A collective gasp goes through those who are close enough to hear her. “Thank you, Corla.” {“Hello, Frank.”} “Hello to you, Corla.” {“I have yet to be formally introduced to you, Mitchell, but hello, I am Corla.”} “It is nice to meet you, Corla.” “Corla is a hybrid, she takes after her Grandfather, Rickard Colter. Some of you may remember him. He was a Phase elemental; he was able to change his physical self into the elements. Corla cannot change herself into the elements, but she can control the elements of both fire and water, and because of that, we were lucky that we didn’t lose any buildings to the fires that Stone Claw set. The ice statues and the ash piles were her way of defending herself while she helped defend the Pack.” They were silent for a few minutes. I was hopeful. But then the questions started. “Can she control her bite?” “You say that it is her defense, but what if she ends up in a fight against one of us? Can she control it?” They ask over and over, can she control it? “I don’t know if she can, she hasn’t been with us that long, just over a month, we don’t know what her powers are, what her full capabilities are.” “If she can’t control them, she can’t stay; she is too dangerous.” “We are sorry that the bad things happened, but if she can’t control her powers, she is too dangerous; she can’t stay.” I hear over and over. I hate them right now, but there is nothing I can do, except take my frustrations out on the two prisoners. {“I will go, none of you need worry.”} Came Corla’s voice loud and clear, so that those who hadn’t heard her before heard her now. And again, there was a collective gasp from those who hadn’t heard her before. I walk over to where a couple of other guards were holding Kirk and Rodney. “I, Alpha Drake Sutter, find you, Kirk, and Rodney guilty of falsely reporting a rogue attack, in order to do bodily harm, and attempted kidnapping. Do you have anything to say?” “It was all Jessie’s idea, her plan.” They both say. “Yes, and what has got you in this mess is the fact that you didn’t do the right thing and report it to the right people; had you done that, you would not be here today.” “Yes, Alpha.” They say dejectedly. I reach my hand forward and take their hearts one after the other. The guys surround Keska again so she can change back and redress. I then dismiss everyone.

LIAM: How could they, after everything, she saved them, and what do they do? They turn their backs on her. I just don’t get it. Well, if she has to leave, I am going with her. I don’t care what Mom and Dad say. I will leave with her. I can finish school wherever she goes. Hell, she’ll have to finish school wherever she goes.

DRAKE: After the executions, I go get cleaned up. Well, the Pack knows now about both Jessie and Corla. I don’t know how they feel about any of it, except that Keska and Corla are too dangerous. I shake my head. I head down to the barracks. I need to keep myself busy, or else I am going to lose it. I set up a table and I have the POW/refugees brought out one by one to get their names, and packs, and if there is anyone that we might be able to contact for them. Throughout the process, many asked about the red wolf, and if she was really real. I finally had it with their questions about her, I linked her. *“Kes, can you have Corla come to the barracks? Please, they want to know if she is real, and if she can talk.” “Yes, Father, I will come.”* I close the link. 5 minutes later, Corla comes into the barracks. {“I understand that several of you are unsure of the fact that I am real, well here I am, and yes, I am talking, and yes, I am a red wolf. Is there anything else that you would like to know about me?”} I sit at the table and watch their reactions to her.  I just smile to myself. “Can we touch you?” I hear several ask her. {“I will allow it, but be mindful, and once you have touched me, please move to the back so the others that are curious may come forward to also take a turn.”} She said to them. It took about 30 minutes for those who wanted to touch her to come forward and touch her.
