THE BEGINNING:CHAPTER XVIII:CLUES

Hello Doc, do you mind us using your computer?", Steven asked looking at the computer that was placed on a table behind the forensic scientist suddenly recalling the black box which he stole from the police chief. He beckoned on Jonas to come over before whispering softly into his ear compelling him to stride towards the computer ignoring the engrossed lab scientist standing beside the dead corpse with his scalpel pressing down on the cold flesh of the dead body cutting out a dead organ which he took out from the corpse and placed it among other repugnant stuffs he had removed from the opened torso the corpse inside a large black cellophane while Joe and Steven stood beside the Doctor staring at the murky liquid that came out from the cold body preventing him from noticing the secret video of the airplane that was displayed by the computer screen in front of Jonas who placed a pair of headset which he found beside the computer before plugging it to the computer and connected the computer to the FDR using a USB device in order to listen to what actually took place in the aircraft as well as copying the rough data into the computer system which they will send to the NAS database for further investigation following Steven's directives.
"Doc, what is that liquid? Is it blood or what?", Joe asked after observing the pale yellowish gelatinous liquid that stained the blue latex gloves of Doctor James including his lab coat.
"I'm almost done.... please hold on your questions and allow me to finish first", James replied struggling to root out a piece of the thick lungs that he had severed from the dead body as part of his sample collection which he would carry rigorous but knowledgeable research on along with other specimen he had collected from the dead alimentary canal of the corpses. He succeeded in wrenching a morsel of the lungs out of the broken ribcage after using his bone saw to cut out an opening for him to cut fragments of the lungs and thrust it into the large cellophane before tossing his scalpel into the sterile dish containing liquid laced with Ethylene oxide formula.
"So, you guys came in quite early and I really didn't expect that to happen but without delaying you officers, what do you wanna know? Oh! right....you already asked me a question. Well....I can say that liquid belongs to that corpse and it's kinda like the blood in our system but it's not. My guess is some strange creature that has undergone some chemical reaction which I speculate to be a scientific experiment", James said removing his tainted gloves from his hands and placed them on the desk before turning his back around to face the two agents who were peering at the repulsive insides of the corpses that has been torn open.
"How do you know that without much examination?", Steven questioned looking at the pale face of the dead body.
"Well...I don't that's why I said it just wild guess but to know for sure why that thing that looks like a human having a strange color of blood quite different from the other dead bodies and which was brought here from the wreckage, various tests needs to be carry out to ascertain the origin of this creature", James answered taking a liquid sample inside a test tube he had taken from the desk and went back to the desk where he placed it amongst other tubes he had arrayed before the agents arrived.
"Did you shut the door in order to prevent anyone from coming in because of this discovery?", Joe asked looking at face of the man that caused the wreckage trying to figure out his identity and took a snapshot using his cell phone.
"Yes that's right, and sometimes it's best not to be disturbed when carrying vital discovery of something that could change our lives", James replied placing his liquid samples in a small box which he hid inside a knapsack.
"Do you think that this body right here must have been the major cause of the crash?", Steven inquired looking at detective Joe who was taking wild photos of the dead creature.
"I don't know and it's your job to figure out while I check the bodies over there to ascertain what killed them", James said strolling over to the other section where the other dead passengers were kept with the two agents following behind him.
"And have you done that already?", Joe asked observing his bare fingers which had no gloves on it.
"You have keen eye, Mr.... Joe Starkson", James said peering at his fake iD card, "As you already noticed, I have completed my examination with these bodies except for that one over there", He continued pointing to the lifeless creature far off from before noticing a third agent sitting down listening to some device from his computer.
"And what are your findings, Doc?", Steven asked resting his butt on the concrete bed beside a corpse with his arms folded in order to listen attentively to what the scientist have to say while Joe began taking wild photos of all the corpses including the disfigured head of Malcolm's corpse.
"It seems all the passengers except three corpses here were killed by a some kinda creature. During the examination, I came across similar claw marks on their bodies including the dead NAS agent which led me to believe our dead friend over there most likely had something to do with it", James explained gazing at the spellbound faces of the agent standing in front of him.
"And the three bodies?", Steven asked looking at the doctor.
"Maybe the crash killed them since I found no claws printed on their bodies especially the head pilot who had his face eaten by scavengers", James replied before hearing heavy footsteps approaching in the corridors outside the ward.
"Quick! Hide those photos! The cops must have arrived!", Steven shrieked loudly at Joe before running towards Jonas in order to hide the flight recorder leaving Doctor James who stare in wild shock as the door burst opened revealing the furious police chief and his crew storming inside the room in order to get the three agents whom they had figured to be in the morgue through the help of the unit secretary that led them to the ward. The trios looked stunned at the pack of officers who bombarded the room with heavy gadgets on their body and stood transfixed at the tamper face of the police chief who glared at them furiously for meddling in their investigation.
"Hand over the device, right now or else everything here will go ugly", the police chief said after long silence between the two sides and headed forward to Jonas who was filled with apprehension standing in front of him with his bloodshot eyes peering at the pale face of Jim Jonas.
"Give him the device, Jim", Steven said to Jonas who obeyed slowly placing the device on his rough palm.
"'Be a good boy and remove your damn hands off the device now!", The police chief thundered angrily and wrench it away from Jonas frail hand.
"And now boys... please take this guys back to headquarters, we have some unfinished business to attend to. Some of you clean up this mess right here and put it inside the back of my truck", the police chief ordered waiting for his men to carry out his order as they dragged off the trios back to their police car in handcuffs leaving the chief inside the room with the
