BOOK 1:THE BEGINNING:CHAPTER L:ANOTHER ATTACK

Leonardo met Jason reading a book beside his locker after walking all the way from his classroom. He hadn't been himself lately since the last weekend attack in the school premises during the game and he had kept his thoughts to himself even though his guts was telling him the injured victim sustained an attack from a werewolf like himself and not until his speculations based on what he saw will be proven yet, he will have to remain quiet like the other students in his class. Telling his father about the incident was the last thing he wanted to do right now that he was yet to confirm exactly what he saw despite the fact that his father, an alpha of his wolf pack ought to know what transpired at last game.
"Did you hear the news?",
Jason asked and closed the book he was reading as soon as he saw Leonardo searching his locker for something he had found missing from his backpack.
"Yeah, we all did in our class",
"How come? I thought you were at the gym during the english lesson",
"I was but someone else told me when I got back and you weren't there",
"I had some things I needed to take care of",
"I see",
"That explains why you ain't surprise at all",
Jason replied looking at the few passersby roaming around the hallway.
"Yep. But even if I hadn't heard about it, I still would not have been surprised at all at the principal's announcement this morning",
"Yap. His decision to suspend all the basketball games for the entire month including the soccer team was predictable with what happened last week",
Leonardo moved aside and slammed the lock shut after getting what he was looking for. Then he turned to leave and Jason, still holding his book, followed behind him while his left hand was tucked into his pocket. Jason accompanied him as they stroll back the way Leonardo had took till Jason stopped at the stairs.
"You heading back to class, right?",
"Yes. We still have one more lesson before recess what about you? You coming?",
"Nah, I still have something to sort out with the guidance counselor",
"Goodluck with that then",
"I guess everyone is still shocked about the incident especially those in our class",
"But they can't say anything or do anything about it because of what the principal told everyone",
"It's only right that they refrain people from talking",
"They probably don't want unnecessary rumors going around for no reason",
"Come to think of it, Mary didn't show up for school today like she did last week",
Jason pointed out.
"Her absence turned out to be good thing",
"You got that right. She would have freaked out if she had been at the game",
"I suppose you are right",
Leonardo replied taking a look at some of the bystanders who were watching them and they quietly walked away from them once they saw that he was staring at them.
"Before you leave for the guidance counselor's office, do you know if the victim survived or not?",
Jason paused for awhile and took a look around to see if any of the teachers was lurking around the hallway. Leonardo took notice of this and quickly joined him in scouring with his eyes, the hallway partly crowded with a few students walking to and fro.
"Who are you looking for?",
He asked again after finding nothing useful.
"I'm just checking if any of the school teachers are close by",
Jason responded looking the other way around.
Then he returned his back at Leonardo.
"Now are you satisfied?"
"Fine, I'll tell you what I know but don't go around telling anyone",
"You can trust me enough to keep this a secret",
"Luckily, mom was amongst those who did the surgery and she told me that he barely regain consciousness after the operation was done for him to recover from his wounds",
Jason whispered trying not to get his voice heard by those passing by.
"It's such a relief to hear that. Who knows what will happen to the coach if he had died?",
"But he's still in a coma and according to my mom, she told me that his wounds were fatal and wondered what on earth could have attacked him while he was alone in the gym?",
"Sounds like a monster attack to me",
"That's what she thought as well but it was easier for her to conclude that a stray animal was the culprit",
"Logically , that's what anyone would have thought if they were in her shoes",
"That's not all. She said that his throat was almost chewed to shreds and that there's every possibility that he wouldn't be able to speak again if he manages to recover",
"I feel bad for him",
"Me too. He must be going through serious pains right now",
"And your mom really felt like sharing all these intel with you",
"Perhaps, it was because the incident took place in my school and she was terrified to see the way the victim was brutally attacked and she still is afraid as we speak",
"Well...I have heard enough..You got to be going now",
Leonardo replied and tapped Jason's shoulder but then, they heard a loud scream in the hallway most likely from someone who might have seen something appalling. The voice was that of one of a frightened woman , and it arrested everyone's attention in the hallway from whence it resounded from,at the far end of the broad corridor.
"What the heck was that shout all about?",
Jason questioned as he turned around to figure out the direction of the voice.
"It came from that direction",
Leonardo said and sprinted forward, following a little group of curious individuals like himself as well as Jason who trailed behind him till the crowd arrived at the counselor's office where the shout had emanated from. They met one of the female teachers shedding tears in the arms of another student at the door post while staring at the corpse of the counselor who sat down on his seat with blood covering all over his tattered suit. His body was gushing out blood from his huge wounds and a whole part of his gut was ripped open for all his bleeding organs to come pour out on his thighs.
