chapter 19

Matthias POV

The whole scene changed, and she was on top of me, riding me, sending me flying up to cloud nine. I stared into her eyes, drinking her in, loving every second of her gorgeous face. There was something in her face that drew me in deeper, that had me desperate to know more. I wanted to cling onto her, to hold her close to me, to never let her go...

"Boss? Boss?"'

"Huh? What?"

"Sorry, boss, I didn't mean to wake you when you looked so peaceful, but you were talking in your sleep." Khalid grinned at me with a guilty look on his face. "Are you alright?"

I wanted to ask what I was saying, but I also didn't want to know. It would probably be terribly embarrassing. If he told me I said Josie, I would die. "Right, yeah, sorry. I'm exhausted. Have you got all your stuff?"

''Yes boss, we've arrived at the wedding reception, Josephine is with her friend, Maya.''

''Security?''

''Yes, Galen.''

I sighed deeply, preparing myself for another round of lies. There was hardly any point in keeping it up when Khalid could see right through me, but I didn't want him to panic. This was for his own good.

We went inside to the Garden Hills, a beautiful and luxurious venue for weddings, upon a hill that seeks through the ocean and the sky above.

''Mr.Lekas it's a pleasure to meet you,'' a middle-aged man extended his hand out to me with a smile on his face.

''Flynn, a pleasure to meet you as well, sorry my fiance couldn't make it right now, it's just me.''

''Oh! No problem. Let me escort you around.''

Flynn, Khalid and I walked around the venue and saw the exterior of Garden Hills. It was large, certainly, almost intimidatingly so. On climbing out it took a more detailed form, natural grey stone with all the hues mother nature can provide.

The windows weren't the large ones that are so fashionable now, but more the size she used to see in old country cottages, and like them they were mullioned.

"Oh my God, so much. I love it." I had a glint in my eyes, a shine that hadn't ever been there before. Thank you, I think this is it.''

''Oh, that's great! I knew you'd like the place,'' Flynn smiled as he took us back where we came from. You don't know much I appreciate having you here. It's great knowing that you're underneath me and I can call you whenever I need to.''

''Sure thing. Flynn, thank you once again.'' Flynn left me alone with Khalid by the main entrance. The sounds of heels clicking through caught my attention and I turned around to see who it was.

Destiny Hilton. My ex-girlfriend of two years back at Columbia University. Our relationship was toxic, nothing but lust and anger. We were like Tom and Jerry; fighting, yelling at each other.

It has gotten to the point where I had to break it off and moved on with myself. But, no matter how much I try, I always see myself back to her.

I blame the sex and her beauty.

Brown hair framed a heart-shaped face with expressive eyes bright with humor. A dazed expression dominated her features. Her voice was low and echoed around the behemoth room. Her cheekbones sat high on her face and a smile that sent people running and screaming curved her lips.

''Miss me?'' She said with a smirk.

''What the fuck are you doing here?''

''Love, I'm the coordinator at Gardens Hills.''

I gulped down anxiously as she raised her brows at me with an evil smirk on her face.

''A little birdie told me, that you're getting married? I thought Matthias Lekas is not the marrying type.''

''I've changed. I met the love of my life.''

Her eyes softened with humor. ''Oh, for real? I want to see her.''

''Ah, my fiancé is busy, running the company with me it's a tough job.''

''Well, that's okay. You're free tonight, right? Invite her over at Grey's, there's a party going on. Music, dancing, food. I'm sure you don't mind about that."

''As I said, my fiancé is busy.''

''Everyone has time for a social life Matthias, I'm sure your fiancé does too. Come tonight, I want to get to know her.''

''Why?'' I snapped.

''Well, why not?''

I sighed and pressed my eyes together. ''Fine, I'll go tonight.''

''Mphm this should be fun. Matthias, Khalid,'' she nods her head went back to the stairs while I walked outside pacing myself to the limousine.

''Boss, where to?'' Abel said.

''Take me to Helena's, also call Galen for me, tell him to bring Josie.''

''Got it.'' I place my head back on the window and scanned my hands roughly down on my face.

"Luckily, nothing has happened yet," Khalid said then gave me a look, as if he wanted to see if I was hiding anything new from him. Nothing had happened in the past week, but I still flickered my eyes away.

"Do you like her?" Khalid said to me as I scroll through the phone. My eyes targeted back to Khalid slowly as he twists his neck from the side slowly, waiting for an answer.

''Who are you talking about?''

''You know exactly what I'm talking about the boss.''

"Sure, she's cute.''

''Cute?'' He questioned.

I shrugged, he rolled his eyes. "Yeah... Okay...''

"I'm not sure yet," I replied, squirming my head away. "We'll see where the night takes us." I looked down at my phone again and was skimming through Josie's Instagram photos.

She had a kind of understated beauty, perhaps it was because she was so disarmingly unaware of her prettiness. Her black skin was completely flawless.

Somehow her imperfections made her perfect. There was a shyness to her, hesitation in her body movements and a softness in her voice. Her cream dream had a tailored look that was bold against her dark skin.

"BOSS? BOSS?" Khalid said.

"Huh?" I spun my head rapidly back towards Khalid suddenly realizing that I'd been lost in my own thoughts.

''Are you alright?''

''Yeah, yeah,'' I'm fine.
