CHAPTER FIFTEEN

LIAM POV

She picked up on the first ring putting my patience at ease.

"Sir."

"Did she receive the roses?" I asked curiously.

"Yes and she seemed very surprised to see them. I must say that you must have caught her off guard."

"That's great, what did she say about my invitation?"

"I think that she's going to accept it, you just have to come pick her up."

"Liam?"

"Yes?"

There was a silent pause.

"As much as it hurts me I know what you're up to and I don't want you to involve Bambi."

A chuckle escaped my lips.

"Oh you're playing the mother hen now?"

"Those girls are like my daughter's and I don't want to see them hurt or go through what Amelia experienced."

"Bambi is a good girl, innocent and fragile, don't hurt her."


"Alright I won't do anything to your precious girl you have my word."

"I don't trust you when it comes to women."

Before I could utter a single word the mistress had already hung up on me.

I sighed deeply.

Liam Praise always gets what he wants and nothing has ever stopped him when it comes to a woman he wants.

This is all part of my game plan.

Bambi is just my target this time.


KACEY POV


"Bambi."

When I turned around I found Amelia staring at me.

"Hi Amelia."

"We aren't friends so stop acting like we're so close I only came here to personally warn you."

"The glamor and fame will get to you and in the end you'll have a broken heart as his remembrance and betrayal."

I gave her a puzzled look.

"What do you mean?"

"You need to stay away from Liam if you know what's good for you."

"I already know your story. I mean the history between you and Liam Praise but I'm not romantically interested in him."

"I was once like you Bambi. I never thought that I could ever fall in love with a man like him but even if he ignores me he still makes my heart flutter."

"I love that jerk even despite what he made me go through. I still have feelings for him."

"I'm just going to the event to have a good time. You can keep Liam, he's all yours."

Amelia scoffed in annoyance.

"You're more naive than I thought Bambi."

She walked away leaving me confused.

It felt like I was in the middle of a love triangle.

I went back to Campus in high spirits. I never imagined that I would ever feel this excited to see a stranger I barely knew.

But a fancy event meant that I had to get all dolled up and meant that I needed to find the perfect dress.

By the time I arrived at Campus Ronnie was already asleep. Over the past few days she's been getting suspicious about the study group I made up. It means that I'll have to come up with a new lie. I hated lying to my friends but I felt like I didn't have much of a choice.

Luckily tomorrow was going to be the best day ever. It was Saturday and it finally meant that I could oversleep without any worries of being late for class.

"You seem a bit over the edge, what's up with you?" Ronnie finally asked as she made breakfast.

"Nothing, I'm just in a good mood this morning."

She shrugged carelessly.

"Okay well there's a party taking place tonight I wanted to know if you would tag along I hear that it's going to be epic."

"I would have joined you but I have some plans this weekend."

"Do you have to study during the weekend?"

I shook my head negatively.

"No it's nothing like that, I just got invited somewhere by a guy."

Ronnie's eyes widened in shock.

"Oh my gosh you already met a guy?"

I nodded quietly.

"It's not a serious relationship, he's just taking me out."

"He must really like you."

"Well more like the new me."

"So what's his name?"

"Umm Liam."

"Wow that's a cool name, I'm sure that he must be good looking."

"Yeah he's quite a catch especially with the ladies."

"Is that jealousy I'm sensing?" Ronnie teased.

"I barely know the guy Ronnie. I'm not romantically interested in him or jealous, this is just a one time thing."

"I'm happy for you Kacey and I'm glad to hear that you're seeing someone else. Maybe Maxwell will finally stop obsessing over you."

I forced a smile.

"I guess you are right."

Later that afternoon I decided to text Bella for some major fashion advice. I know that Ronnie and Ella would have helped me in a heartbeat but this job had to remain a secret at all costs.

She sent me the address to her place and I took a cab and went there. Twenty minutes later I stood in front of her house.

I knocked on the door and a few minutes Bella opened the door and welcomed me inside.

"I'm glad that you thought of me during this crisis so let's begin, what type of dress do you want?"

Bella opened her closet.

And I let out a gasp.

Her entire closet was like two bedrooms.

"Are these all your clothes?"

"Yep you can take anything you like."

I turned around to look at her.

"But I'm confused Bella if you have this much money why are you working at club kiss?"

"My parents left their house well. It's more of a birthday gift since they are always out of the country."

"And I don't have many friends here so I used to feel lonely when I saw the advertisement for club kiss. I saw it as an opportunity to be in the company of girls around my age."

"They rarely come to visit me anyway."

She took out a dress out of the closet.

"What about you, why are you working at club kiss?"

"Well I know that we are supposed to keep information about our real lives confidential but I consider you a close friend Bella that's why I'll tell you the truth."

She nodded quietly.

"I ended up working at club kiss because of a few debts my father left behind."

"My mother owns a bakery but it's not enough to cover all the expenses and in order to help her I had to accept this job even if it meant keeping it a secret from her."

"Wow, that must be hard."

"Yeah and I have to keep this job a secret from my friends back at Campus."

Bella looked stunned.

"Campus?"

"Yes I'm a student at Venus university for the gifted."

"I study there under a scholarship."

"Wow you must be really smart and yet circumstances have bound you to such an awful job."

"I know but each day I go on stage I always remind myself that I'm doing this for my mother so we can't lose the bakery."

Bella placed her hand on my shoulder.

"You're a very good daughter Bambi."

I smiled at her.

"Actually my real name is Kacey."

I offered her my hand since we were meeting each other for the first time with our real identities.

She grasped my hand gently.

"My name is Isabella."

"It's nice to finally meet the real you."

She smiled back at me.

"Same here."

"So enough chatting let's know to find you the perfect dress. I'm sure that I have the perfect dress somewhere in here."

"Let's start looking."

The day it was time for the event luckily Isabella had helped me pick out the right dress just in the nick of time. That night I left the campus dressed casually. A simple sky blue dress with some flat shoes. Isabella promised to bring the dress and other makeup supplies at the club kiss.

Before I could leave campus a voice stopped me.

"Kacey?"

When I turned around I found Elijah staring at me.

"Aren't you going to the party?"

"No, I already have plans tonight."

"Where are you going?"

I sighed softly.

" A date."

Elijah looked bewildered.

"A date?"

I nodded quietly.

"With who?"

"Look Elijah I'm already running late. I don't have time to explain all the details right now."

He shook his head in disbelief.

"I don't believe a word you're saying to me Kacey but you're hiding something and sooner or later I'm going to find out what it is."

"You might have fooled Ronnie and Ella and convinced them but you should know that I'm different and I know you better than anyone else."

"If you're seeing Maxwell behind my back I promise that I'll make sure that he gets expelled from this campus."

"Maxwell has nothing to do with this and you should get your temper under control. I'm not a little kid anymore Elijah I'm capable of taking care of myself."

"So please leave Maxwell out of this because he's innocent this time."

"I loved you first Kacey."

There was a silent pause.

"Always love you even when you push me away."

"Have fun on your date."

Elijah walked away leaving me puzzled.
