CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

KACEY POV

My mother's words kept ringing in my ears. I knew that even though I tried pleading she wouldn't take no for an answer.

"You better say goodbye to your friends because you're never setting foot on this campus."

She glared at me angrily.

"And this time you won't dare go against me Kacey is that clear?"

"But mother…"

"I won't repeat myself you better pack your stuff I'll be here to fetch you when the semester ends."

Before I could utter a word my mother was already out the door. All my efforts had gone down the drain and there was no use in begging her.

I slumped on the bed in disbelief replaying everything that had happened like it was just a movie.

Ronnie walked in with a sigh for a moment there. I thought that she looked furious.

"Hey I just saw your mother leaving and she looked furious."

I sighed softly.

"That's mostly because of me."

"What happened?" Ronnie asked curiously.

"She found out about the scandal. I don't think that she'll ever forgive Ronnie."

She sat beside me.

"Kacey, she's your mom. She's bound to forgive you for your mistakes. I'm sure it will just give her a little more space to process everything."

"You don't know what my mother is like, Ronnie. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and she has always forgiven me but not this time."

"Only a few weeks are left until the semester ends."

Ronnie smiled at me.

"I know and I'm very excited. I can't wait to visit my parents. I miss them so much."

"You should come with me. I'm sure that they would be delighted to meet you."

"I wish I could go with you Ronnie but my mother has already made up her mind."

She cocked a brow at me.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not coming back to campus for the next semester."

"What why?"

"My mother wants me to study from home where she can keep an eye on me so this is my last semester here."

"Does Elijah know?"

I shook my head negatively.

"He doesn't know anything but I'm sure that he'll be devastated when he finds out the truth."

"Either way you should tell him you can't keep him in the dark."

"Actually that's what I plan on doing. I don't want him to know anything."

"You can't hide the truth forever Kacey, he'll eventually find out or I'll be forced to tell him the truth."

"What about Liam? Are you going to tell him the truth?"

"No I don't think that it's necessary besides he doesn't need to know anything."

"I've finally realized that he doesn't care about me."

"Even if I'm gone it will be just like I never existed to him besides he has Amelia to keep him company."

"I don't want to talk about this anymore tell me about Res you've looking pissed all morning what did he do this time?"

Ronnie shrugged carelessly.

"I know that you're hiding something, just spill the beans."

"Remember one of the days you slept out?"

I nodded quietly.

"Well Res showed up drunk claiming that his little fling locked him out so he came here asking for a favor."

"What kind of favor?"

"Well he wanted to spend the night here."

A gasp escaped my lips.

"So did you allow him?"

"Of course I wanted to stop him but he barged in here without my permission and I didn't want to cause a scene late at night so I let him spend the night."

"Did you get laid?"

Her eyes widened in shock.

"Kacey!"

"Of course not nothing like that happened besides I'm not his type."

"But he kissed me."

"He kissed you on the lips?"

Ronnie nodded shyly.

"Yeah but he doesn't remember kissing me because he was drunk."

Her eyes met mine.

"He might not remember the kiss but I'll cherish it forever because that was my first kiss."

"So does that mean that you and Res are no longer friends?"

"We weren't even friends in the first place besides he still hates me."

"So from now on I'll just try to ignore him because I'm tired of being hurt by someone who doesn't even give a damn about me."

I grasped her hand gently.

"You deserve better Ronnie and Res is an idiot if he doesn't know how special you are."

She smiled at me.

"You're right Kacey, I do deserve better."

LIAM POV

It's been two months and I still haven't mastered the courage to even call her back, especially since what happened at the charity event. I'd always look at her number but never dated to call her. Since everything was out in the open I had to face the wrath of the mistress.

"Kacey violated one of the clauses of the club's contract."

I cocked a brow at her.

"And what's that clause?"

"Sleeping around with potential client's."

"Well that's where you're wrong mistress because I'm one of your clients since I'm the co-owner of this club as well."

"I have a feeling that Kacey is not going to come back, especially after the scandal that took place."

The mistress nodded quietly.

"I'm aware of that and Amelia is going to get harshly punished."

"But what about Kacey?" I asked curiously.

"Kacey Simpson sent a message a few weeks saying that she'll never come back here again."

"So I took the liberty of terminating her contract. She's one of our best dancers and I hate to see her going."

I nodded quietly.

"So after the message she sent did you hear from her again?"

The mistress shook her head negatively.

"No, I haven't heard from her."

"Alright then."

I got up from my chair ready to leave but her voice stopped me.

"You care about her don't you?"

I turned around facing her.

"Yes."

"Just don't break her like the way you broke Amelia. Kacey is a good girl, she doesn't deserve to be treated that way."

I nodded quietly.

"I never thought a man like you was capable of loving someone but this is what love does to person Liam."

"If you truly love her then you'll go after her and win her back."

Despite the battle raging inside me I had fought against the warning that my brain was giving me and chose to listen to my heart for the first time.

I stood at the entrance of Venus university for the gifted. I had made up my mind as I held the bouquet of red roses in my hand. I was going to apologize to Kacey. It might have taken long for me to realize the truth but I just hope that she forgives me because I've been acting like such a fool.

I walked inside and all hell broke loose when the female students began recognizing me.

In just a few seconds I was surrounded by them until I heard a male voice call my voice as he dismissed the female students away.

It was the principal I had recognized from one of my visits.

"Liam?"

I turned around facing him.

"Sir."

"What are you doing here?" He asked curiously while staring at the red roses in my hand.

"I'm here to visit one of your students I just hope that I'm not too late since many of them must have already gone back to their hometowns."

"I'm very disappointed in you Liam especially since you messed around with one of my students."

"I'm not here to hear your lecture sir."

"Just give me the information I need and I'll be on my way."

"I'm looking for Kacey Simpson. Is she still here?"

"I'm afraid not Liam the girl left a few days ago with her mother and she's never coming back here."

"Where did she go?"

"I don't know."

"Since you've gotten the answer you wanted you can now leave."

The principal walked away and I looked around the campus lost.

"Are you Liam Praise?" A voice asked and when I turned around I met a young woman.

"Yes I am."

"Who are you?"

"My name is Ronnie and I am Kacey's best friend. I overheard your conversation with the principal."

"I know that I shouldn't be doing this because Kacey doesn't want you near you but I know where she is."

"I won't tell her where I got her location if that's what you're worried about."

She nodded quietly.

"Kacey left a few days ago with her mother. She returned back to her hometown in-"

"Ronnie!"

A young man came walking towards us and he looked very angry.

He grabbed Ronnie's hand.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Ronnie glared at him.

"Kacey might not admit it but she needs to talk to Liam if she'll ever move on."

He let go of Ronnie and then glared at me.

"You must be the bastard who ruined my best friend's life."

"Elijah don't" Ronnie warned in a low tone.

His eyes challenged mine.

"I fucked her so what are you going to do?" I was taunted.

Elijah aimed to punch me but I dodged his blow.

KACEY POV

The few weeks went by in a haze and I couldn't hide the truth from Elijah. When he finally learned what my mother had done he was very pissed but there was nothing he could do to change my mother's mind.

I was leaving today and he just had to accept the truth because I was never going to ever come back. My mother had come early and she wanted us to leave as soon as possible. I hugged all my friends for the last time and Diamond and her gang seemed really excited to see that they were finally leaving campus for good this time.

The journey back home was long but when we finally arrived home I went back to my old room. All the memories came flooding back like a tsunami.

The atmosphere in my old room made me realize that I had a twin sister even though I chose to bury those memories deep into my consciousness.

A place full of darkness.

Stacey was gone, she had disappeared with my father and they were never going to come back.

I slumped to my knees as tears spilled down my cheeks and a painful sob escaped my lips.
