CHAPTER THIRTY NINE
RONNIE POV
Res slumped beside me exhaling harshly trying to regain his breath. I fought so hard to have him beside me because I felt jealous of the other girls he had touched before me. But I never imagined that I would feel this empty inside.
This was supposed to be my happy ending but yet I felt dirty inside and out just like a slut. And that was the woman I became after tonight because I begged Res to fuck me.
Those special moments in his arms suddenly felt wrong like he wasn't even mine to begin with. Tears threatened to roll down my cheeks when I gasp escaped my lips.
My desire for Res to touch me had suddenly disappeared. And I felt disgusted with myself because I didn't know what demon had possessed me and made me act so wantonly.
I swallowed hard trying to blink the tears away.
"Ronnie?"
I remained silent.
"Talk to me I'm worried did I hurt you that bad?" He asked curiously.
"Ronnie."
"You were right Res I was drunk and wasted I had no idea what I was thinking when I asked you to fuck me."
"It was a mistake."
He stared at me in disbelief.
"Ron, what are you talking about?"
"We should be just friends."
He scoffed in annoyance.
"Friend's?" He taunted.
"Are you fucking Kidding me?!"
"What can't go back to being friends after the shit that just happened."
"You're the one who wanted to change things between us, you're the one who seduced me."
"Don't play innocent Ron and don't you dare guilt trip me."
Res got out of bed and began getting dressed.
"Where are you going?"
"Somewhere far away at least I'll be away from you."
"Do you know what I hate the most? Someone playing with my feelings just like you did Ronnie."
"Is this your sick way of getting back at me?"
I looked away.
"Fine, don't say anything."
"You can't leave right now because it's in the middle of the night and I know that your girlfriend still has your keys."
"She's not my girlfriend."
"I'd rather sleep in a tree than stay in the same room with you."
His words sliced through me like a knife.
I got out of bed and wrapped the bed sheet around myself despite the sore feeling I felt between my legs.
"Do you really hate me that much?"
I tried to touch him but Res took a step back. He couldn't even stand my touch.
"Res please."
"What you did to us is unforgivable."
"I decided to muster up my courage for you Ronnie and finally own up to my feelings but your words fucked with my head."
Before I could utter a word Res unlocked the door and stepped outside. He didn't seem to care about the rain. I wanted to run after him and tell him that I loved him ever since I was a kid but I could see that it was already too late.
I slumped to my knees watching him walk away until he finally disappeared from my view.
"Res…"
He was already gone.
That was the last time I saw him he had disappeared again and this time it was my fault because I had pushed him away.
He was never going to come back.
Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and months turned into years. I waited for him to come back but he never did. I decided to finally give up.
I was still working at club kiss because it was the only way I kept in contact with him when I was Ron. The woman he could easily talk to but never knew who I was despite the mask I was wearing.
RES POV
"Aren't you going to give up on your little facade? It's been years and you're still keeping your identity a secret."
She cocked a brow at me.
"It's been years Res aren't you getting tired of chasing me? At this rate you'll never catch me."
She winked at me and passed a shot of tequila in my direction.
"It seems like you had a bad day. You should drink this. I guess you need it."
I nodded quietly.
Ron reminded me of Ronnie even though I loathed her, a part of me still missed her and regretted walking out on her years ago but she deserved it especially for messing with my feelings.
"You're thinking about her."
I stared at her in disbelief and gulped the shot like it was just water.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"If you still love her then go back to her."
"I don't love her."
"Okay."
I looked away feeling her gaze on my face. She was blowing things out of proportion and making assumptions she didn't even know.
"You don't know Ronnie."
"Maybe I've met her and that's why I know so much about you."
"You've met her?"
She nodded quietly.
"Where?"
"I thought you said that you didn't care about her."
"I don't but her parents are worried about her. That's why I'm asking."
Ron studied me carefully, her brown eyes watching me.
"What if she never came back because she's dead? Maybe she killed herself the moment you left her."
My heart had been beating for a moment and I stared at Ron stunned.
"Dead?"
"Yeah you heard me."
"No she can't be dead, I'm going to find her and you're going to help me."
"She's not dead and you know her whereabouts just tell me where she is."
Ron's lips curved into a smile.
"I don't kiss and tell Resmond Connard."
I rolled my eyes at her and left the club feeling pissed off.
Things were easy with Ron and I could easily share my problems with her but something was changing and I was afraid that I would end up falling in love with her and getting my heart broken in the process.
"Where are you Ronnie? Why did you disappear into thin air?"
KACEY POV
First thing in the morning we were on the plane heading to New York. I couldn't shake off the nervousness that I was feeling. Anthony had noticed my trembling hands and he grasped them both in an attempt to stop them from trembling.
Our eyes locked and he gave me a stern nod because he didn't need to say anything for me to understand what he wanted to say.
I swallowed hard and looked outside the window.
I never thought that I would come back to New York, not even in a situation like this.
What if Tatia found Liam? He would certainly take her away from me.
I closed my eyes tightly.
"He won't take her away if that's what you're worried about."
Anthony's voice echoed in my head. But I was wrong because it wasn't in my head at all it was his real voice.
I didn't open my eyes.
"You don't know what Liam is like."
"I know what type of man he is because I've met him on one of my business trips."
I opened my eyes, staring at Anthony in disbelief.
"You met Liam?"
He nodded quietly.
"When?"
"Last year."
I blinked trying to push the memories away.
"What did he look like?" I whispered softly.
"Handsome, cocky, arrogant just like the way you left him."
"He's not a good man Kacey and it would be good for Tatia to stay away from him."
"He's a womanizer."
"He used to show up a different woman in his hotel but there was one thing I noticed about the women he chose."
"What was that?"
"Well they all looked like you."
"Same hair color and eyes."
"He wanted those women to be you."
Did he still care about me?
I looked out the window watching the clouds.
It doesn't matter because Liam had returned back to his old ways again. He wasn't worth the heartache.
He could have any woman he wanted. I didn't care anymore.
TATIA POV
After leaving the hotel I went through a few pictures I took of my mother's diary. From what I had gathered she used to work as a club kiss as a stripper. I decided to search for the club online and found it.
According to what she wrote she met my father here. I'm sure that this is where I'll find him.
"Are you leaving already?" The receptionist asked curiously.
She was very noisy.
I turned to stare at her.
"Yes I'm going to meet my father and I think I don't need your permission to do that."
"You little brat just get out of here already."
"With an attitude like I'm sure that you won't be getting any tips" I muttered quietly and left the hotel.
Outside the hotel I found a taxi waiting outside.
"Drop me off at club kiss."
The driver drove off without muttering anything. At least he wasn't giving me a hard time like that rude receptionist at the hotel.
A few minutes later the taxi came to a stop at the entrance of the club and I paid him the taxi fare.
The taxi driver drove off.
I looked around the place and there was a scary looking bouncer outside the door guarding it. I needed to make a plan to sneak inside.
I found the nearest bathroom and changed into a short dress I had bought at the mall. I had watched this kind of scene in many movies and I can't believe that I was doing it in real life.
I put on some make-up and lipstick to make myself look older.
I pulled my laptop out of my backpack and hacked into the club's software so that I could add my name on the guest list and it worked.
I packed my things and approached the bouncer confidently. I wore high heels to make myself look taller.
The bouncer narrowed his eyes on me.
I was about to walk past him but he stopped me blocking my way.
He looked pissed off.
"Where do you think you're going kid?"
His voice was cold and it didn't have a single ounce of emotion in it.
I made a face at him because he had called me a kid.
"Firstly I'm not a kid."
"Well little girl you still can't go inside until I see your ID."
"Ummm I don't have my ID at the moment but I-"
"Then leave" he said sternly, cutting me off mid sentence.
"What if my name is on the VIP list?"
The bouncer cocked a brow at me amused.
"That's not going to happen kid."
I smiled at him sweetly.
"If I were you I wouldn't be so sure please check again."
The bouncer frowned at me.
I could tell that he hated my guts.
"The name is Tatia Praise."
He checked his tablet and looked at me shocked.
"You're lucky that your name is on the list otherwise I wouldn't have let you inside."
I went inside the club.
"Wait, did you say your last name was Praise?"
"Kid you can't go inside."
I closed the door, locking him outside.
I couldn't get caught.
