CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
KACEY POV
The poor man had no idea that I was the girl who humiliated him. Fate has a way of mocking people. He couldn't recognize me because of the mask I was wearing. I won't say that I know him. In fact , I'll take advantage of this situation and bring that arrogant man to his knees. I'll play along and pretend like I don't know him. He was totally confident that I wanted to sleep with him just because of his money, looks and status. I might just prove him wrong.
A smile curved my lips
He pulled some flowers out of the car. They were similar to the red roses he had sent me for my performance.
He approached and handed me the roses.
"These are for you Bambi, you're looking beautiful as always."
He smiled at me.
"Thank you for the flowers, they're beautiful."
"And I wanted to thank you for accepting my invitation. I really thought that you were going to reject it."
"I was about to reject it but I decided to change my mind anyway let's go."
He nodded quietly and opened the door for me as I got inside. He sat beside me and the car zoomed off into the silent night.
He cleared his throat trying to get my attention.
"Why are you wearing a masquerade mask?" He asked curiously.
"It was part of the contract at club kiss. I'm not allowed to reveal my face to you. It's not just for me but for the other girls as well."
"That's an odd rule."
"I think I like it because it keeps us. I enjoy doing this with the thought that no one knows who's under the mask."
"It keeps them on their toes."
"You seem like a woman of many secrets."
"I guess so Mr. Praise."
"Please don't be so formal you can call me by my first name."
"Liam."
"Okay."
LIAM POV
Whenever Bambi looked away I kept stealing glances at her. She had this intriguing aura that just made me drawn to her. Maybe it was because her face was a mystery.
The masquerade mask she wore covered half of her face making her like the goddess she was. And the gray velvet dress she wore hugged her curves sinfully, almost making my cock twitch with anticipation. I was just itching to touch her and trace every curve on her body. It was just a matter of time before I claimed her and made her fall in love with me just like the other's.
Her voice interrupted my thoughts.
"You've been staring at me non stop for the past five minutes."
I looked away.
"I'm sorry it's just that you look stunning tonight and I'm nervous that other men at the event will be all over you."
"What's wrong with that?"
"You should know that we aren't a couple. I can be with any man I want."
The car came to a stop.
"We've arrived."
I came out of the car before I could open the door for Bambi. She got out on her own accord.
"Wow this is amazing."
I looked at the building that stood in front of us which had the initials L.P.
A smirk curved my lips.
"We should go inside. I'm sure that the event is about to begin."
I offered Bambi my hand.
She grasped it slowly and we both stared at each other. But before we could go inside we were surrounded by the press. Within seconds they were taking pictures of us and I noticed that Bambi looked uncomfortable.
"Mr. Praise, who's the mysterious woman beside you?"
"Are you two in a relationship?"
The press kept asking a lot of questions and I pulled Bambi behind me shielding her from the press and their cameras as we both went inside.
ELIJAH POV
Kacey was hiding something from me and I was going to get to the bottom of this one way or another. I saw her when she was getting inside the unfamiliar black car that came to pick her off at the entrance of the campus. I followed the car but lost track of it.
Soon enough I was going to find out everything I needed to know. It was just a matter of time.
I went back to my room wondering when Kacey would return back to campus.
KACEY POV
Immediately we entered the venue all eyee and attention were diverted to Liam and l. And he was still holding my hand. I never imagined that I would someday find myself in such a beautiful place filled with many priceless artifacts.
"Come I'll take you to our reserved table."
I nodded quietly.
Once everything was settled Liam and l took our seats.
"I'll order us some champagne."
"Actually I don't drink alcohol at least not yet."
"That's something I've never heard you work at a club and yet you don't drink alcohol?"
I nodded quietly.
He looked surprised.
"Is there like a tragic story behind your refusal to take alcohol?"
"I don't want to talk about my past besides you're not supposed to know anything about me."
"Okay forget that I said anything I'll just order you some juice or perhaps a cocktail."
"Juice is just fine."
"Alright then."
Liam signaled the waiter to come over to our table. A few minutes later the waiter brought her orders.
I took a small sip of my juice.
"By the looks of this it seems like you're a true fan of art. Everything around here looks priceless. I'm even surprised that you're selling them."
"It's just old junk that belonged to my father."
"And you're selling it?"
"Yes I don't need his junk, it's better if the money is used for something productive."
"We don't exactly have that perfect father and son relationship; it's more like we are enemies but with the same blood running through our veins."
"Since I told you something from my past I think it's only fair if you share something with me."
"I don't think that's how it works."
"It looks like our food is here."
"Eat up, it will be soon time for the auction."
I smiled at him and began to eat my food. Maybe Mr. Arrogant wasn't such a bad man after all.
