Do It Again

She runs towards him wrapping her arms around him tightly but he keeps his eyes on me as if he is trying to work out if I am a threat or not, I make sure to let him know just who I am by keeping my eyes locked on him.

It's obvious he has alpha blood as he manages to keep his eyes on mine until he eventually drops his head. He lasted longer than I thought but eventually, he gave into me.

**"Who's your new friend Sekreta ?"**

She pulls away from still gripping his hand as they both walk towards me, Sekreta is practically beaming with joy.

*"This is Selene "*

He looks away from me and turns into her speaking softly and quietly but his body has tensed up.

**"Selene as in one of those three sisters ?"**

*"Yes Ildi but they are nothing like Salvi has led everyone to believe for a start I’m alive aren't I?"*

**"Your alive until she decides your not "**

He throws a quick glance my way. Is aura getting bolder as his anger rises?

"If I wanted to kill her she would be dead by now"

**"You see even now she's probably just playing with you. She will get what she wants from you and then that's it Sekreta "**

He stands in front of her now blocking her from my view ready to attack me at any moment.

"Look I don't know who you are but the only reason she isn't dead is because of Artemis. I would have killed her the day she stumbled onto my territory."

I take a step closer to him half enjoying this intimidating him, it's quite amusing to watch him act bigger than he is, I’m about to mess with him some more when Sekretas eyes meet my own and she gives me a pleading look.

I reluctantly stop walking towards him and take a deep breath.

"Fortunately for Sekreta my sister vouched for her and we have since realised that the one who needs rescuing from a mad woman is her. So that is what we have chosen to do, Sekreta is family my sisters and I won't lay a finger on her"

It's a half-truth I know deep down that Cynth and Arti wouldn't hurt her but I cannot say the same completely for myself. If she proves all of my instincts right then I won't hesitate to end her to protect my family and my pack.

It is perhaps the Luna in me that makes me more rational but I'm okay with it.

**"You're lying."**

Sekreta breaks away from him and stands between the two of us.

*"She is here to help me. I swear it Ildi and well...we kind of need your help too"*

He stands there mouth open like a fish out of water looking at her as if she had just spoken a different language. They just exchange weird looks between one another they are not linking but they look as if they know what the other is thinking.

"Look can we just end this little eye contact thing and get to the point. Ildi, Salvia is bad news there's no doubt about it whatever she has fed you about us is a lie"

*"Selene is right Ildi. Since I've been with them I've seen it. They are nothing like the way she described them. They are not power-hungry or horrible to their pack. Ildi, Salvi lied to me, to you and your whole pack. She led you to believe all of their gifts were stolen from others but they weren't they were born with them in the same way I was"*

**"What do you mean? Salvi said they took them from her own family, that they killed them to get what they wanted "**

I can't help bust scoff at the sheer ignorance of this guy, he so blindly followed her without even asking any questions.

"You so easily believed Salvi, what's to say you cannot believe Sekreta and me?"

**"I don't believe you because I watched how you and your sisters unfairly set up magic shields to keep us out. I watched as one of you married the most ruthless Alpha in our lands. I have no reason to believe you"**

His face is flushed red and his fists are clenched shut as he tries to control his anger.

*"You have me "*

Sekreta's small voice suddenly speaks volumes and Ildi's face softens.

*"You can trust me Ildi, you were my first and only friend. I trusted you from the moment we met and I'm asking you now to do the same. Selene and her sisters are not bad people it is Salvi. I know you feel it because we have spoken about it, about your brother !"*

He stares at her for a moment and then he walks past me and sits around our now dead fire. Sekreta meets my eye and we both follow to sit with him. I guess he is now ready to listen, maybe he will help us now.

**"I'm not saying that I’m going to do what you ask, but I’ll listen"**

I suppose that's all I can ask for, it is curious to me why he is out here so late alone though, Sekreta said we were a few hours away from the house. I swear it seemed a lot longer when we were coming to get Artemis.

Sekreta begins to explain why we are here and what we've come for, you can tell she trusts him, the way she is emoting as she speaks is unlike how I’ve seen her before. She goes over every detail of her time with us right up to the moment Salvi arrived to take her back.

**"She told us they had kidnapped you. That they had taken you through the night and were going to kill you. A few people from our pack didn't want to go but Ivar forced them to, it was like he was burning with rage from the inside out so they had no choice but to come"**

"You didn't think to question that? I mean how would we have gotten past your guards, were not bloody invisible "

He gives me a stern look before facing away again. I can tell that he's not a fan of me, I think the whole world could probably tell.

**"We don't know what your capable of all we know is what we have been told and what we have seen"**

*"She lied everything was a lie Ildi and to be honest I’m not even sure if she is my sister. I know we are family, I feel it but something inside me is telling me we are not. I mean she lied to me about our father she told me he was dead but he is at that house I heard him talking to her"*

**"What are you talking about, she said her father was dead and there is no one living in the house that we don't know"**

*"I heard it with my own ears Ildi, she said his name out loud"*

**"Sekreta I’m telling you there is no one living at our house that isn't from our pack "**

*"Look I know what I heard"*

They kept going back and forth until finally, I had to stop it.

"Look we are not going to solve anything with you saying yes and him saying no. Sekreta we have a job to do now are we going to do it or are we going to stay sitting with your friend talking about if this person exists or if I’m going to kill you ."

They both stop and stare at me, the sound of my voice seemingly reminding them that they are not alone. Neither of them speaks but Ildi stands, one hand on his hip and the other running through his loosely tousled hair.

He starts walking away and Sekreta and I follow slowly, although he hasn't said it I assume this is him agreeing to help her.


**Sekreta**

The air couldn’t be tender as we follow him, he doesn't speak but there's an urgency to his steps. Part of me has to wonder if he is going to walk us right into Salvi and Ivars hands. Maybe he is just going to hand us over to them and be done with it.

It's hard to believe that he would but there's still that fear that he might, the fear that perhaps I don't know him as well as I think I do.

"Selene?"

Taking a step closer to her she leans in towards me to listen.

"What if he is taking us right to her, what are we going to do "

*"Do you think he would?"*

"I'm not sure. I'd like to think not but I don't know what other lies Salvi may have fed him"

*"We will just have to be on our guard, at the first sign of danger stays close to me and I’ll protect us. It won't hold for long but it might be long enough for us to do something about it "*

"Okay"

**"You know two can stop whispering I’m a wolf I can hear you"**

Ildi stops and turns around staring at both of us intently.

**"I'm not going to take you to her but I’m not going to really help you either, it would make me a traitor to my own pack. All I know is Salvi is bad news may be in the way you say maybe not but I cannot deny that my pack would be better off without her, Ivar would be better off without her. Our pack would be better off without her "**

He turns and walks forwards once more. I can see his shoulders rising and falling. I can tell he's angry or maybe upset just from the way he is moving.

*"Sekreta. If not going to give us up but he's not going to help us then what the hell is he going to do ?"*

"Well I guess we are just going to have to follow him and find out "

We follow him for another 45 minutes before it suddenly occurs to me that Ildi was wandering around in the middle of a forest and he has yet to explain why.

"Ildi."

I call him and run up to him to match his pace.

"Ildi. Why were you in the forest, miles away from the packhouse and in the middle of nowhere"

He momentarily freezes and rubs his temples with one of his hands.

**"Well I ... erm. You see the things I was trying to do. I mean I just wanted"**

"Ildi you are aware that you haven't actually said anything really"

**"Sorry I just. Well Sekreta I was coming to get you "**

"Me?"

**"Yes you "**

"Why were you coming for me, I mean what was your plan?"

**"I don't know. Things have been weird, Ivar and Salvi have been acting strange and I guess I missed you"**

"But you helped attack the pack to get me back, why would you come alone?"

**"When we got there it didn't feel right there were those of us who didn't want to be there. I asked Salvi but she wasn't having any of it. Sekreta she did something to Ivar that day, I watched her she whispered into his ear and then he changed"**

"What? you mean she made him turn into his wolf"

**"No but he was irritated and agitated and then she whispered into his ear and he went solid only reacting to her and his eyes changed, he didn't look like himself anymore"**

The sound of footsteps behind us indicates Selene has decided to join up with us instead of lagging a bit behind.

*"I don't mean to pry but did you say he changed ?"*

**"I did yes"**

Ildi is cold toward her, I can tell he's still not one hundred percent convinced that she isn't evil but I guess in this instance he wants to help Ivar and his pack is going to overshadow that.

*"She spoke directly to him?"*

**"Yes she bend down into him"**

*"I think I know what she did"*

"You do ?"

*"Yes. I think I know because I’ve done it before, only once and I’ve never been able to do it again "*

I must have given her the same blank stare Ildi because she takes a breath and rolls her eyes.

*"Calder and I had gone back to my old pack to look for anything that could give me a sign about my sisters and me. As we were leaving we were spotted by some rouges, they chased us until we had nowhere to go. In my anger and panic, I turned and told them to stop and turn back. And well.. they did, all of them turned and walked away"*

"I didn't know you had another gift!"

*"I don't like i said I’ve not been able to do it again although not through lack of trying"*

"So you think that's what she did ?"

*"Well maybe yeah, I mean if I can do it and she has done something similar perhaps its a power in out bloodline no one has inherited yet "*

Ildi grips my wrist and then looks at Selene, a wash of panic over his face.

**"You said you were never able to do it again, right?"**

*"Right. Never I don't know why thou.."*

He cuts her off frantically looking behind her.

**"Any chance you want to try now cause we have company"**

I move to look behind her too only to see several pairs of eyes staring back at us along with the deep sounds of growling. Whoever these wolves were, they were hungry and we were the meal of the day.
