chapter 15

Reese wakes up before Kat. She takes her blanket and covers Kat up with it. She has made her decision. She walks down the hall to her office. She takes a box out of the closet in the hall. She walks into her office and starts packing up her things. She takes out her company cell and puts it in the desk. She removes her company card and car keys from her purse and places it in the desk.
Reese turns on her computer and forwards all her emails to Luca. She takes two pieces of paper off of the printer and pens a note for Kat. She spends time on it making sure Kat knows she is positive this is the right move. Luca’s note was much simpler.
Reese takes out her cell and texts Roman to come pick her up. While she waits she seals the envelope with Kat’s note puts it in her purse. She leaves Luca’s on her desk. Reese looks around the office to see if she left anything.
She leaves her office and walks to Kat’s dressing room. She leaves the note where Kat can find it. She knows she will miss Kat the most. She hopes the two will be able to stay close.
Reese walks out of the building to wait for Roman. She walks over to her car and checks to see if she left anything in there. Roman pulls up behind her and grabs her box of things. He opens the door for Reese and places her things in the trunk.
“You okay, sis,” Roman asks.
“I will be,” Reese says.
“Home?” he asks.
“Yes, I need sleep,” Reese says.
“You need to feed Reese,” Roman says.
“I just need sleep, brother,” Reese says.
Roman lets it go. He knows she is hurting and he does not want to push the issue any further. He drives silently until the two get to her apartment building.
“Want me to stay with you?” Roman asks.
“Do you have any where else to be?” Reese asks.
“No, I can stay,” Roman says.
Roman grabs her box and follows her up to her apartment. He hasn’t seen her like this since the divorce. She was so heartbroken after her divorce. He never could figure out why her happy marriage ended so suddenly. He dared not ask. He would just be there for her while she mends her broken heart yet again.
Reese opens the door to her apartment. Roman follows her in and sits her things down. Reese doesn’t speak she just goes to bed. Roman is determined to get her to feed.
He grabs a blood bag out of the fridge and puts it in the blender. He mixes her favorite fruits and smoothie mix. He puts it in her favorite cup and sticks a straw in it. He places it beside her bed. “Please eat something sis,” he says.
Reese rises up from the bed and takes a few sips. “Good girl,” Roman says.
He leaves her to rest.
Her phone is vibrating when he goes back into the kitchen. He checks to see who it is. Kat is calling. Roman decides to answer.
“Hello beautiful,” Roman says.
“Hey Sugar, I was calling to check on Reese. You have got to be the tall dark and handsome brother,” Kat says.
Roman is taken back by the sweet southern voice on the other end of the line.
“I am the brother. Miss Kat. I hear you are something of a wild woman,” Roman says.
“Wild no sir. Listen I was wondering if it would be okay if I stopped by to see her. I am getting dressed now. I have decided to call in sick for the day,” Kat says.
“Of course beautiful bring yourself right on over. She is sleeping but I think it would mean a lot if you come by,” Roman says.
“Does she need anything food or more liquor,” Kat asks.
“No I do not think she needs anything, but you can bring the liquor anyway and we can drink it,” Roman says.
“Deal. I will hang out until she feels like talking. I am really worried about her after what happened last night,” Kat says.
“Good. You can feel me in on all of the details so I can decide who I am the most pissed off at,” Roman says.
“I will stop by the liquor store and then be on my way sugar. Don’t tell her I am coming. That way she cant say no,” Kat says.
“You got it. See you soon wild woman,” Roman says.
Roman puts Reese’s phone back on charge. He walks to Reese’s room to check on her. She drank all of the smoothie and was back sleeping soundly. Roman grabbed an extra blanket out of the closet and covered Reese up.
Roman goes into Reese’s bathroom to check his hair. He thought Kat sounded amazing sexy and wanted to look good when she got there. She might be wife number 4 or 8. Roman wasn’t even sure how many times he had been married. It was more than one.
Roman sat down on Reese’s ugly couch and waited for Kat. “Why in the hell did she buy this ugly thing?” Roman joked to himself.
KNOCK KNOCK

Roman opened the door to see this beautiful creature standing before him. Long beautiful wavy hair, the cutest little figure with curves for day, she was dressed in a cute yellow top and black skirt with polka dotted heels.
“Wow!” Roman says.
“Wow yourself sugar,” Kat says.
Roman lets her in. He cant stop staring at her.
“It is impolite to stare,” Kat says.
“I cannot help myself,” Roman says.
“Grab us some glasses and ice, I got the bottle,” Kat says.
“You got it beautiful,” Roman closes the door and proceeds to the kitchen. He grabs the ice and two whiskey glasses. He meets Kat on the ugly couch. He pours the both of them some whiskey.
“You think we should check on Reese before we start drinking,” Kat says.
“I think we should let her sleep a while. She is very upset. I got her to drink a smoothie,” Roman says.
“I don’t blame her. Luca is having a meltdown at the studio right now. He deserves it. He really pissed her off,” Kat says.
“So are you going to tell me what happened?” Roman says.
“Well. I am not sure if I should. I mean Reese is my friend and she might get upset if I tell you all of her business,” Kat says.
Roman cackles and touches Kat’s bare leg. “You are probably right beautiful,” he says.
“But I am sure she will tell you. She spoke very highly of you last night. We had a few drinks last night at the studio. I stayed with her so she wouldn’t be alone after what happened,” Kat says.
“Did Luca hurt her?” Roman asks.
“Not exactly but he did break her trust in a major way,” Kat says.
Roman is perplexed. “I thought the two of them weren’t speaking and I thought she was talking to some guy from the main office,” he says.
“Well, we all went out last night and Luca kind of lost it on her. To top off the night she found out he had a camera in her office watching her. Let me tell you sugar all hell broke loose last night. Luca fired his PA after he got an eyeful on that camera he had no business having in the first place. So we got drunk and talked most of the night. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. I probably told you too much. Don’t tell her I told you any of this. At least tell her I had a lot to drink first and then spilled it,” Kat says.
“Wow, That was an eventful night. No wonder she is so pissed off. She said she would tell me everything later. Enough about her drama we can listen to all of it when she wakes up. Tell me about you beautiful,” Roman says.
Roman still rubbing Kat’s bare leg. “Well, you know I work at the studio, I have been married 8 times. I just cant seem to find anyone normal to be in my life. Maybe I am unbearable to live with,” Kat says.
“With legs like this you can be as unbearable as you want. And that sweet smile,” Roman says.
“Well I hear I can be difficult to deal with,” Kat says.
“I will be the judge of that,” Roman says.
“Oh I see,” Kat says as she moves closer to Roman.
“Kiss me,” Roman says.
Kat moves in and kisses Roman.
