chapter 24

It takes Reese and Kat only days to put together the wedding. Reese and Kat bought everything in one shopping spree. Since they were using Luca’s house he took care of the decorations and caterer.
Everyone from the studio and most of the Butterfly employees come. Reese wears a beautiful pale pink gown. Luca is Romans best man he wears a black tux with a pale pink bow tie to match Reese.
Kat’s dress is a beautiful fitted white dress with black roses stitched on to it. Her veil is white with black roses. Her bouquet is a mix of black, white and a single red rose in the center.
“You look amazing,” Reese tells Kat. Reese fluffs Kat’s dress as they prepare for her big moment.
“Well maybe you will have this soon,” Kat says.
“I don’t think Luca and I are at that point. We are still working through all of this,” Reese says.
“Well, I know he loves you Reese,” Kat says.
“No doubt there. This is your day. We are not discussing my love life drama today,” Reese says.
“I am sorry. I just want you to be happy,” Kat says.
“Kat, I am happy. I do have a lot of feelings for him and he does for me. We just have a lot to work on to make it work,” Reese says.
“Yeah, I understand sugar,” Kat says.
“I believe you are ready,” Reese says.
Kat looks at herself in the full length mirror. “Wow, I never thought I would get married again,” Kat says.
“Well, to be honest I never thought Roman would get married again either. Kat I have never seen him this happy,” Reese says.
“I hope I make him happy. I want to spend my life with him. I want to be there with him always. Reese I wasn’t going to tell you just yet. But I have decided to leave the studio,” Kat says.
“I thought you might want to so I talked to Luca and if you want to stay on as my PA I really need one,” Reese says.
“Seriously,” Kat asks.
“Yes,” Reese says.
“Well then I accept,” Kat says.
“Okay Okay. We got to get a move on. We are going to be late for your wedding,” Reese says.
“I love you Reese,” Kat says.
“I love you too sis,” Reese says.
The two scurry down to the French doors that open to Luca’s backyard. The back was decorated with white and pink flowers. Reese walks out first accompanied by Luca.
“You are breathtaking Reese,” Luca says.
“Thank you,” she says.
They part ways at the end of the aisle. Kat comes out behind them. Every one stands to look at how beautiful she is. She is a vision of beauty as she walks down the aisle to her beloved.
When Roman says I do he leans in and kisses Kat. “You are everything to me. My past my present and my future. I will love you always,” Roman says to her.
Reese thought to herself how much she wanted to be truly loved again. Not that Luca didn’t love her, she was sure he did. She just did not think he had fully accepted her yet.
After the wedding Luca has a reception set up in the garden area next to his pool. Every one stayed to eat and drink and give the new couple their best wishes. Kat and Roman are all over one another dancing and laughing with everyone.
“Reese I have to throw my bouquet. Get everyone together,” Kat says.
Reese gathers everyone together. Kat stands on a platform at the front of the garden. Kat turns her back to everyone and tosses her bouquet. Her bouquet lands at Reese’s feet. She reaches down and picks it up. Kat runs to her. “See that means you’re next,” Kat says.
“Maybe,” Reese says.
Kat runs back to her husband. Luca comes over to Reese. “Nice flowers,” he says.
“Yeah, I guess I will hang them in my office,” Reese says.
“Want to dance with me?” Luca asks.
“Sure,” Reese says.
He leads her out to the floor. The music is slow and she leans into him. “This was nice of you to put all of this together for them,” Reese says.
“I love seeing her happy,” Luca says.
“Me too,” Reese says.
“Where are they going?” Luca asks.
“Bahamas,” Reese says.
“Really,” Luca says.
“Yeah we have family there,” Reese says.
“You want to stay here with me tonight?” Luca asks.
“Sure, but I am not helping clean this mess up,” Reese says jokingly.
“No, I have people for that,” Luca says.
“Or we could go somewhere, “Reese says.
“I will go anywhere you want to go. I just thought we could be here together,” Luca says.
“Okay. We can stay here tonight,” Reese says.
The music ends. Roman and Kat start telling everyone good bye as they prepare to leave. “We can’t miss our flight,” Roman says.
“I love you brother,” Reese tells Roman.
“I love you too sister. I will call you when we get back,” Roman says.
Kat hugs Reese and Luca.
The two exit the garden.
“They look so happy,” Reese says.
As people start to leave Reese walks around telling everyone how much she appreciates them coming. She checks on the wedding gifts and gives instructions for them to be packed up and delivered for the new couple.
“I thought you said you weren’t working on any of this,” Luca says.
“I’m not,” she says.
“Let’s get out of here and let the cleaning crew do their job,” Luca suggests.
“Good plan. I want out of this dress,” Reese says.
“I want you out of that dress,” Luca says.
“I bet you do,” Reese says.
The two head up the stairs to Luca’s bedroom. “Can you unzip this thing? I want out of it,” Reese asks Luca.
Luca rushes to her distress. He unzips the dress and slides it off her shoulders. He gently helps her remove it.
“Reese I need to tell you something,” Luca says.
Reese turns around to face him. “Okay,” she says.
“You know I love you,” Luca says.
“I know that, Luca,” Reese says.
“Being here tonight with all of these people and seeing how happy they are. I want that for us. I hope you do too. I am not ready for that yet but I do want that for us in the future,” Luca says.
“Why are you telling me this Luca,” Reese asks.
“I want you to know I do love you and I do accept you. I do want to spend my life with you,” Luca says.
“Just on your terms, right,” Reese says.
“I don’t mean it like that, Reese,” Luca says.
Reese walks away. She gets her bag with her clothes in it and begins to dress. She puts her dress in a dress bag. She places her heels in the bottom of the dress bag.
“Luca I have been more than patient with you. I want to be with you but you act like I am trying to force something on you. I have never even mentioned marriage. Why bring it up? Why even go there? I am happy us just being together. We can just been together I don’t require anything else,” Reese says.
“Reese I do want marriage. I do want you to be my wife, but how would that work since you are a,” Luca starts but doesn’t finish.
“Because I am a vampire?” Reese asks.
“Yes,” Luca answers.
“Kat is going to the Bahamas to turn for Roman. She will be one of us when they come back,” Reese answers.
“I don’t want that,” Luca says.
“Okay,” Reese says.
Reese grabs her dress bag and walks out of the room.
“Are you leaving?” Luca asks.
Reese doesn’t answer. She’s had enough.
