Kat refuse to leave Reese, after they get her back to her apartment and settled in. “I am not leaving her Roman. We had already planned to stay her a few days,” Kat says.
“I would never leave her in this condition,” Roman says.
Kat lies next to Reese on the bed. Thomas takes Roman out of the bedroom. “You think she will be okay?” Thomas asks.
“Yeah we just have to make sure she eats,” Roman says.
“She needs to eat more,” Thomas says.
“You can’t tell her that, she didn’t want this life. Neither of us did,” Roman says.
“How did both of you end up vampires?” Thomas asks.
“She was married to Benton Thibodaux.” Roman says.
“He is royalty,” Thomas says.
“Yes, she was a human when she met him. When they got married he told her he was a vampire and wanted her to turn. She would only turn if I did. So we both went to the Bahamas and turned. She did not understand everything that came with it. Long story short her new husband was a monster. She got out and said she never wanted to be like that. She drinks blood bags in small amounts. Just enough to keep her alive,” Roman says.
“I hate that for her. She seems like such a sweet girl,” Thomas says.
“What were you two doing at that bar?” Roman asks.
“She texts me out of the blue and asked me if I wanted to go so I came back and picked her up. I guess Luca followed us,” Thomas says.
“Yeah, you know he watched the two of you have sex in her office,” Roman says.
“Are you serious? That’s just creepy,” Thomas says.
“She had to see for herself. I hate this happened,” Roman says.
“She broke it off after the wedding. He is some kind of stupid to mistreat her,” Thomas says.
“I’m glad she has you as a friend,” Roman says.
“We are just friends,” Thomas says.
“Good,” Roman says.
“Can I go check on her before I leave?” Thomas asks.
“Yeah, go ahead,” Roman says.
Thomas knocks softly on Reese’s door. “SSHHh” Kat hushes him.
“I want to check on her before I leave,” Thomas says.
Kat gets up. “I will go check on Roman. She is healing. I am going to try to get her to feed more. I will be back in a few minutes,” Kat says.
“Thomas,” Reese says. She is so weak she can barely say his name.
“I am here. I was about to head home. I wanted to make sure you are okay,” Thomas says.
“Come here,” Reese says.
Thomas sits beside the bed.
“You okay?” Thomas asks.
“I think so. Did Roman kill him?” Reese asks.
“Yes,” Thomas answered.
“Good, he said he was going to slice me into pieces,” Reese says.
“I am sorry you went through that Reese,” Thomas says.
“I’m just glad you were with me. No one would’ve known. He could’ve killed me,” Reese says.
“Put it behind you Reese. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Kat is going to bring you some blood. I want you to feed, okay. Tomorrow you call me and I will come over and check on you,” Thomas says.
“Okay,” Reese says.
Kat comes back in the room with Reese a blood bag. “Girlie we don’t have time for this smoothie shit. I need you to drink this entire thing. I need you back on your feet tomorrow,” Kat says.
She glares at Thomas. He knows it’s time to go. Thomas exits quickly before Kat has a chance to throw him out. He tells Roman bye and leaves the apartment.
Roman checks in on Reese. His beautiful sweet wife is lying next to his broken sister. “I will sleep on the couch. If you need me I will be right here,” Roman says.
“Okay,” Reese says.
“Love you,” Kat says.
“Love you both,” Roman says.
Roman grabs him a blanket and pillow from the back bedroom. He returns to the couch and covers up. He lies so he can see the door. Luca is dead so he isn’t coming back. Roman isn’t sure if he can trust anyone right now. He only wants his sister to be okay. He knows Kat will keep an eye on her.
Just as Roman is about to fall asleep there is a knock on the door. KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Roman goes to the door and opens it.
“Benton,” Roman says.
“I came to see Reese,” Benton says.
“Well she isn’t doing very well,” Roman says.
“I know, that is why I am here,” Benton says.
“She doesn’t need this right now,” Roman says.
“I will be back,” Benton says.
Roman closes the door. Kat comes out of the bedroom. “Who was that?” Kat asks.
“Reese’s ex husband,” Roman says.
“Great, anymore surprises coming?” Kat asks.
“I hope not. Try to get some rest. Tomorrow we are taking her with us,” Roman says.
Kat kisses Roman. “We are not leaving her alone until she is completely healed,” Kat says.
“She may have to be with us for awhile, Kat,” Roman says.
“That is fine. She is my family too,” Kat says.
“Thank you,” Roman says.
“For what?” Kat asks.
“For being you,” Roman says.
