Chapter 32

Kat POV
I lay in the bed next to Roman. I swear there is no place in this world I would rather be. I know that marrying him was the best thing that could have ever happened to me He is the love of my life. Reese and Thomas are a bonus. I love Reese like a sister. I know Roman is worried about her and her future. She has been broken so many times before. This time I think it is different. I think everything will work out great for the two of them. I wish they would stay here with us for a while but on the other hand I am ready to have Roman all to myself. I have no regrets in helping Reese recover. I will always be there for her when she needs me no matter what. Roman adores her, and I could never get in the way of that.
I lay my head on his chest. I would never in a million years thought the day would come that I would be so in love with a vampire and married to one. He is my everything.
I close my eyes to go back to sleep. I hear something coming from downstairs. I look at the clock, it is too early for Reese and Thomas to be leaving to go on their honeymoon. Roman is sleeping so sound. I will go check it out myself.
I get out of the bed. I grab some clothes out of the dresser. I slip into my clothes quietly so i can go downstairs to check on what all the noise is. It is probably the new couple being silly, but I need to be sure.
"Hey, where are you going?" Roman asks.
"I want some water, big boy," I say to him.
"Hmmm, after today you will not have to put on clothes to walk around the house," Roman says.
I laugh at him. He thinks he is going to keep me naked and on my back all the time. He is crazy. I like to be on top.
I go out the bed room door and walk into the kitchen. The noise is coming from in the living room now. I peek out the door. There is someone in the living room. Oh my damn.
"Why are you here?" I scream.
I hear Roman getting out of bed as the man runs at me. I am not fast enough. He hits me in the head and i go to the floor.
I open my eyes. It is daylight. I blink a few times trying to get my brain to work. My head is throbbing.
"You are healing. Try to stay calm and still," Roman says.
"How long.... How long....How long have i been out?" I ask.
My throat is scratchy and my head is pounding.
"I have some blood for you. I need you to sit up and drink it. You should be okay after you feed," Roman says.
I sit up for him. The room is spinning. I take the blood bag from Roman. I begin to drink it as quickly as I can.
"What the hell happened?" I ask Roman.
"You screamed. I came running down and you were on the floor," Roman says.
Roman looks over at Thomas. They are leaving something out.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you and Reese be gone on your honeymoon?" I ask Thomas.
"Kat, calm down. I need you to heal. I need you to remain as calm as possible right now," Roman says.
"He took her didn't her?" I ask Roman.
Roman looks at Thomas again. They both look distraught.
"Kat, please honey. I need you to feed and remain calm," Roman says again.
I begin to cry.
"KAT!" Roman says my name sternly.
"I am sorry. I heard a noise. I thought Thomas and Reese were downstairs. I came down to see what was going on and I saw Benton in the living room. I yelled out to him. And then he attacked me," I say.
"I know. We both know it was Benton," Roman says.
"Why would he want to hurt her?" I ask Roman.
"He is still in love with her. He wants her to be with him. We will find her okay. I need you to remain calm and heal for me, darling," Roman says.
I begin to sob uncontrollably. I should not have come down alone. I should have woken Roman up when I heard the noise. I have to heal. I have to get better so I can find her.
"Get me another blood bag," i tell Roman.
"Okay, promise me you will stay put until I get back," Roman says.
"I promise to stay put sir," I say to him.
He kisses my forehead. He leaves Thomas with me. These two should be starting their life together not worrying about exes.
"Thomas," I say.
Thomas comes to my side.
"I am sorry I did not stop him," I say.
"Kat, Benton is a very old and very strong vampire, there is nothing you could have done any differently," Thomas says.
He pats me on the leg.
"We will find her," I say.
"Yes, we will. I have no doubt that Roman will get his sister back," Thomas says.
Roman returns with another blood bag for me. He hands it to me. I begin to drink it. My head has already stopped pounding. I am thankful for that. My vision is improving quickly.
"You feel better?" Roman asks.
"I am fine. We need to find Reese," I say.
"I will be the one finding Reese. I need you to stay put," Roman says.
"No sir we are in this together," I demand.
"Kat Chambers, I am giving you an order, you will stay put," Roman says.
"Roman, you know i do not take order well," I say to him.
"Yeah, i know, but it was worth a try," Roman say to me.
