Chapter 36

Thomas POV
I ride along quietly with Roman. I dare not to say too much. I can tell his mind is running in a thousand places worried about his sister. I do not understand how he feels so I will not try to pretend like I do. I think Roman wants silence while we ride to Benton's house so i will give it to him.
Roman turns down a long drive way. "We need to hide the car and walk up to the house. I know Benton and his goons are watching for us," Roman says.
"Okay, There is a tree line there," I say to him.
We pull the car in to the tree line. He parks the car. "Remember what I said just get her out no matter what is happening to me," Roman says to me.
"I will make sure she is safe, but Roman she will never leave you behind," I say to him.
"That is why I need you to make sure you get her our. I do not care if you have to forcefully drag her out, get her out," Roman says to me.
"I will make sure she is safe," I assure him.
We get out of the car. We are far enough from the house it is an easy walk to and from the house with out being seen. As we approach the house we hear Reese screaming but neither of us can understand what she is screaming. We begin to run for the house. Fuck being discreet we need to get to here now. There is no time to handle this any other way.
I run behind Roman. He kicks in the front door. Roman stops as he come in through the front door. I almost ram right into him.
"Oh my damn!" Roman says.
"What?" I ask before I see for my self the carnage that is in front of us.
The entire staff is dead, some one has been feeding on all of them.
"Human?" I ask.
Roman walks over to check. "They were human but someone was hungry," Roman says.
"Who could have done this?" I ask.
"Reese does not feed on humans, so something has happened here," Roman says.
I hear a whimper coming from another room. We follow the whimpering and crying. We turn a corner to find Reese crying and whimpering as she feeds on a staff member.
"Reese," Roman says softly.
She looks up wildly at him. "I am sorry, he tried to bleed me out. I am just so damn hungry. They would not let me leave so i started killing all of them. There was blood every where. I could not stop feeding. I am so sorry," Reese says as she sobs.
Roman rushes to her side, I stay back letting him handle her. He knows how to handle her better than I do. She probably wants her brother.
"Reese it is okay. Where is Benton?" Roman asks her.
"He is in our old bed room," Reese says.
"Thomas stay with her," Roman instructs me.
I go to her. I take her in my arms while Roman goes to check on the status of Benton. "Reese let me help you out of here," I say to her.
"Do you hate me?" Reese says.
"For what?" I ask her.
"For what I have done here?" Reese asks me.
"No, I love you. It is okay. You did what you had to do to be safe," Reese says.
"I never wanted to hurt any one, not ever," Reese says.
"It is okay, let's get you up and out of here," I say to her.
Roman comes back as I am trying to get Reese to her feet. "He is dead," Roman says.
"Good," I say.
"What happened?" Roman asks Reese.
"He gave me a blood bag after he almost drained me so i attacked him. He wanted me to stay here with him and be his.I did not want to so I starting biting him until he was dead," Reese says.
"I see that. He is definitely dead. I do not think he will ever bother you again," Roman says.
"Fuck him!" Reese screams.
"We need to get out of here," Roman says to us.
I pick Reese up and carry her out of the door. We walk back to the car. I put her in the back and get in to the back with her. "You better call Kat now. She will be pissed if you don't," I say to Roman.
He gets in to the car. As soon as he backs us out of the drive way and has us back on the road, he takes out his phone to call Kat.
"Is she okay?" I can hear Kat screaming in to the phone.
"Calm down she will be fine, I will tell you every little detail when we get back with her," Roman says to Kat.
I lay in the back with Reese. I hold her. I am not letting go of her or ever letting her out of my sight again. She will just have to hate me for it. I plan to keep both eyes on her where ever she goes from now on.
"Thomas, she will be fine, do not worry. Reese is a fighter," Roman says.
"I know she is," I say.
Reese holds on to me tight. " I am not letting you go," Reese says.
"Hold on to me as long as you want. I will always take care of you," I say to her as I squeeze her tighter.
She holds on to me all the way home. I am not able to move but I do not care, there is no other place I want to be or need to be. She is the only thing important to me. I will always keep her safe.
I kiss her when we pull in to the drive. "We are home," I say to her.
I help her out of the car.
